The hotel is OK. We did not expect much for the price. The rooms are small and clean and very friendly hotel staff. There were some ants in the bathroom and my husband couldn't sleep because the AC was extremely noisy. The other night somebody knocked at the door after midnight asking if we were the ones who asked for towels. I do not recommend to have breakfast in the hotel though, it's awful. We cared more about all the fun around than about the hotel. The experience was ok, but we are not going to stay there next time.

Very clean, great choice for an economical hotel in a convenient location. Everything there is SUPER clean. My one and only complaint is that the pillows were lumpy. I had to buy my own pillow at the store in order to be able to sleep. Nice, tasty breakfast. When it's busy sometimes they run out of buffet items but they work hard to refill everything as quickly as possible.

Took care of our luggage before and after check in and out so that we may maximize our day/vacation.

Good site to stay and go to tours, its over avenue and have a free parking site. Easy to arrive..

Always enjoy staying here. Good breakfast buffet in the mornings. 24/7 coffee free. Decent Wi-Fi and comfortable rooms with ice cold a/c.

This location is always on the ball and lends itself perfectly for my business travels. Clean rooms, gracious staff, 24/7 coffee, and internet.

always enjoy staying at City Express Hotels. Great rooms, fantastic service, and 24 hour coffee service with internet in rooms.

Well, overall this title accurately reflects my opinion of the City Express. First, let me start by saying the staff was very, very friendly. The people were very kind to us. However, I would not repeat my stay at this hotel. When we got there, they told us they had a shuttle that would take us into town and over to their beach club. We were told the shuttle left every 10 minutes and that it was free. When we asked two days later about the shuttle we were told there was no shuttle by the same man who told us there was a shuttle two days prior. We tried to ask for clarification, but the language barrier was too great. We left confused. Nonetheless, the walk into the main part of town isn't TOO bad-- probably just over a mile, if you're okay with walking. There is nothing at all near the hotel to do- nowhere to eat, no beach or anything. So, you need to be okay with walking. Also, the "free breakfast" is not good. They don't put out enough food and it's kinda nasty lunch meat and not so fresh fruit. So don't take the "Free breakfast" into consideration when considering this hotel. The thing that really solidified me not staying there again was that it's really, really, nosy. I think just the acoustics of the building. You can hear everything and they allow people to be in their common area until late into the night. There were people up late at night (12am in the common area, making a lot of noise) and people up early (6am yelling at their children) and you can hear everything that happens in the halls or other peoples' rooms. Overall, the price of the hotel was very cheap-- if you just want a place to sleep (with earplugs), this might be for you. Otherwise, to me, it would have been worth it to spend a few hundred more dollars and have nicer amenities.

We stayed one night before driving five hours to Xcalak. Clean and convenient for a stopover. Quiet. Breakfast was decent with lots of fresh fruit, granola, chilequiles, eggs. Really gret value.

In Playa del Carmen, this is my favorite place to stay on business trips. Clean comfortable rooms and coffee 24/7.

From the outside the hotel is rather plain looking. However once inside you see how clean and modern it is. The rooms are a good size and well laid out. The complimentary breakfast was very expansive with a great variety of items to choose from. Overall a great value and I would highly recommend it.

If you go to the parks like Xcaret and Xelha with the plan all inclusive this hotel is the best option. Yo will née this hotel only to sleep after a long day.

If you are looking something next to 5th avenue this is not the hotel, but if you look for tranquility and a quiet place this is the ideal! this is a perfect hotel to go around to all of atractions in the area, even taking a taxi you will get quickly to the beach and 5th avenue. Hotel cleanliness is great, great service and breakfast is just what you need to start a long day of tours! My wife and I definitely recomend this hotel. They don´t have restaurant but you have option for two express options to eat and they bring it to your door! Great place!

Excellent location, only 5 minutes from downtown. Huge parking area for guests. Excellent service and courtious staff. A must stay if you are travelling by road, avoid the hassles of finding parking downtown playa del carmen.

We arrived and were a bit disappointed at the location. When I booked it incorrectly thought it would be closer to the beach. It was about a 5-10 minute taxi ride but would be a really long walk. We wanted to be somewhere closer so that we could walk to the beach whenever we felt like it. We ended up taking a taxi to the beach area and booking another hotel. Then we went back and checked out. The place was nice and we have nothing negative to say about the hotel but we just didn't like the location and distance from the beach.

We spent one night in the hotel and it was a comfortable stay.
