We arrived without reservations on a Friday evening about 7:30pm and had no trouble securing 2 rooms. Our room was very clean, beds comfortable. The bathroom had a walk-in shower, but no tub. Breakfast in the morning was very good, make-your-own mini waffles, eggs, sausages, as well as a variety of cereals, fruits, yogerts. Everything you could want. Restaurants nearby.
The room was clean and smelled fresh. The breakfast was OK, the regular Sleep Inn make your own waffles, hard boiled eggs, eggs and sausage, rolls, toast, juice, coffee, etc. Reasonably priced and would stay here again.
Check-in lady was really nice...in fact, we were upgraded from a queen to king for no extra fee. We thought the room was very clean, no bathtub (we only need a shower anyway), just a sliding door to separate the toilet/shower from the rest of the room. The sink is one of those raised, bowl type sinks (nice). Plenty of choices for breakfast. Plenty of restaurants in the area to pick from.
I spent nearly a week at this hotel...I highly recommend it to anyone who needs to spend a night or more in the Rockford area. Reasonably priced, very well kept, and friendly service. I had originally booked with another Choice hotel nearby and was terribly disappointed. The next morning I came to the Sleep Inn to check its condition...the young lady was very accommodating, showed me a typical room and set up a reservation for me to arrive later in the day. Immaculately kept...even the brass kick panels on the doors were shined. Exterior of the hotel as well as the parking lot areas were well maintained. Plenty of nearby restaurants, some within walking distance, to satisfy your appetite. It's a short distance from I-90 which was nice as well. Overall great experience...again, highly recommended.
This is an average budget hotel, but okay. It is convenient to shopping and restaurants. Rates are reasonable. Breakfast is okay. Worth considering for a short stay. Rooms are fairly small, but they have refrigerators and microwaves.
This hotel is in major need of a renovation. Very tired furniture, paint on walls, carpet, etc. Shower floor absolutely nasty (see pics). Felt dirty being there. Smelled like air freshener used too much to cover up underlying decay. Asked for different room but same problems. The saving grace in this hotel is the awesome staff...everyone we encountered was wonderful and we felt they were trying to make the most out of a sad situation.
We were attending a large event in the area and knew the choices would not be plentiful but were not willing to spend major bucks for a night's sleep and some breakfast. We come to this area a lot and it gets expensive. So, yeah, the place is in a 70's time warp with orange-brown striped carpet in the hallway, fugly light brown walls which look like paint over particle board (it's not, but I just don't know how to describe the texture.) Hallway is narrow and rooms are a bit small. One thing I did not like was the bathroom in the room we rented is separated from the room by a sliding pocket door. The width of the bathroom is the same width as the shower stall (no tub but that is OK with me.) The shower head water pressure and temperature were fine. The sink is outside the room and it's one of those elevated bowl sinks--kind of cool. The toiletries are fine and they have a leaf motif going on so the soaps are green and leaf shaped. The room was small but the beds were VERY comfortable, lots of pillows, good TV, coffee maker, all the usual stuff. Just in a smaller, less luxurious atmosphere. The breakfast was fine. I didn't have much but I did notice a waffle maker, hot eggs and sausage, pastries, toast, yogurt, fruit. THE COFFEE WAS THE BEST I HAVE HAD ANYWHERE. Free newspapers. The staff was nice and didn't even question me when I said I had lost money in the snack machine; just handed over a dollar. Everything was completely adequate, clean as far as I could see. There were some nicks in the woodwork and the TV stand/dresser combo thing was particle board. But we didn't care. All we needed was a restful sleep and some breakfast and we got it.
For a low cost bed for the night, this place is fine. Nothing bad jumped out, nor anything outstanding to report. Breakfast was OK. stayed there because all other choices in area were booked. Would likely look for a more upscale place next time; personal preference.
We paid $128 WITH our ARRP discount but this was not worth that! The elevator and the hallways smelled strange. The room was relatively clean but there were nicks and poor workmanship pretty evident when you looked hard. The sink was weird and the water wouldn't drain out of it...? The beds were comfortable but the sheets were sort of scratchy. The breakfast had a good variety but it sure wasn't $120+ quality.
I accidentally left my own bed pillow in the room, and realized this fact after 6 hours of driving. I called the hotel, and Janice took the time to carry my pillow to the UPS store, and shipped it back to me (using my credit card, of course). Our room had a King bed, recently remodeled, and very clean. The only issue was that the shower door leaked. Janice told me that they are aware of the problem, and are working to resolve it. I enjoyed the elliptical machine in the fitness room - especially after a long car ride!
