We enjoyed our stay, but were disappointed in some aspects of the facility. The beach and the pool were conveniently located; however the pool was too deep for some of our family members to enjoy and we found we had to continuously swim in order to get to the pool bar or to the other side of the pool. The kiddie pool and beach were great and both were conveniently located. The staff was very personable to everyone.

From check in to check out, everything was great! Angel deserves a special thanks and he is great! We had a room 8 steps from the beach and beach bar was right there. This place is huge with numerous restaurants which were way better than most all-inclusives. In fact any I have ever been to; especially the filet at the steakhouse! The pool was great with a great setting although we just walked by to check it out. With our room right on the beach in the very last villa and considering we are beach people we spent most of the days in the ocean or lounging on the beach. We even purchased goggles at the gift shop. There is a reef about 100 meters out where you can see all types of fish and reefs. Beautiful! There is something for EVERYONE here whether you are 3 or 83. Great resort and will visit again!

We stayed here for 2 nights. The food is very good. You can eat at the specialty restaurants every night, but in the end we felt like the buffets were best. The ice cream there seemed homemade and was especially good. The beach is nice with palm trees for shade, but they don't bring you drinks at the beach like they do at the resort next door. There is no good snorkeling at the beach there at all. You will have to buy a snorkel trip if you want to snorkel. There are tons of animals around the resort, which was cool, but there are also tons of mosquitos. Buy I think all of Riviera Maya is that way. Bring bug spray. The resort is huge but they have a lot of carts to drive people around and we never waited more than 5 minutes for a ride. The swimming pools are all 5 feet deep which I find makes them a little too cool and not relaxing, but they look beautiful. Most of the resort staff are super friendly and helpful but others are not. The segway tour offered at the resort was a highlight for my husband. The shows didn't start until 10:15, and we were to tired to go that late.

very organized and clean. There was activity everyday and we didn't have to leave the resort. It was one of the best hotel I have been to. Very clean and very nice staff members.

This is an excellent resort overall. It is shared by 4 other resorts offering all activities to all. The beach is beautiful and you can snorkel right there. We took a side trip to Chicheniza... Aztec ruin. Food was fine and rooms very comfortable.

This is review is a year late sorry. Palladium riviera maya is huge 4 hotels we stayed at Kantenah in a myan suite. Check in was seamless. Room was very clean and spacious the myan suites are close to the beach and have an outdoor shower! Pool/Beach- white sand blue water somewhat rocky in places the area in front of the Colonial pool beach area is very nice no rocks. Pool is huge and a little over 5 ft. deep. Bars by the beach and pool are good servers work hard drinks are good. Food- buffet is good the only reason I didn't give them a 5 was towards the end of our stay I experienced some stomach issues but not a huge problem it is somewhat expected with drinking and eating a good bit. Overall a great vacay would definitely go again highly recommend!

Had an awesome 4th visit here. We were upgraded to a Mayan Suite just steps from the beach. Saw some amazing sunrises and did a LOT of walking. Staff was awesome, especially Carlos at the Secret Pool and Javier at Hemingway's bar (air conditioned bar with premium liquor - perfect place for a nightcap). Food was sometimes hit or miss, but there is so much of it and so much variety that it's impossible not to find something! Now planning our next trip!

I went with my family last summer. It was great! Very nice hotel, an amazing beach, and the buffet was very nice! I would come back

This was the trip where I proposed to my fiance. But that was on the last day of the trip. Prior to that we had to experience the towel shortage and some long waiting times at restaurants. Of course, traveling over Thanksgiving week means that certain things should be expected - still, it was a bit disappointing. But - everything that was connected to our engagement was simply PERFECT. The staff, the location on the beach, the food - it was a fantastic experience. And even though I am giving Kantenah a 4 - we will definitely come back there. And I think we would have considered coming back even if we did not have a very happy occasion forever associated with it.

My husband and I couldn't have asked for more from our honeymoon hotel. We were located right in front of the beach. Staff was very helpful, excellent food and the pools were beautiful. We will definitely go back

This place is the very definition of "large" and "average". It's absolutely gigantic (it may be a full 10 minute walk from your room to the beach), and everything here screams "revolving door". The food is average at best and the service is highly impersonal. It does offer a nice kids water park and a fair amount of activities, if you are the type that must be constantly entertained. If you like cozy places that feel personalized, however, you'd do well to stay away from this place. The beach is large and the sand is clean enough - however, once you venture into the water, it turns out that only a small section of the sea floor (a little to the left of center) offers nice soft sand ambling around in the water along the rest of the beach is perilous, as the sea floor here is rough with rocks, coral, and god knows what else. There are definitely many better hotel choices available in Riviera Maya, in my opinion.

all expectations met. a wonderful place for families and friends. the staff was excellent and all requests granted.

We had a very good time at this hotel. We had a nicely appointed room which was cleaned daily. This was my first all inclusive vacation and I enjoyed it very much. There were a variety of restaurants and many bars including one swim up bar at the pool. Lots of fun.

5 star facilities with 1 star staff and 2 star food. The hotel is absolutely beautiful with modern facilities in a gorgeous location with heavy vegetation. Sadly, the staff and food do not match this quality. First, the staff. Upon arrival, the receptionist asked for our "password." No "what's your name", "hello", "how was your trip." I didn't understand what he was asking for, so I gave him the whole registration paper. He squinted at it, and started reading parts of it aloud to us, like "so, you have a standard room, staying here for 7 days..." I wasn't sure whether he was looking for information with which to locate our reservation, or telling us what we were getting. After this awkward period, I finally said "can you check us in? It's been a long trip, and I'd like to rest in the room." This prompted him to look for our package, which made him look through about 30 packages on the shelf, go in and out of the office, only to find our package in the midst of the 30 packages he initially looked. As if this experience wasn't frustrating enough, he tells us that the room was not going to be ready until 3pm (it was 1pm), and advises us to eat lunch at a buffet. We knew that late August was not a busy season, and there were plenty of empty rooms. Yet, he could not get us a room? Furthermore, we were asked to provide all sorts of additional information after the check-in including the passport numbers. Frustrated at the long check-in process, which took at least 20 minutes (according to my wife, longer), I was not going to give them such sensitive information, so I refused. When I asked why they were asking for such information, all the reply I got was "it's for our database." I didn't bother to ask what the database was going to be used for. It turned out that they use it for wi-fi access. Yup, if you don't give them your passport number, you will not have wi-fi. Now, Palladium is a huge place with 5 hotels all connected. You will constantly have to look at the map to figure out how to get to places. When asked where the buffet was, he just pointed at one direction, and said keep walking until we see it. It took a lot of effort not to yell at him for his apparent lack of professionalism at this point... We had to pass through 4 identical looking restaurants to find the buffet that was open for lunch. I am not a picky eater at all, and I was quite hungry, but despite the big variety of dishes, it was hard to find something palatable. It turned out that all the buffets or a la carte restaurants had low quality food, with the exception of sea food and the Brazilian restaurant. This turned out to be a huge disappointment for us. The ocean isn't calm. It's not like Caribbean where you can enjoy calm water right on the beach. Wind surfing, snorkeling, etc. were out of the question. The water is turbulent enough that not many were in the water. It's possible that it was a seasonal thing. Most people hung out at the pools. There are more things to say, but I am getting tired. My wife and I take all-inclusive trips annually. We have been doing this for quite some time. If our memory serves right, this was the worst hotel experience to the point where we don't feel as if we took a vacation - we had to work through lots of frustration on a daily basis at this hotel, which was work. Needless to say, we are never going back to this place.

Resort has a Disneyland size with separate trams for hotel lobbies and villa transportation--hectic to get from place to place Only room service is for Adults Only rooms Air conditioning broken in dining halls for 4 of the five days we were there--no explanation or apology All dining is buffet except for ala carte restaurants. To get a reservation you must stand in line at 8am each morning for 20-30 min. Info given by staff as to which restaurants need a reservation is conflicting. Only had one good dining experience (ElDorados)

I loved it! The place was huge, so many places to go inside the hotel. Good food, nice staff and plenty of activities available. Overall, I had a blast we are looking forward to going again next year.. :)

I had a great experience at this resort. There are plenty of things to do, many great restaurant to choose from. The resort is beautiful, it is a pleasure to walk from one part to the other. We loved it!

The rooms were spacious and very nice. The beach was gorgeous with some sandy areas and some rocky areas. Plenty of beach chairs. Lots of food choices at buffet and easy to get into a la carts restaurants. I love the jungle atmosphere. It is a big resort so quite a bit of walkiing.

Great hotel but expect a lot of walking! Staff were very friendly and helpful! Nice beach and pools with plenty of chairs available every day.

We enjoyed our stay at kantenah grand palladium , but just were not wowed. the good: - Rooms were nicely updated and spacious. each had balcony. we had jungle view , as did most people. Very few ocean views at this resort. -Beach is nice, and long. Lots of chairs on the beach with lots of shade palms and palapas. Never had a problem with getting a seat, even without playing the 'towel game' at the crack of dawn. -We did enjoy the tepanaki restaurant/show table, and went twice. To reserve a seat , you have to be at the reservation desk at the main lobby before 8 a.m. to reserve the next day. Not a problem for me, but if you are not an early riser, don't count on eating there. Seats go very quickly. -Buildings are separated by jungle type foliage, so each building seems secluded, and there is a lot of wildlife on site, coatimundi( a type of racoon), iguana, possum. Makes the walks around the complex interesting. They also have penned in flamingoes and crocodiles. -snorkeling off the beach is decent. the resort is also a short collectivo bus ride to akumal bay where we snorkeled to see the turtles. They are there year round and are spectacular. the so-so: -The house wine provided was lame. They were constantly trying to get you to buy an upgraded decent bottle of wine at inflated prices. I am not a wine snob. We took a collectivo bus about 10 minutes north of the resort to the chedraui (walmart type store) and got great argentinian wine for under 10$ a bottle. We drank that instead. -A lot of walking. I don't mind walking, good for neutralizing the large dinners, but if you were going for dinner or entertainment on the far side of the complex, it is at least a 20 minute walk. OK in February, but I would expect to be sweat soaked if I tried the same walks to dinner in May-Sept. They do have shuttles, but they don't run quite as frequently as I'd like, and are not door to door. It would still require at least 10 minutes of walking plus 15+ minutes waiting for the shuttle. Just not the relaxing experience you would hope for. We mostly ate at the restaurants convenient to our area of the resort, which limited us somewhat. If you have serious walking issues(we did see 2 people in wheelchairs, and some with recent injuries requiring crutches), you would be advised to choose a smaller resort. -Except for the japanese restaurant and the seafood restaurant, there are no reservations. That can be a good thing if the resort is not crowded, but February is peak season. If you got to your restaurant at 730, it might be 1 1/2 hour wait for dinner, or even no more available seats at some restaurants. We ate earlier, 6ish, usually no significant wait for a table at that hour. In general , though the restaurants were mediocre. We ate at italian, steak house, mexican and japanese. Would only recommend the japanese tepanaki. -No outdoor hot tubs? at a beach resort? Unless you would pay $10 per person per day to use the spa facilities. -No room service. I know this is not a deal breaker, but just not as nice as other resorts with room service. -No waitress service on the beach. Again, not a deal breaker, just not as nice as some other resorts.

the very definition of "large"

Families
