I had a room with a shower but no toilet as the bathroom was shared, everything was clean and well maintained, there was also a heater for the cold. Close to the metro. Would stay here again. Compared to other hotels in Europe for this price, it is very good.
We had to book this last minute as we were delayed 7 hours and our hotel did not have a 24hr checkin but this place did. The room was tiny and the bed was rock hard. We arrived at 4am and had checked out before 10am. the breakfast was minimal and the coffee pot you helped yourself to was luke warm.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Aside from them not having an elevator (my mom and sister got a walking exercising every morning and night lol), everything was just lovely and on point. I first found them on hostelworld, but it turns put that they operate some of their rooms as a hotel too. Prices are the same as on their actual website but I got a great deal by contacting them directly. they were able to offer me a 10% discount if i paid cash up front, in a deal that included the breakfast buffet. for a 3-bed with en-suite with breakfast buffet for 4 nights i ended up paying only 251 Euros! of course, this doesnt include the 3 euro per person per night tax but STILL! also, it was january - the low season - so im not sure if that played a role in my awesome deal. i was even surprised to see that the travel book i bought had also recommended Colors Hotel. So what Im saying is that they are legit. 6 block walk to the Ottaviana metro, about 5 blocks from the Vatican, same distance to Castel Sant’Angelo and within a block to so many awesome restaurants - this hotel is the epitome of “location, location, location”. There is an open market nearby and a shopping street a couple of blocks away too. breakfast buffet consisted of different breads, meats, cheeses, jams, coffee, espresso, juices, teas - more than enough to get you ready for the day. breakfast buffet starts at 7:30 and ends around 10a. rooms are quaint - has lovely decorations, a fridge, safe, tv. they clean the room everyday. they stock the fridge with fresh bottled water everyday too. and get this, a free bottle of wine! front desk is 24 hours with limited booking capabilities (e.g. airport transfer). Easy to find - it’s next to a bright blue sign. you ring the doorbell and they buzz you in. Best value, for sure. and lol, it truly is colorful!
In a span of 3 weeks I stayed in 5 different hotels/hostels during a European trip and this hotel was the one I was the most excited for. While the location to the Vatican is definitely great I was disappointed in the size of our bedroom. The room was really odd as the shower was tiny and not separate from the bedroom while the sink was located next to our bed. The toilet was shared with other hotel guests and the patio was right outside our window. The patio looks much larger in pictures. This hotel worked out for us because we were out most of the day, if you just need a place to sleep then this works. If you are looking for comfort/space this is not for you.
It was a decent Hotel. But the photos posted by the hotel on the websites are pretty deceptive. The looks of the Hotel in the photos and in reality are way apart. We had a hard time locating the Hotel as there was no Sign Board. A small printout on an A4 size paper mentioning the Hotel Name was pasted on the side wall. The Breakfast menu was very average. The only thing good about the Hotel was that the Staff was very helpful and the location is good, if you are looking to stay near the Vatican. Overall, an average stay.
Very good location, close to Vatican, many restaurants around, close to the centre and Via del Corso. Clean room, free water every day, WiFi , friendly stuff. Good service for low price! Definitely coming back to this hotel on the next trip to Rome.
Very well located. You can walk to many attraction sites from it like The Vatican, Castel Sant’Angelo, Corte de Cassazione, Piaza Spania, Pantheon. The staff was very welcoming, comunicative and helpful with all my requests and questions. I felt very good at the hotel. Don’t forget to drink a coffee on the terrace.
I was in the colors hotel Rome it’s in the Vatican City so within walking distance to the Vatican, the hotel is very clean the staff very friendly.breakfast you can help yourself to cereal yogurt, croissants, rolls ,cheese and meat coffee and teas.only drawback is the room with shared toilet pick one with inside toilet.there is a shower and sink in the room and hairdryer.it is not a noisey hotel as the rooms are quite far apart and a small hotel.
A small friendly well run hotel. Centrally located. Rooms are clean and modern including a TV and fridge with attached shower room. Staff are very helpful and attentive and speak excellent English. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed 2 nights in the hotel. Small but very useful rooms, 2 adults 1 child we were very comfortable in the room. Clean bathroom. Very nice and helpful lady in the reception; sorry forgot her name, Very close to Vatican, As we had child, we took bus to city centre, bus station is only 2-3 minutes. As we have only 2 luggage, it was not problem to stay in 2.floor. Thanks Hotel Colors for warm welcoming.
