Every day the same food at the buffet.Nothing special

We stayed for 7 days and overall had a great trip. 1. Hotel was clean and easy to navigate. Check in was easy. Had the basic room which was functional and clean bed was comfortable. Limited tv but we were only there to sleep. Would be nice to have a few more English channels. Shower was hot gel and shampoo provided. 2. Staff was amazing Rafael from the pool/bar and Antonio the concierge get 5 stars as they bent over backwards to provide customer service. 3 the staff members at the shuttle desk were rude when I asked them to help me call to verify my shuttle as it was not an "approved" vendor 4. Great value for food and drink buffets were ok did get a bit redundant after several days. Restaurants were good with great service. 5. Beach and outdoor spaces were amazing Thanks for a great week

I took my senior parents and their senior friends and we were given a room on the third floor with no elevator

Everything was super, the staff super friendly, food was good but drinks not to good, I think is because of the mixed that they use but I drunk beer, and the cortadito was amazing to start my days in the lobby bar. I'll comeback for sure

I enjoyed the beautiful beach, the hotel needed some improvement regarding the entertainment. There was not much to do especially after dinner. The food was horrible. Every day was the same type of food and didn't taste good. Drinks weren't good either. The beach made it worthy.

We had a nice stay at Viva Maya. Staff were good. No bar on the beach or waiters. Buffet could be upgraded with better food. The resort was clean and kept up well. Quiet place which is good for families and older people. Wifi service could also be upgraded. I had to use my own data.. Playacar is very nice and relaxing. Entertainment was good in the evening. This was our 3rd trip to Mexico. Overall the resort rates at a 3 out of 5 for us.

Nice hotel. Was there on Feb 5-8. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Food was not the best. Ate at the buffet style. Not at Ala Cart.

Not the best resort but def get your money's worth!

The grounds were beautiful. Room a little small but clean. The staff at nativities work great. The only thing I would recommend is there should be a Music change at the club. Retro/disco every night was too much. My family and I would have enjoyed more modern music and Mexican music to dance.

This was our first family vacation in Mexico. The hotel was good for the value. The room was very clean at all the time. The biggest value of this resort is the beautiful beach and exceptional staff that will make your stay enjoyable. The food was various and tasty. The only bad thing was the fact there was no AC at the restaurant and sometimes it can be very unpleasant. Overall we had a great time there and you won't make a mistake if you book there.

Amazing hotel with cool amenities (24 hour bar). Well secured making it feel like you are living in a tight community. Beach area was well maintained with tons of fun activities to chose from. The staff are very friendly and inviting. They kept the guests entertained when the weather was not the best.

Stay was great, food was awesome, especially in the San Francisco restaurant, great service and food. Great stay.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.. I would stay again and recommend to friends

Our 38th Anniversary, First time to playa del carmen. Great time, great place to stay, nice beach, good food, good shows, friendly staff, went kayaking every day. Would definitely return.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! HOUSEKEEPING STAFF TOOK ITEMS FROM OUR ROOM!!! On the 2nd day of our stay, someone stole a bag of clothing from our room. Security confirmed that housekeeping was the only person besides us to access our room that day. After getting the run around day after day... checking lost and found... checking laundry... waiting in line at guest services... they finally took it seriously on the last day of our stay and got security involved. By that time, our belongings were long gone. I wasted approximately 6 hours of my vacation over a 5 day period dealing with hotel staff to try to get our belongings back. They apparently talked to the person that cleaned our room who said they did not take the bag and it was left at that. Management never talked to me personally, they relayed messages through the guest services staff. Ultimately, we never got our belongings back and nothing was done about the items being stolen from our room. On the last day of our stay, I was told that I could file a report with the local authorities if I wanted to... and was told that management said to remind me that they are not responsible for items in the room if they are not locked in the safe. Who locks their clothes in a safe??? We were offered nothing more than an apology and that's it. They didn't comp. our room for a night... offer us a free t-shirt from the gift shop... nothing! WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD AT ANY HOTEL. By the way, they had a whole log of lost items so apparently this is the norm. Stay anywhere but here!!!

Overall, the hotel was very good. The first night we arrived, we were told they were overbooked, and that they were moving us to the Riu Palace for the night. It was inconvenient to have to stay one night somewhere else and move all our stuff, but honestly it wasn't that big of a deal to us. It was right down the street. Once we got back to the Viva, we were given an ocean front room and our safe for free for the inconvenience. It was a fair trade off to be able to walk right off our back patio onto the beach! The rooms were nicely sized, decently comfortable beds, and surprisingly quiet from any outside activities. You can't do much about the people screaming in the halls at 2 in the morning though. I can't lie, the buffet was pretty bad, but I went in with low expectations so I wasn't all that disappointed. We learned after the first day that if you get the foods they cook in front of you they're pretty good, especially the breakfast omelet. The food at the restaurants was great. The snack bar had good burgers. Drinks were never scarce, and the staff were all wonderful. I liked the small feel of the resort, and you can't beat the price! We were very happy overall.

Perfect hotel.. Quiet & Very Family Oriented.. The Staff Are Very friendly.. hospitality is great... The only thing I suggest is play music all day, it's nice to hear while in the pool

We stayed there for 5 days. We are not a picky family to begin with. The main buffet had no a/c. I was shocked. We couldn't stay there for more than 15 minutes to eat, there was only the ceiling fans running and it was not enough in July. My baby was constantly upset (7 months) because it was impossibly hot in the restaurant. Food was ok, and again we are not picky eaters. I really liked the desserts and fresh juices in the morning. Entraitement was funny :))) lacking big time. Pool was so full with people. There was also an adult pool , but we didn't go there because of the baby. Not a lot to do at the hotel, keep that in mind. Rooms were ok, just super cold a/c and no blankets. No fridge in the rooms, we had to buy bottled water at the little store. The only plus was the ground at the ocean, no rocks, very smooth. BUT compairing to Sandos Caracol this was something below average. The only minus at Sandos you have to bring the water shoes because it's rocky over there. Otherwise you get what you pay for. Will not go back.

Didn't get the room I reserved and didn't get refunded as I was promised from management

AMAZING RESORT!!! COULD'NT SAY ONE BAD THING ABOUT IT!!
