Super cute historical Lodge, next to river, clean and modern facilities

It was very quiet and peaceful. Staff was very friendly

Casual comfortable with lots to do. Relaxing with outdoor 🔥

Great place to relax and get away from it all. I didn't leave the property whole time which was my plan. Did the trails on the property. Bear creek falls and dam overlook are good trails. Food was good at the tavern. Breakfast was ok. Lunch and dinner were great. Make reservations for dinner if you want to eat by river, a lot if locals and passerbys eat there too.

GREAT CABIN AND LODGE! AS ARNOLD WOULD SAY"I'LL BE BACK!"

We were really pleased with our stay at Tapoco Lodeg. Our cabin room was spacious but could have used a little more light and I wish it had said online that they had a Kerurig coffee maker so we could have brought our own k cups but the front desk had the decaf coffee we needed so that worked. The food was good and walking around the grounds was fun. If we had known they had fire pits we would have brought our own s'mores. It was a quiet place..

Very historic facility. Absolutely beautiful location. Staff went above and beyond. My wife loves history and she loved this place. Brownie points for me.

Still under construction so it was too loud. Did not like hearing trucks and the fact that you were just off the highway. Was expecting a quiet place in the mountains.

We were looking for a comfortable place to stay for one night on our way from Atlanta to the Great Smoky Mountains and we were happy to find an affordable sweet cabin at the Tapoco Lodge. Having a restaurant and bar with great food on the premises was important as it is quite a distance from any other place to eat. We enjoyed sitting around a bonfire at night and waking up to a beautiful view from our porch.

Great place all around. Will be making this a yearly trip

First off, we loved many aspects of the Historic Tapoco Lodge. It's very cool that it has been restored and maintained from it's original glory days, for the most part. Unfortunately it suffers from being located in a very small town, where some thought has not been given to today's modern guests. I get that the idea is to bring people back to "days gone by." But the days are gone by. Truthfully, my first thought was that this place was a lawsuit waiting to happen because if anyone had an emergency, the hotel is not equipped to handle it. There are no phones in the cabins, there is no cell service and no wifi. The main gate is closed at 10pm and there is only a night auditor on duty after that time. If something serious happened, you would be in big trouble because the lodge is at least 20 minutes from anything. On the other hand, the riverfront grill has decent food and GREAT service and the ambience of fire pits, rushing water and s'mores is hard to beat. The breakfast, on the other hand is a complete waste of 20 bucks. Bad, bad, bad. Don't do it! Drive the 20 minutes into town and eat somewhere else. We stayed in a cabin room in Santeetlah 3 and it was well appointed, large and the bed was very comfortable. We could hear the people in the adjacent rooms very clearly though, so be aware of that.

The lodge is made up of mostly originally buildings from what I can tell. The facilities are in great shape and everywhere we visited in the place was comfortable and we'll maintained. The lodge is within view of a beautiful river and one of the most revered sports car roads in the world. There aren't any other comercial businesses or resturants in the immediate vicinity. That's ok, because it's a great excuse to sit out on the patio at the rivers edge and eat the resturant's excellent food for every meal. One of the survey questions asked if I would recommend the lodge to others. I had to pause and think before I answered because I would prefer to keep this place a secret.

The lodge was very nice and personnel was outstanding with service. My stay was a very relaxing one with great drink and great food. I was so impressed that I want to come back in a month or two for another stay, either at the lodge or cabins.

Chose to stay on riverside, beautiful place. Authentic corporate retreat compound. Campfires and hiking trails.
