Stayed 4 nights with rooms backing on the courtyard, with balconies. We arranged for a Mexican chef to make us dinners in the courtyard Fantastic meals and all arranged by Lunata for us. Service at Lunata is first rate and very helpful with local info. The taxi prices are different for locals vs tourist price if you don’t know any better. Lunata advised us of correct price for a taxi. 50 pesos the cab driver and pricing signs all indicated 210 pesos thanks Lunata we will be back. 5th ave is a hot spot at night and the boom, boom from 8th ave goes on till 3 am then quiet. Take ear plugs to be safe, a great spot we totally enjoyed and close to everything

My wife and I originally booked this hotel for one night but decided to extend for two more nights as we were very impressed by the cleanliness, location, helpful staff, and included breakfast. We will definitely stay here again once back in playa del carmen. The location is right on the main 5th ave street. Easy access to everything including the beach and beach clubs. Tons of restaurant and shopping around.

Hotel Lunata is right off of the bustling 5th Avenida, but you would never know it as our room, which faced the busy street was completely silent. The hotel is on this main drag but it is set off from the street and there is a garden type oasis that makes up the back courtyard. The staff was very friendly and accommodating as well and the hotel is in close proximity to the bus station, beaches and nightlife. All that being said, where they were lacking was the quality of the breakfast. What was provided was a fruit plate, package of oatmeal and some kind of terrible textured sausage a long with eggs that did not look or taste appealing. The coffee was also terrible. Overall the breakfast which we paid for with the room was am epic fail which a provided breakfast is important when I travel. I would stay again in the future, but only if the breakfast were changed, which is a sad deterrent.

Beautiful and inexpensive hotel right in the middle of everything in Playa del Carmen! Walking distance to all the fun bars and the beach. They were also very accommodating when we had to update our reservation due to Hurricane Harvey; the resort we booked for second part of our trip gave us a much harder time. Front desk ladies were very helpful and housekeeping was top notch.

Situated in the heart of playa del carmen, this is a beautiful and family friendly hotel. Easy access to the main strip for pubs and restaurants. Amazing. The garden is a little oasis in the hustle and bustle of tourist life...

Friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. Enjoyed the breakfast, good coffee. It's located downtown on the main strip and a stones throw form the beach. Also the right end of town for catching the ferry.

Stayed 2 nights here. The first room we were put in the ac wasn't working well, so they moved us to a different room. The hotel was very clean, basic breakfast which was nice, friendly staff, very safe hotel. Only has 10 rooms and nice balconies and court yard to relax in. This hotel has lots of food choices, shopping and everything else you need close by. Staff are very friendly, and helpful with anything needed.

I was in a Jr. Suite. 2 full or maybe queen beds - very spacious with a balcony. There was a small TV, mini fridge and sink in the bedroom. Bathroom was clean, shower - water pressure and heat was good as well. The bed was comfortable and the AC was working perfectly (and adjustable). Wifi was strong in the room. I enjoyed the free breakfast one day, it was fine - eggs, toast, ham, orange juice , coffee...typical continental breakfast and a nice add-on. The hotel itself is close to everything: Souvenir shops, the beach, restaurants and bars. All in walking distance. I do like how they lock up the gates late at night. So to get in you need to show your room key to the night attendant. Since it's on such a busy street, it adds a level of safety that I appreciate. Cons: - The restaurant next door plays their music pretty loud until 2-3 AM. I was able to sleep through it because I was exhausted, but light sleepers or people with babies may want to take note. - Not really a con, but more of a suggestion : They should add trashcans in the bedroom and not just in the bathroom. FYI: - They don't have ironing boards/irons in the room and there is only 1 for the entire hotel. - There aren't any phones in the rooms, so room-to-room or to-reception calls isn't possible. - There aren't any Do No Disturb signs so they'll clean your room everyday or close to everyday. - There aren't any elevators so it's not good for people with disabilities or in a wheelchair. Luggage wise, they do provide assistance when needed. Weather wise in November, it did rain and it was humid. Thunder/lightening too. It didn't stop us from going on tours though. I'd definitely stay here again.

My family including my 2 small children just spent a week here. The location was amazing, we could walk to restaurants, the beach, the ferry to Cozumel, shopping. The hotel was very nice, large rooms, lots of little balconies and places to sit outside. I really enjoyed their breakfast too. I can't say anything bad about the hotel it was a really amazing stay, but the best thing about this hotel is definitely the staff. They are so friendly and accommodating. I have never in my life had the staff of a hotel willing to help so much and always with a smile. They really helped us be able to relax and enjoy our vacation, I'm very grateful for all of them.

This is an excellent hotel right in the middle of all the action in playa del Carmon. The place is clean the design is amazing and the garden is beautiful. We did get a garden view king room and could still hear the party until 4 am. So if you really want to sleep in playa you may want to sleep off the strip somewhere... which is too bad because this little hotel is fantastic.
