Nice hotel and beach, good experience, good food, peaceful place

We came here on our honeymoon just recently and it was the best experience of our lives. First off, the staff was just beyond stellar. They were so nice, attentive and very helpful. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and it was so beautiful. Very clean and they kept the temperature of the room very cool. The pool area was beautiful. My only complaint there was the water was way too warm but i guess thats to be expected given the climate. The beach was also beautiful. Lots of seaweed but they did a great job at keeping it clean. The food: probably thr best I've ever had. I highly recommend the Tapas Terrace above the pool bar. Overall, i would go back to this resort many many more times!

I just got back from 6 days in paradise! I took my mom for Mother's Day and we'll never forget this trip. I do not have one single complaint. If there are bad reviews, it's because people have unrealistic expectations or there were underlying circumstances. First of all, the staff was so accommodating and made us feel so welcome. They really made the trips so enjoyable. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the beach was one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. The food was good. Even the buffet (which we only ate at once). I'm a gluten-free vegetarian and didn't go hungry. Every place had more than 1 or 2 options for me to choose from. The Terrace was our favorite! It alone is worth the upgrade to Privileged. There are a lot of resorts to choose from and I'm so glad I choose this one. Do yourself a favor and book here! I'll be back! Also, Expedia/Orbits sent us up a tray of chocolate and fruit on our last day to say thanks! Bonus point.

We spent 5 nights at the Privileged Maroma. It was gorgeous, relaxing, and really perfect! The food, service, and scenery were impressive! I would definitely return. Only thing I didn't like which wasn't a big deal was that our room's shower never got hot. The staff are all friendly and very service oriented. It was paradise!

We had a nice time at the hotel, the beach is beautiful

This was our 3rd time at this resort and won't be our last! The entire staff is wonderful and people truly seem to enjoy where they work. The food was good with lots of variety and the Ala Carte Restaurants were also nice. They have plenty of beach chairs both at the beach and the pool and they are the nice ones, as opposed to other resorts where they are made of canvas and sag over time. The beach service is wonderful, and the spa as well.

Beautiful place, very nice beach compared to many other resorts in the area, friendly staff and good shows. Very disappointing all-inclusive food. Location though is kinda far from Playa del Carmen. You'll need a taxi if you want to go anywhere outside of resort.

We just finished our 5 day getaway at Hotel Catalonia Privileged and we couldn't be more happy with the experience. The hotel staff is phenomenal. Everyone is kind, courteous, and will do anything to help you. The entertainers are very funny and very nice. Ricardo, Manuel and Jonathan stood out, by the end of our trip they were friends. Lucia is the best bar waitress at the Tequila Bar, and Juan is an incredible bar tender at the Beach bar. The margaritas at this place are the best that we have ever had. The food is good. The privaledged rooftop restaurant is definitely the best place to eat lunch and dinner. Most of the vacationers here are not American, we actually liked this aspect. It was fun to be around people from all over the world. Everyone there seemed very laid back and nice to be around. The beach is the best we have been to in Mexico! We will definitely come back again to vacation.

Arrived and was checked in quickly without issue. Room was next to supply closet-lots of noise. View was of a manicured courtyard, but in building closest to pool and beach areas. Overall the feel was good, food was not the best though even with the privilege package. Tapas restaurant was probably the best meal we had. Beef was tasty and not overly tough, but lots of fat with thin cut. Drinks were better, but be specific about what you want. Service was good especially on the beach. Shows were geared toward groups and ended with a picture for social media. Lots of frames around for additional exposure on social media. Long walk to buffet and lobby, but scenic with stopping areas. Don't like the photographers skulking around with animals. Only pesos-no dollars FYI. Might go back, but liked CRT better overall.

The staff was really friendly. The beach is beautiful. The shows at night were really good. The buffet was great, but we loved even more the other four a la carte restaurants. The food was really good and the service was excellent. It was a great experience!!

We bought a bottle of wine and did not drink it, the staff could not refund us. Also we had medical emergency and representative of Orbitz was not available and the staff just told us to go to playa hospital.

very good over all resort. most beautiful beach in Riviera Maya.

The beach is beautiful the food is not good what so ever. The rooms are out of date the guest service is not the best. Would not recommend to anyone, would not stay here pay the little extra and stay at a better one. The bed made cracking noises every time you moved plus on top of that we paid extra to be privileged status.

good service, food is better in others resorts with less stars. landscaping great. overall will be back for the awesome beach.

From start to finish every staff member is so friendly and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and the beach is deserving of a top ten rating! The colorful blocks of rooms are set amongst the mangroves making it a beautiful natural setting.

Everything was just great, got upgraded to a VIP room with jacuzzi gave us a free bottle of tequila, everything was amazing and the staff even better I will definitely recommend it. I will be coming back for sure!

It was amazing. Since right at check in, we were greeting by wonderful staff and got upgrades in our rooms which was perfect since it was a group of 7 ladies for a bachelor weekend. The service was great day in and day out. Food was amazing!!

We stayed for 4 days and we loved it. The staff was amazing and always so attentive!

The one downside for our stay was the inability of the room air conditioner to maintain a cool room temperature.
