Hotel was good, the area wasn't great, good for airport stay.

Needed a room for one night near the airport while awaiting friends who arrived the next day. Great location, just 10 minutes away and right near the beach and Marina. Good value for the dollar, and the hotel receptionists spoke some English and were helpful. They even had an adapter at the front desk from 220 volt to 110 volt so you could charge your i-phone or use whatever you needed. Great view from the top flooor too. Ask for the beach view if you can, well worth the extra charge. Would stay here again!

I needed a place near the airport so I could catch a very early flight. I arrived very tired and really wanted to rest up before the next phase of my travel which I knew would not be easy. Since I chose the hotel by its proximity to the airport, I was not expecting much. To my delight, the hotel is wonderful and it is a short walk from many places to eat on the waterfront. Best of all, the staff is wonderful. I could easily spend a week there.

Hotel ok Staff perfect TV not working in 3 rooms we changed Rooms are not very well isolated = noising Curtains to improve Breakfast great Rooms can be better cleaned View amazing

We needed accommodations before flying back home and this hotel was listed as near the airport; however, it was much further away than we thought. The biggest problem was when we booked the hotel the amenities listed an airport shuttle and when we arrived we found out that it cost 30 euros to get back and forth to the airport. I would not recommend this for a layover.

We only stayed at this hotel one evening. It was difficult to find and the staffs english wasn't very good, so it was hard to get assistance getting there. The hotel lobby and room were very clean, though. It's right across the street from the beach. Unfortunately, our room faced the back of the hotel, which provided us with a view of very messy apartments rather than the beach.

The hotel/room is simple but clean and useful for overnight stay. There was a young lady who is originally from Spain with a nose piercing that was extremely delightful, helpful, and knowledgeable in making our stay very pleasant. I believe her name might be Shiela, not sure. Either way, Barcelo Aran Blu is very fortunate to have her as a front desk employee. I highly recommend this hotel.

We needed a place to stay near the airport with a car. This hotel met our needs. We didn't want to stay in an American chain hotel.

Certainly not a 4 start hotel by any definitiion but still very nice. The Good:: Staff was great and so was breakfast. Closest hotel to the Marina (Across the street) and ocean front. Bathroom and Bed are modern and very nice. LAN internet only in rooms but was very fast. Bring your own CAT5 cable. Free garage parking. Mini bar fridge in room, but not much in it. My charge after 3 weeks for parking, internet, breakfast, minibar etc was only 70 Euro. Room rate in November was less than $100 USD. Weather was like a Florida winter. very nice only 2 days out of 21 with rain. Bad: only 1 iron in hotel and no ironing board. Electrical plug only reaches 3 feet from front door so impossible to iron. No water boiler or coffee in room. No air conditioner during winter months, Have to leave balcony door open. Adjoining rooms can see directly into your room from the balconys. Do not stay here unless you reserve an ocean front room. The other rooms are 15 feet away from apartment building and you will have to keep your doors and curtains closed. Also have to get door key recoded everyday. New internet code everyday. Elevators freeze up and doors dont always open.

clean, would choose beach view room next time, efficient except for wake up call that never came. quiet night before long trip home.

Easy to get to, close to airport, right on the ocean, friendly and helpful staff, great rooms

Overall the hotel was fine. The only problem was they had not airport shuttle. They had promised a shuttle to the airport ande when we got there they said they no longer offered that. It cost and extra 60 euros to get to the transportation we needed. We would have never stayed there if we had known. We were real angry over that issue as would any person. I would recommend this hotel if you had a car.

It sure looks pretty and modern. I enjoyed my hot bath and liked the clean modern lines of the decor. However, this is where the modernity ends. There is no wifi in the rooms - only in the lobby. I stayed at hostels in Rome and every one of them had wifi. Also I specifically booked this hotel to be closer to the FCO airport and the hotel offered an airport shuttle. I was sorely disappointed to find out that this service ended back in February so I had to take a taxi for 25€. And lastly, I booked this hotel because supposedly the sea view was beautiful. There is current construction of a building going on that blocks most of the sea view. This is quite unfortunate. I am sad to say that I will not be back.

Good, nice, clean hotel. Location is perfect, across the street you have the beach and a open shopping area with lots of restaurant/bar, ans stores. About a mile away u have the downtown area wich has everything you need. Also a shuttle will take you all the way to the airport and other places if needed. Its a few miles from metro station but once there u can catch a train and be in rome in 30 to 45 min. Really enjoyed the stay, it was a nice break from busy Rome.

This hotel was beautiful! It had a beautiful view of the Mediterranean, across from the marina, near shopping, restaurants, the local bus line, the staff was helpful and courteous. It was great!!!!!!!!!!

Room was small with little room outside of its king-sized bed. Bed was rock solid firm. Room needed a chair or some other place to read or view TV. Restaurant food was excellent, but no English dinner menu. Waiter provided some help with interpretation. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Hotel was across the street from the ocean with a very nice paved walkway and riding/running trail extending as far as could be seen to the east (?). To the west was a huge upscale marina (Porta Roma) with an extended several block-long plaza of shops and eating establishments. Four-story housing behind hotel, however, revealed lots of cluttered balconies, barking dogs, etc.

Stayed here 22 May 2012 for a layover at the airport. The cab ride is $25 euro, fixed price to the hotel. The hotel has a shuttle back to the airport (but not to the hotel). Make sure you take a local taxi (Fiumicino), not one of the Rome ones, which will be more expensive. The hotel is clean and rooms are spacious. It is close to the airport and the plane noise is significant, given that the planes take off over it. Try to get a room that faces the sea - the hotel is right on the beach (this is by far its best feature). If you get a room that faces the back, you'll be looking onto an apartment complex. When I was there, a constant companion was the barking of small dogs. Internet is free - wifi in the lounge and wired in the room. Breakfast is 9 euro, but not worth it. There is a McDonald's nearby as well as several inexpensive pizzerias.

We really enjoyed our stay at Barcelo Aran Blu. The hotel was modern and cool in design but still comfortable and affordable. The didn't have wi-fi in the rooms so that was the only drawback I experienced but the staff was responsive, kind and had great suggestions and the overall hotel was quite nice.

Free shuttle to the airport .hotel has a very nice ocean view. Very nice place away from the city.

I generally don't get too excited about staying at hotels. As long as I have a bed, and a shower with some hot water, you have made my day. I aint no prima donna. Well, I was completely blown away by the amazing staff, spotless rooms, huge breakfast buffet, modern amenties, and beach front location. I had booked this hotel with some trepidation because it was out of season, and it's location was at the far end of Ostia. I feared that I would be ignored and underserved by minimal staff who were biding their time until the beach crowd arrived. No worries. I ate like a pig every morning (meats, cheese, cereal, yogurt, pastries, fruit, juices, breads, jams, coffee, etc.), watched great Serie A matches at night (forza Roma!), and found a spotless room with clean sheets and towels everytime I returned to my room. I can only assume that they thought that I was George Clooney traveling incognito, or something. And, lest I forget, the view from the hotel is fantastic. The harbor next door is filled with charming boats, and the beautiful Mediterranean stretches out in front of you across the horizon. I couldn't have been any happier with my experience at this wonderful hotel. One caveat: I had access to a personal driver during my stay, so I do not know about bus/taxi access to central Ostia. If you have to walk, you will want to have very comfortable shoes.
