Overall very happy with my stay. Would recommend for anyone interested in staying in Tulum

The hotel is located in the heart of tulum. Walking distance to all nightlife. Short 5 minute drive to the beach too! Alex was very helpful and breakfasts was delicious! Great place with a great price!

FOURTH TIME HERE. LOVE THE PLACE. THAT'S WHY WE KEEP COMING BACK. IN THE THICK OF THINGS, AND THE STAFF IS AWESOME.

We stayed here because it is near the center of the "action" in Tulum. Before this we were on the beach in Ambergris Caye, Belize and after on the beach Cozumel, Mexico. Basically, we didn't mind being away from the beach for a several nights especially in Tulum because the beach is fairly isolated and very expensive. This little hotel was very well priced, very clean and comfortable, and very close to the center of the nightlife of Tulum.

STAFF COULDN'T BE BETTER. ONLY NEGATIVE IS THAT THE MATRESSES NEED CHANGED. A LITTLE LUMPY. OVERALL, BEST PLACE TO STAY NEAR THE ACTION. WILL DEFINATELY RETURN. ALEX IS VERY HELPFUL WITH EVERYTHING AND SPEAKS GOOD ENGLISH. FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE. SECOND TIME THERE.

The staff were pleasant, but had a lot of difficulty with communication. for example, on or first night, after a two hour ride from Cancun airport at 2am, we arrived at this hidden hotel, only for the staff to somehow communicate to out shuttle driver that we were not at the right hotel. After driving for another 25 mins we ended up at the same place, this time they let us know we were in fact at the right place...it was 230am. The Wi-Fi only seemed to work properly when standing directly next to the reception desk. So if your thinking of working while you vacation, I wouldn't suggest doing it here. Pretty much every cab and store in the area over charged us, one 7-11 clerk even tried to take the money out of my fiances hand when we were waiting in line...Cray The public beach was enough to make all of this right, but next time I'll likely stay in a resort

Had a great time. Wanted to save a little money instead of going to the all-inclusive and still be comfortable, and this place was perfect. Would definitely go back

We loved this hotel, the location is great in the city center, you can walk at night to have dinner or to have a drink. It was safe, even in the middle of the night. We had a car, so it was easy to access the beach front and very quick. Free parking, and always a stop available. The hotel is VERY clean, the swimming pool is awesome, it's like an oasis. The only thing they need to improve is the Wifi connection, it's enough if you only need to check your emails, but if you need to work it's impossible. But a block away you have a Kodak shop with computers and internet for $1 for an 1h, which is almost free ! I 100% recommend this hotel, and I probably will go back soon.

Great service. Couldn't ask for better...very helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Very close to Tulum's main strip, so very convenient (taxi to beach is just 5 USD. Few frills, but has a nice courtyard with small pool is nice. Excellent for the price. Get a room on upper level if you can...provides a bit more privacy.

This little hotel is in the center of Tulum. The rooms are very clean and with a great design.... not the best swimming pool but who cares... you are 15 minutes away from the best beaches in the world. A ++++

Not on the beach but close to shopping, restaurants and car rental. Cozy and generally quiet. Friendly staff, clean and new rooms. Very nice.

The hotel is just okay. My girlfriend and I really don't understand why it gets such great reviews on other travel sites. We had a nice 3-day stay there, but for the price, I would have expected better in town. First, I would describe the room as Zen minimalist, with an emphasis on minimalist. The air-conditioning and warm shower were blessings, but everything else left much to be desired. The pool is more for show than for use. Prepare yourself for the morning rooster alarm clock. The hotel is right next door to a shanty so you really experience authentic Mexico. FYI- The rooster doesn't know to shut off until after about an hour and a half. Also, the hotel provides only one very tiny trash can and your expected to put not only your regular trash but also your personal cleanings in there as well (no toilet paper down the toilet). I understand the environmental reasons, but it would have been nice to have a second trash can just for that. -- And, yes, that's my fault for not asking for a second one. As you can imagine, the shanty next door is kind of indicative of the neighborhood. One nice thing is that your just a short walk from the main drag in town where you'll find plenty of small shops and great little restaurants. The hotel staff can provide you with some great restaurant choices. The service and food at El Capitan were pretty good. There's another place that has a band playing in the evenings that has great Mexican fare as well as a great American-style pancake, eggs, and bacon breakfast if you get homesick. Now keep in mind that this hotel is quite far from the beaches. Even with the bicycles that they offer, you still have quite the ride to get to the sand. We had a car and even with that it took us a good 15 minutes to get to the beach they recommended. All in all, it's really only an average hotel with some Zen style. I wish I had an alternative to offer you, but if anything let this review serve as a heads-up. Happy travels.
