Thought it was just ok. Nice resort but not worth the money for these reasons: Internet was poor. Fitness center was small and lacking. One night they had vendors set up hawking things to the guests. Would not recommend. Front desk staffnot overly helpful.

One of the best ever if not the best one! The hotel, the rooms, the amenities, the food, the service, the beach, the bars/drinks, the entertainment (live music and dancing; we didn't do the shows) -- everything is five stars. The best restaurants are Indonesian and Japanese. The buffet is great too! It was my first time at adult-only resort, and it was amazing. The New Year's Eve celebration was wonderful! Would love to come back!

My husband and I visited Valentin in 2011, and again between Christmas and New Year in 2017. Again, this resort provided a great and relaxing vacation. Good dinners and an excellent beach. The weather was in the low 80’s everyday and humidity was low, just a wonderful 4 nights. I wish we had discovered the Don Miguel cocktail bar sooner, these were the best drinks by far! Also would have appreciated a hot tub, the pool was just too cold for lounging.

My daughter decided on a destination wedding and Rivera Maya it was. She had a great wedding planner, Fabiola and everything was beautiful. The food was great and the staff was execellent. Thank you to Angelo and Dora for making poolside so much fun. The property was so big that you will not see it all but go on a bike ride tour with Dora and you will get a taste. I would have to say that the beach was beautiful but not for swimming. Just a little to rough. We spent most the time poolside with our wedding party of 22.

Hotel staff, food, room where awesome We paid for round trip transfer from airport to hotel when we landed shuttle service did not have our reservation and we had to pay again, cash. Would like a refund!

This place is fantastic- food, staff, room etc. the beach was clean and beautiful. Loved the many choices of food! Tranquil retreat!

Just know: men have to wear pants at night to be able to eat dinner! Pros: food was great, Pools were nice, beach bar had swings in the sand (so cool), they provided floatation devices for the pool (big plus!), beach was pretty nice. The excursion/activity staff was very helpful and we explored Tulum and underground rivers! Cons: men can’t wear nice shorts to dinner, has to be pants and in Mexico that’s dumb, beach was mostly rocky, just one small area allowed swimming, we were charged extra things to our room at check out that we never did! And it took almost an hour for them to allow us to make a statement and take it off for us. The entertainment stage for events is in a big stuffy, enclosed room rather than outside and I feel no one wants to be inside all night when you’re in Mexico. Other small music performers were outside so we just watched them. The breakfast buffet wasn’t as good as other places we had been to, but at least they had one. And lastly the buffet didnt allow for a self-serving mimosa or Bloody Mary bar and we found that annoying. Sonwe started to realize: just order a glass of champagne and then add your own juice :)

PROS The grounds are unbelievably beautiful Great beach pool area was phenomenal The breakfast was very good many choices for everybody to eat. THE Cons Plenty of cabanas around pool area and beach But to use those you need to spend an additional $360 so you are able to use the cabanas on the beach side you have to walk 60 yd just to get the chairs because all the cabanas are in close proximity to the entry ways to the beach. The Italian restaurant was absolutely horrible the only food that was good was the steakhouse the rest of the food was typical on cluso food it was horrible the hotel itself is too far away from everything and cost a lot of money to take a taxi back-and-forth to enjoy other places And before we booked a fishing trip we were told that if we brought our group or back to the hotel they would cook it for us well when we showed up with the fish they said no

excellent beach and amenities and very courteous staff

This was our third visit and as always exceeds our expectations! You will not find a better property, staff, food, pool experience than here! Don’t even bother looking at others for the price and accommodations you won’t find anything better!

After doing lots of research we decided to stay here. Definitely a fabulous decision! The resort itself is beautiful and well kept. The food is incredible, the drinks are great- top shelf liquor makes a huge difference and there are not enough words to describe how awesome the staff is!As we read reviews we saw people have stayed multiple times and wondered why you would want to go back to the same resort and not experience something different...however after spending four days there we understand why people return bc we will definitely be back!!! Couple of tips I wish we would have known.... bring dollar bills to tip- it’s not required or expected but as I said, the staff is amazing and whatever they get paid (which isnt much from what we gathered) it doesn’t come close to what they deserve!! We hadn’t brought much cash but we will next time! Also-do bring some cash as it’s very expensive to use the ATMs..you don’t need any but it’s nice to have some if you decide you want to go away from the resort...$24 in fees to withdraw $100. Also- make sure to keep track of both room keys- you will need them when you check out or will be charged $5 for each key not returned. We didn’t realize we would be charged so as we were leaving the room and discovered we only had one we didn’t bother going back and trying to locate it so we were surprised when she said there was a charge. Overall, the Resort is top notch, we will definitely be back!!! Book it, you won’t regret your decision!!

My wife and I traveled with 3 other couples to celebrate a friend's milestone birthday. The resort was beautiful. An expansive layout where the many trees isolated buildings from each other... which made for beautiful walks through the resort. The pool entertainment staff was excellent... especially Carlos and Dora. The restaurants were excellent. My wife and I really couldn't find anything to complain about. I would definitely go back there again.

This was our second time at Valentin, and both experiences were superb. Top shelf food and top shelf alcohol makes this one of the best places to stay in the Cancun/Riviera Maya area. The staff is extremely friendly and will try to accommodate any requests you have. Please don't forget to tip them for their service. The grounds are beautiful, and the beach and pools are amazing. Bring plenty of sunscreen and don't forget the bug spray.

Relaxing getaway with plenty of comforts! Great beach & pool. Entertainment was much better than expected! Loved the activities staff!!!! Food was good. We always felt very safe on the resort property. The tempanyaki dinner was outstanding. Rooms spacious with very comfy bed, pillows, etc. Adult only was a huge plus for adult getaway! Overall pleasant experience. We would definitely come back again in the future.

Hotel was very clean and well kept. The staff was extremely friendly and had great customer service. All in all the hotel was great. My one downside to this hotel was the food served at the dinner restaurants. In my opinion, the food was just average, especially the Mexican restaurant.

I loved it. I'm only sad that we didn't stay longer. It was wonderful. The beach was lovely. We did nothing but relax. The option of food was amazing. And as a plus, they had Mexican night, with a Mexican buffet, a mariachi, and ballet folkorico. I am definitely going to return to Valentin Imperial.

This is our second time staying at the Valentine and it does not let us down. We endured a tropical storm and was amazed at how fast the cleanup was afterwards. Food is A+ and staff are A+ cost for items at the resort itself are the only thing I would complain about because they are WAY over priced.

We have been to Cancun and the Playa area 8 times, Valentin is one Of the best if not the best. The property is beautiful and so well maintained. The staff is the best! Great for couples although some singles where there as well but would not be my choice if going as a single. We will go back as did most everybody we spoke to, most had been to this resort 5,6,7 and 8 times! Do bring some water shoes the ocean floor is covered in broken shells and small rocks.

Fourth time visiting this hotel. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to Imperial Suite. All rooms at resort are wonderful and Imperial Suite is top notch. Food even better than previous stays. Photos of resort do not do it justice. Pools are amazing. Staff kind and helpful.

The facilities are top notch. Multiple restaurants, variety of views, amazing rooms.
