Paula and Ashley on night desk were awesome, went out of their way to accommodate us. Young blonde guy on weekend days was useless, said he was too busy to call us a cab, said no restaurants open in concourse on Sunday, we found 6 open. And I went to the desk three times about no hot water, when Ashley came on she immediately moved us to a different room. Ashley and Paula should get a bonus. Blonde guy also ignored myself and two other guests waiting while he was on the phone getting his personal computer working. Good food but a little expensive.

Reasonable accommodation. The hotel does not own the parking and they use the public parking connected to the sky way (that is convenient). The shower drain was not working properly and I had to manually keep the drain open which is not fun especially if there is a rush. The restaurant on site could not use their grill or stove top that night, so not many choices for dining there

The bathroom is very small, the room size was large, but not very clean.

I was really disappointed to see how dated this facility is, especially with other great hotel choices in the immediate area. I would think they would need to keep up with the competition. My first room assignment was to a very dingy room with no windows, except for one interior window that looked out on a pool area with orange walls and no natural light. I have never seen any think like it. I felt like I was in a prison, so I asked for another room.I was then assigned to a room where someone had been smoking, even though this is a non-smoking hotel. The final room was fine. It was clean, but the overall feeling of the place was extremely dated. Granite counter tops doesn't make up for the old toilet with not enough power to flush toilet paper, and a tub that was backed up so when I took a shower I was in water up to my mid-calves. The gold painted doors and walls definitely need refreshing, and the orange carpet in the hallways combined with the low ceilings and poor lighting make for a rather depressing atmosphere. That being said, I do have to commend the staff as they were very friendly, and apologetic for my room assignments and the clogged shower.

Best things about this hotel are the comfy beds and the restaurant...great food!

This hotel is excellent if you want to visit the Mayo Clinic (as patient or visitor). It is directly connected to the Mayo Clinic over an extensive system of skyway and subway walking systems. It is a bit cheaper than most of the other hotels but it is very nice and quiet. It has a pool and a restaurant. There are lots of possibilities to eat nearby. There arils restaurants and coffee shops in the skyway and subway walking systems (although many of these are only open during the Mayo Clinic hours Monday-Friday).

The hotel was very well located in the heart of Rochester's downtown area. We never even had to go outside to get back and forth Mayo Clinic which was a good thing in December. The only real problem was that the room stayed at 71-72 degrees regardless of the thermostat settings. It was comfortable during the day, but we like things a little cooler at night.

Very dirty, very hard to get to ground floor and hard to check in on 2nd floor. Just not something I expected from a Holiday Inn.

Very nice and attentive staff. A bit of a hike to the Mayo clinic but everything is on the skyway.

Hotel has better pictures and some reviews that say they are great but except one person on front desk who was nice the second day of our stay, this place is to be avoided. Room was so dirty that the maintenance person told us he would not even stay there and it can not be cleaned. Front desk says as we had pre -paid for the room, we can not cancel and go anywhere else not did they have another room for us. Finally gave another room that was rather noisy and not clean. Next day after several attempt got transferred to another room which was quiet and ok at best. How could some one run a place like this and not be put out of business is strange. AVOID this place.

We spent one night in Rochester. The Holiday Inn was a great choice and we felt the price was very good. The desk clerk was less than friendly and we had to wait some time to address our needs. Breakfast choices were limited.

Proximity to Mayo is good. Parking not included. Room was average. Business center was non-functional. It was loud. Room service breakfast was good. Best part of the stay. Don't have high expectations and you'll be OK with this hotel.

Under the impression parking was included, thinking back parking was listed but did not say free parking, Though someone reviewed saying parking was limited, so got the impression it was included if you checked in early enough. The room was extremely small, with the bathroom located at the back of the room. Electrical outlets were hard to find and not very convenient. The room was very cramped, the smallest room we have had in US, more like a European size. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. I would not stay here again, not best value for the price.

We were here for medical reasons, not a vacation. Couldn't believe we had to pay for our own parking in their lot.

The hotel was clean and well kept. The room was not noisy. Parking was limited. Overall good location and friendly service.

Great location, went out with the girls- easy access to night out. Was slightly disappointed in the bathrooms and hotel bar but I would go back.

met our needs for Mayo Clinic visit and appeared to be worth the cost. Did have concerns with the housekeepers not cleaning all the needed areas or towels when they cleaned the room. The staff seemed friendly for the most part and did like they had shuttles.

Parking was not good it was not convenient. Water pressure in the toilet was terrible. Otherwise, everything else was fine. The TV was good. The bed was comfortable.

Hotel room: very nice, clean, modern, cozy, renovated bathrom, clean carpet, nice desk and offce chair in the room, micrvawe, refridge, coffe maker, nice bed, etc. All fo your comfy stay. Few minor things, but can't compain in general. Also free wi-fi in room and nice office center downstais. Resaurant, bar & food: i was amazed by sweet service, attention and helpfullnes from personel there. Like in upscale restaurant, 5+. The food was awesome and place had vaiarity of food choices, fresh salads, gluten free pizza, vegtarian choices... There were always people visible at the bar. I went to other fancy resaurants with friends in downtown Rochester, and this hotel's restaurant was not worse in quaity of food. I would strongly recommendto to visit it. They deliver to rooms as well. Swimming pool & sauna: these I was not able to visit :( I got excited by looking at photos on the web site and took my swimming suite, but the pool is located in the midddle of hotel, next to 3 corridors, other rooms, restaurant, front desk and has too way much exposure so I was not comfortable to swim in there. I saw mosty children swimming, and couple adults, but mostly swimming pool was empty. Sauna is even worse, it is right next to skyway to Mayo clinic and basically when you enter or exit it, or sit in there, you meet other people with luggage entering/leaving the hotel. Absolutelly not private. Won't recommend to take this hotel if you are looking at it *mostly* because of pool and sauna. Mayo clinic: this hotel is conected to Mayo clinic, so you do not need to walk outside. You need to take skyway (2nd floor) and then switch to subway (lower floor). The walk takes about 10-15 min going through different buildings. If you have handicaped person or elderly slower walker person, I would recommend gettig a closer hotel, as this walk migt be tough for tose people. Otherwise, very comfortable, and many shops/cafes along the way. Parking: well... The hotel parking is extra $$ which I could not find in descrption on the site. Be aware it is extra $13.5 + tax per day or you can just use regular hourly rates of public garage parking. I thought hotel should provide free parking like they usually do, this one does not. If you satay for a week, here is additional $100 just for the parking. Pets: again, this is not anywhere on the site! But the policy is: max 35 pounds pet, $75 extra fee upon checkout for cleaning the room (one time), pet should be in crate when you leave the hotel. I peronally did not find a good park/walk with your pet outsie of the hotel, as it is located in downtown surrounded by concrete. So for some trees you will have to walk few other blocks. Attractions: the major attraction of the city is Mayo clinic :) There is art cenr and theater in this town too, but I did not see many people in there. Majority come to the clinic. My main dissapinment with the stay was that I could not read all these details on hotel site and had to learn uppon arrival. But the positive is that hotel rooms, location and food are very nice.

We came to Rochester for appointments at the Mayo Clinics. The location and indoor walkways from the Holiday Inn to the Mayo Clinics was extremely helpful during a February visit to Rochester, Minnesota. The room was inviting, clean, and well maintained. The service, from front desk, to room services, to the restaurant/bar was excellent, with welcoming smiles. A public parking ramp immediately to the rear of the hotel provided ready access for unloading and loading.

Dear Valued Guest, On behalf of the Holiday Inn Downtown we would like to apologize for the inconveniences that you faced during your stay here with us. We would also like to thank you for the time that you took to do a review. The condition in which your second room was in should have never been a case. We try to monitor the rooms that people smoke in even though we are a smoke free hotel there are cases in which this does happen and proper steps are in place to take care of these issues. We are glad that our staff did hold up to your Holiday Inn standards and could help you during your stay. We hope that the next time you visit Rochester that you give us another try to make things right for you. Thank you, Guest Services
