My daughter and I were in this area to visit sights in Memphis-mainly St. Jude's hospital and Graceland. Graceland is about 5 miles north (wonderful & awesome) and St. Jude"s is about 9 miles north (sobering and inspiring at the same time.) Econo Lodge in Horn Lake is a very clean property. The rooms are large, with a microwave and fridge, plus a love seat. Flatscreen TV and large counter in the bathroom area. This facility has a parking lot that is very well lit at night. The breakfast is adequate-cereals and pastries, muffins, or English muffins. Coffee and juice. Not much seating-I preferred to take my tray and take my breakfast back to my room. The bed was very comfortable. There are outside entrances to the rooms and no elevator, but this is in a very nice area, with lots of options for meals, and a Kroger and Walmart nearby. Courteous front desk folks. Will plan to stay here again if we are in this area.
Room was one of the largest I've stayed in. Clean, great pressure in shower. Close to many restaurants. Does need some maintenance attention. Toilet was loose and rocked on floor, ceiling in shower was peeling. Bed was comfortable.
The first time I stayed here it was fine, but not anymore.. The room was outdated, furniture needs to be replaced, such beds, the couch, sheets, all bed linens.. Check-in was easy, last minute stay.. Bed linens had old nasty looking spots on them, asked for clean lines, still had nasty looking spots.. Not sure if it's under new management but that was my last stay..
Overall the hotel was good! However the desk help (Lady) needed to smile!!! Didn't thrill me at all by her attitude I got the feeling she didnt want to be there. Breakfast was very blah I had to ask for food when no one else was even eating..
Got in after 1am and they had out room ready. Staff at the desk was friendly and quick. Room was better than expected. Bed was good, room smelled fresh, good water pressure in the shower.breakfast was a little weak and so was the coffee. Good value for the money and a good rewards program.
This was a big surprise. The price was right, the place was clean, the bed was wonderful (slept like a baby). No complaints here. Even the flower beds were well kept and weed free. Every Red Roof inn owner needs to stay here to see how a motel should be run.
Great location from Graceland, only about a 5 mile ride North on I-55. Room was very clean and spacious. Parking lot was well lit.Area was very quiet. Continental breakfast was a disappointment. Not well stocked, out of things by 0745 hr. Fortunately many alternatives nearby including a Waffle House and Cracker Barrel to name a few.
I generally shy away from Econolodge hotels, but am glad that I stayed at this one. My stay was for about a week. The rooms have been recently updated, were super clean and comfortable. The front desk staff are warm and friendly. If you're a business traveler, you'll be glad to know that the internet is robust. Beds are comfortable, and the rates are reasonable. My stay here was very pleasant. The downsides are few and manageable. The drain in my sink was a little slow, but not so much that I brought it to the attention of management. Parking is a little tight, but manageable as well. During my stay there was fairly short but very loud domestic disturbance in the parking lot which was awkward... Finally, there are the airplanes... This hotel - as well as all the hotels in this area- is in the flight path for MEM when they are taking off to the south. The FedEx planes start taking off at 3:00 am or so. Just know that may happen if you stay at any hotel in Horn Lake/Southaven. To sum things up - During my next trip to Memphis, I'm staying here. No doubt about it! This is a gem. While this may not be the fanciest hotel in the area, it hits the mark on all counts and is probably the hotel that you want if you're looking for a great value for your night's stay.
Friendly staff. Clean and modern. Easy access of interstate. Would definitely stay again. Good value for the money. Close to lots of restaurants. Large flat screen tv. Breakfast choices were limited but good enough. Clean dining area.
I stayed overnight in this location. I was traveling a distance and decided to stay here. I arrived a little early and the front desk clerk was very nice. I wanted to check and see if I would be able to check in. He kindly checked a few things in the computer and then allowed me to get my room. I booked a room with 2 beds and upon entering the room the first thing I noticed was the great amount of space the room offered. Additionally, there was a nice sized TV and a nice couch/sitting area in the room. The couch was not made of cloth material which made me very happy. It was some type of vinyl or plastic which, for me, meant that it could be easily wiped down and disinfected so that I would feel comfortable sitting on it. Prior to leaving the room, house keeping showed up to bring me towels that they did not have time to put in the room due to my early check in. She was friendly. The couch area sat very comfortably. The beds were made nicely with 3 nice sized pillows (not those little pillowettes -as I call them- that are in some hotels). The room also came with a microwave and a refrigerator. The fridge was actually a nice one and included a drawer similar to a fruit drawer in a regular fridge. Their was also a long counter space that was in the little bathroom sink area that was really nice. The toilet and shower were in their own separate room which was also nice. The location of this hotel was GREAT also. It was right off a busy street with any an everything you could need or want. There was a grocery store not very far and restaurants and shopping spots galore. This was also the same on the other side of the highway which was not even a half mile "down the street". The next morning, check out was very smooth. I just needed a receipt and the desk attendant obliged. Breakfast was offered at this location but I did not partake in it so I don't know how it was. I did see the small breakfast area off the front desk. One small note, this location does not have elevators so if you are on the second floor you have to walk stairs. This was not a problem for me but some travelers may need this information. Overall I was very pleased with this room from the space to the decor and my interaction with the staff there. Will surely be staying at this location again if I am traveling through.
