Days Inn Roanoke Civic Center

This motel is slowly disintegrating and there is nothing to recommend it. The breakfast options were poor and not well stocked (how do you run out of milk when one of your major offerings is cold cereal...?), the internet was intermittent, the bed sheets didn't even fit on the bed (they were too small) and kept sliding off. The non-smoking room still smelled of smoke and the buildings are clearly coming apart. Some of the shortcomings (like postage stamp towels) are typical of the motel experience, but this truly sinks to a new low in my experience. Find another place.

Found this hotel when travelling through Roanoak by car and needed a place for the night for myself and my two children. Check-in was ok. I used my 10-15 minute wait to wonder about the two people sleeping on the lobby sofas. Parking was convenient. The urine scented elevator was a short stroll down the litter filled hallway. The room was stiflingly hot when we entered. The air conditioner provided lots of background noise along with a trickle of cool air. Even blasting all night, the air conditioner never relieved the sauna-like atmosphere. The decor is paint-over-peeling-wallpaper. As the chain lock was broken, I barricaded the door with luggage and hoped for the best.

Bad smell in elevator Smoke smell in non smoking rooms but that's customers fault

No frills but a clean, comfortable place to stay. Nice breakfast. Would stay again.

Definitely recommend this hotel, especially for this price.

The room was clean. Everything worked did not have any problems

Great location. Really great staff! Was in a pinch and the friendly front desk girl was very helpful! I would definitely recommend this motel for a great place to stay in Roanoke. Nice rooms, comfortable beds, great pool, close to downtown, continental breakfast. Great price. You really can't go wrong here!!

Great location. But, overall. Just okay. Nothing special, staff was acceptable, rooms were average. Good value for the money for a couple of days.

i was surprised to see just how dirty the room was! the wallpaper was actually pealing away and the wall paper border was falling off the walls and hanging to the floor. the heater would not stay on and we froze.... but what do you expect for 50.00 :(

I was nervous after reading other reviews... But my experience was fine. I got a clean room (with 70's style bed-spreads), cable TV, a good breakfast, and a dip in the pool for around $50. Not too bad. Having said that, I was traveling solo, and probably would pay the extra $30 or so to get a nicer hotel for them. But again, for me, the staff was friendly and I got what I hoped to get for the price.

Room was comfortable and clean. Well priced for a one night stop over. Breakfast provided alot of options, from fruit to cereal to waffles.

Hotel is in a good location for what we were doing but it did not have a good contenential breakfast and the ice machine (only one for the entire hotel) was constantly out of ice. There are no sit down restaurants near by and it is in a fairly rough pqrt of town. I would not stay there again.

I have stayed in this hotel several times before but only cause of its location and price. But this time I found they had gotten better more comfortable beds and pillows and not I don't have a back ache at night and all day the next day when I wake up. The building is older and the rooms maybe a little worn but for the comfort now I WOULD tell any one that they should stay there and I'm even booking my holiday get away there today. The staff are really great and will help you any way if they can.

Everything about this Days Inn screams broken down, low rent, and gross. I stayed there because I was taking the Virginia Bar at the Convention Center and wouldn't recommend it unless you just need a place to crash. The common areas were nauseating, especially the elevator. The bed and bathroom looked clean and serviceable, but it still looked gross when you have a shower curtain stained with hair dye and threadbare linens. It is the kind of place that made me check for bed bugs, but didn't find anything. Some other things to consider is how noisy it is. You can hear everything everyone is doing and some of the people there are loud. It is about two blocks away from the Civic Center. The breakfast consists of doughnuts only. The staff is nice. My toilet broke the first night I was there, but they got a guy to come and fix it within an hour. When the maintenance guy did come, he was in and out, and we didn't have any more issues.

Hotel from twlight zoneOnly good thing about my stay was the front desk staff. Had to change rooms 3 times and police where all over....only the nice rooms are on the front, the rest are horrible

Everything was fine. My friend and I were there for my Son's wedding. It was a fantastic weekend and the Days Inn was a good place to stay. It was very convenient to everything we needed and we would definitely stay there again. And the price was absolutely fantastic. I would recommend this Days Inn to anyone wanting to visit Roanoke, Virginia.

This Hotel is located centrally to Roanoke Civic Center. The Staff was friendly and prompt with Check-in. I rented a jacuzzi suite, the room was large and clean, but outdated as typically found in older hotel buildings. The jacuzzi didn't work in the room, nor did most lamps. I notified the front desk of the situation at check- out and was told that I would be compensated and only pay for a normal room, but I would have to call [...]and take care of it myself. [...]

The place was horrible it was dirty and it smelledI complained to management all they did was spray air freshner which made it worse. There was coffee but no coffee maker, no garbage bag. The bathroom was dirty. But the worse was the smell. I ended checking out early and took a financial loss which I could not afford, but It was better to sleep in the car. I had to check in to another hotel spending more money than ever instead of saving money[...] I would not recommend this hotel to anyone

I thought the staff was friendly and helpful, but this hotel needs to be renovated. The walls need to be repainted to cover all of the stains. My key card stopped working every time I left the hotel. The mattresses were rock hard. The supposed breakfast was lacking. On a positive note, the AC worked, which has not always been my experience with hotels begging for repairs. Additionally, I did not find any bugs, which prevented me from labeling the hotel as a hellhole.

I asaked for early check-in. She refused, then when I did get to check in, she put me behind the staircase.
