Didn't stay at the hotel but made use of the barber shop, lobby and garden BBQ. Mohamed from the barber shop most properly gave me my best haircut that I've had in Riyadh. Professional, friendly and seems to really take pride in his job focusing on a lot of finer details and touches. Will definitely recommend and come back to him! Had a coffee in the lobby after my haircut while waiting for the BBQ to open and it was really a nice and relaxing experience with friendly staff and it really feels like you've been there for a while, genuine smiles and service. BBQ setting is nice and cool, relaxed atmosphere with a good selection of foods and again very friendly staff. Ate here before and will definitely be back here again. Thanks again to the team at Al Khozama!
I love this hotel for it's location and humble (old is gold) perfect food especially room service and the breakfast buffet. You know there's a good management team behind this and front desk very nice and friendly any staff will be very happy to assist you and give you information especially if your not familiar with the city.
The location is perfect - centre of the city. But the hotel should be refurnished, the rooms are a bit out of fashion. But are clean and the service is very good. Very poor Internet connection - extremely slow. If you need a faster connection you must pay 100 SAR - this is unacceptable.
Comfortable, clean has everything you need. Breakfast has a nice buffet. A bbq at night in the garden. very pleasant atmosphere. Staff friendly and coutreous. Hotel is in a great location. you can walk across to the Faysaliya Mall. definitely one of the best hotels in Riyadh. has a carpark also and wifi. will definitely stay here again.
Good points, all the staff bar those on reception who have trouble understanding the basics. Everyone else are very helpful and welcoming. It's cheap, well the roomies, the food on the other hand is out of this world expensive. And that is it. It's cheap because it needs a top to bottom refurb, paper thin walls and beds that are so old that they must have replaced the mattress with boards, I've never had to sleep on anything as bad, you may want to put a few blankets on the floor,it has a lot more give. Single beds (in these days?) are at an angle in the room and have a shelf behind where the headboard should be meaning that you cannot sit in bed. Shame
The hotel must be nearing its fourth decade of operation. I have recollections of staying there in the 80s. Previoously operated by Rosewood, it was once one of the preferred business hotels in Riyadh, ideally located in Olaya, and with an enviable reputation for service and hospitality. While the staff are still well-trained and service oriented, the state of the structure and condition of the rooms mean that even its 4 star evaluation is overgenerous. Noise in the corridors carries straight through the old-fashioned thin room doors, still opened by a key, so you can hear all who are catching the red-eye or checking in after midnight. The hygiene and cuisine are acceptable, but the public amenities are depressingly poor. Time to put the old lady to sleep, and rebuild on the site, which is definitely a prime location.
I first stayed at this hotel back in the eighties, which tells you the the hotel is old and many people might tell you so. However I think evaluation should be based on value for money and in this regard this hotel offers the following 1. Though old it has its own ambiance. 2. Business rooms are relatively well maintained offering ample space and v. good facilities 3. Very good service 4. Very good food 5. Excellent location All in all I would give this hotel a very good rating for its value for money you pay. Mostly people visit Riyadh for business not pleasure. Therefore if you don't need to impress your counter party by staying at say Four Seasons and you are cost conscious I would highly recommend this hotel.
Usually I stay in hotels northern Riyadh to avoid traffic but unfortunately those hotel were overbooked and the best availability was at this hotel.. The hotel location isn't that bad and next to a big mall (walking distance) but because of the road construction the traffic was unbelievable. The hotel is old and is under renovation. The hotel staff were nice, they were kind enough to grant me a late checkout till 18:00 because of my late flight back home. The atmosphere at the outdoor Garden Restaurant was one the best (depends on the weather 😅)
The hotel is pretty old and is in need of an upgrade. The check in was swift and the receptionist in the evening was very courteous and good to talk to. I was handed over the keys (yes keys, with a key chain!) to my room. It did feel nostalgic, I do not remember the last time I stayed in a hotel which had a key and a lock! The room was spacious for one and is not very well organized. The room service was ok. The room had an old radio attached to the side of the bed! The bathroom had the old fashion air dryers and the old phones (with circular dials)! The breakfast was just about ok, enough to satisfy everyone! The good pat of the hotel is that it is attached to the Faisaliah tower and has a back entrance for going in the tower. The swimming pool opens at 10 and closes at 6. I will still recommend the Holiday Inn (Meydan) for extended stays, in an around the area.
I had very terrible and worst experience with this hotel. I never expected such kind of response from front office team from this kind of 4* star hotel in this regionl. Unprofessional response and attitude was mainly from one guy Mr.Hussain who was there at evening shift. I was on an official trip and every time company is having the practice of paying the amount after the stay, More over our company having regular business with this hotel, on top of this the guy was adamant that I need to pay the amount upfront. Finally i paid cash deposit and checked-out next day itself. Room space : Very Small Room Rent : SAR 450(Expensive when compared to the service provided) Hospitability : Very pathetic and unprofessional Bathroom : Small Iron Box : Not provided initially Kitchen /Cooking : NOT AVAILABLE Local Calls : Not free chargeable Breakfast : This is the only good thing. Good spread Sound proof : very bad Wifi : Yes (Speed good) Key : old system Bathroom facilities : No complimentary (Shaving set, Dental, Sewing, Shampoo) Bed size : Very small Overall Feedback : Very bad(So far stayed in more than 5 hotels in Riyadh and this is the worst)
