A very well appointed and stylish small hotel in a suburb of Rome. Staff are very helpful and friendly; public areas are stylish and clean; rooms are clean and whilst not large are more than adequate for a short stay; and the continental breakfast is very good - it includes scrambled eggs and Italian bacon. Getting there is not hard but does take some planning unless you want to pay a taxi fare. We flew Ryanair into Rome Ciampino, caught a bus to the city's central rail station Termini and then the very good Metro train from Termini to Conca D'Oro. All of this is easy to do with a little planning. The hotel itself is in a quiet suburb of Rome and is near an area of trendy bars and nice eateries. However, when you come out of the Metro station it looks like a scruffy suburb of Rome - that's because it is (graffiti, some litter and tenements). Whilst we (two fairly well traveled couples) did not feel intimidated by this I can imagine that this might be unsettling for some. We were there for two nights using the Metro for every journey and never did we feel threatened or uncomfortable. Again, I emphasise the benefit of planning to ease the journey from the Metro to the hotel. The hotel is approx .7 to 1.1km away on foot and is up a hill so careful planning of the route (Google Earth etc) is highly recommended. The shorter journey involves the greatest incline - it's not an immense hill but noticeable if you have luggage and especially if you have any mobility problems. We chose the slightly longer route because it involved less of an incline and has the added bonus of taking you past the very nice local bars and eateries. Basically, go south-east along Viale Tireno (this is the longest part of the route), turn left at Corso Sempione (this is where the bars etc are), then left at Via Gargano and then finally left into Via Monte Altissimo - the hotel is a short distance up an incline on this road. We would stay at this hotel again.
Nice, clean, friendly hotel. About 20mins out of the city by Metro but easy to get to and Metro is cheap. Breakfast was plentiful and very nice with a good choice available. Plenty of shops and places to eat in the vicinity however be warned that we stayed on a Sunday night and most restaurants were closed and we struggled to find somewhere to eat. There is a great gelaterie around the corner!
Here for 2 nights; a tad far but its quite close to the metro line. Also used the bus from Termini. Great staff in reception who were so helpful. Good rooms and a fabulous breakfast. Its low key and stress free. Highly recommended.
Lovely hotel, very large room. Lovely and clean. Bit far from the nearest station and you have to use a back road to get in but we enjoyed the walk. Very quiet and shops just a few minutes walk to for snack foods.
We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel itself was very clean and comfortable, the staff were helpful and couldn't do enough and always had big smiles. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful. We loved it and would go again. the hotel is a 20 minute metro ride to the main attractions in the city centre but the cost was significantly different. Definitely a recommendation and would stay here again if visiting the city.
In famous cities it's sometimes nice to stay in a neighbourhood rather than the centre to get a different feel and this is exactly that. Lively and buzzing area with nice bars and restaurants to visit after a day sightseeing. Metro is a bit of a walk but the bus to the centre is very adjacent. The hotel is clean, the staff were helpful and breakfast was nice. We got this on Secret Escapes so consider it good value. I wouldn't want to pay much more though. It stopped short of just going that extra mile. One tiny bar of soap in the tiny bathroom with no added extras to speak of. They just provided what was needed. But certainly no complaints and would probably come back at the right price.
Although slightly out of the way, well worth the slight inconvenience. Very welcoming staff and very friendly. Welcomed us with all the info we would need about the hotel and how to get to the city centre.maps and other info. We knew we were far too early to check in but wanted to leave our stuff and go, and they were happy to accommodate. When we got back late that night everything had been put in our room. We were in a separate building one step from the main one and it was very nice. The room had everything you need, was nicely decorated. Only slight niggle is we couldn't get the jacuzzi working, but then we didn't expect a jacuzzi 😄. Breakfast was lovely, only niggle with that was the size of the teacups (shock horror) so I took the mug from my room to breakfast - problem solved. How to get here, from Termini bus 90 towards Labia. Exit at Sempione (about 17 min). At the lights turn left then second left. Or metro B towards Jonio NG the metro splits so check. Exit at Conca d Oro. At the end of the square take the road up (opposite side to the Pharmacy). Right at the top then slight right again to the hotel. Would I stay here again, definitely!
We arrived mid morning to a lovely hotel bathed in sunlight. The staff informed us that our room wasn't ready, but we were shown where to leave our cases and had coffee and pastries out on the veranda. Our room was clean, light and airy, it was set in the garden at the rear of the hotel and was very quiet. The staff were most helpful and the hotel was a pleasure to stay in. The only issue was that the hotel was a bit too far out of Rome centre but it was nice to come back to somewhere less noisy!
A lovely boutique hotel- but quite a way out of the city. A good 90 minute walk to the City centre but easily accessible by public transport ( bus and metro). Hotel was quiet and relaxing. Good food and service.
This gem of a hotel is in the northern Roman suburb of Monte Sacro. Okay, it's not in the centre of this amazing city but there are good bus routes just two minutes walk from the hotel - you can be in the heart of Rome in 20 minutes, traffic permitting. Also a bus to the station if you're travelling elsewhere (which we did) and again 20 minutes. There's also the metro close by. I'd suggest buy a Roma pass. They are great value for travelling around and the 48 hours ones include at least 1 free museum and various concessions, depending which one you buy. The Ars is in a quiet side street with good restaurants near enough to walk if you want to stagger home after your day of sightseeing. It's a converted 1920's villa in a mostly residential area with just 48 rooms. Spotlessly clean with classy, well presented rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when we asked about eating and transport. The breakfast pastries were amazing although there could have been more choice of fruit. We were only there for 2 nights but the towels were changed daily. Enjoyed our stay - I would definitely stay again.
