Could not sleep the music blared till 3:30 AM from about eight nightclubs nearby it was horrible thank God I found a pair of earplugs I was finally able to get to sleep at 3:30 I had to be up at 7 o'clock for a flight home the next day absolutely horrible

Here's a recent review with all the information that would have helped me- The blue parrot hotel is a hidden gem perfectly located in the middle of all the day and night time action...and its one block away from the beach action. It is loud, but I dont think you'll find many quiet places to stay unless you go further out from all the fun. The rooms are nice and cleaned daily...there's a huge bed and the a.c. works great! The shower has a unique set up with a round partition separating it from the room. The water pressure works fine. You get beach towels at the reception area and you'll get the best prices for excursions if you book it through them once you get here. There is a safe in the room and there's security at the entrance after hours. This is a very safe hotel, with friendly and helpful staff, located in the best part of the city...I had a great time and I'm really glad I didn't let the bad reviews on here stop me from selecting this hotel.

No wi-fo during my stay. Close to everything and staff is limited English but very nice.

Fantastic!!! People are very friendly. The customer service was unique. Perhaps a cup of coffee provided in the mornings could make it better... =)

I traveled with 2 friends for the long weekend The hotel was simple and basic, enough for a short stay and if you plan to stay out side all day The staff was friendly help us book a tour to chichen itza at a really good price They lend you towels for the beach, but they are not related to the blue parrot disco and beach club as it says on the add. Has a really good location though, right in the middle of everything

At the middle of 5th Avenue, one block from clubs, restaurants, bars, shops, great for young people who wants to party their brains out! all day, all night long, any day a week. Not good for families though, very noisy all the time. If you need a cheap and OK place to stay and sleep, this will be a good option. I don´t complain at all, my plan was to getaway and party so, if thats what you want.. also if you take tours to all attractions of the Rivera Maya, shuttles stops just a block and a half from the hotel.

Everything was great except that is surrounded by clubs.did not sleep at all our first night here, very loud music kept us up all night until 7:00 am the following morning.we ended up sleeping with earplugs for the next 7 nights, very uncomfortable.breakfast and beach club are not available like post it on our itenerary.if you come to playa del carmen to relax this is not the place for you.

Perfect for party goers. One block from all nightclubs. You can hear the noise from the clubs up to 5am. This hotel on 5th. Street is no longer related to the suites with the same name in front of the beach. Therefore no access to beach, or pool amenities. This hotel is good for when on a budget and interested in partying until late. That is all. Rooms are outdated and the TV from last generation.

We supost to have the breakfast and and the Acces to the Beach Pass and the staff where not aware of it and it was not truth :( they acomedate with the breakfast but is a not fun to have a discussion for what is offering to you on the site. Besides that the stuff where very friendly and able to solve it but not beach club it all. Some of the pictures doesn't Mach with the hotels :( so you don't know where you staying

The location was excellent, me and my friends went to Playa del Carmen simply because we want to party at night and relax at the beach durging the day. This place have both things, its only a few feets from the beach and around ther corner of all the best bars and dance clubs in Playa del Carmen. The hotel was great, we were 6 friends and stay at 2 suits that connected thru a third floor terrace, it was awsome.. I reccommend this hotel!! and the price for the hotel plus car... it was the best price in all the web....

The hotel was ok. The picture that is used on the site is of a higher class of rooms at another location. The hotel is in two buildings one is suites the other just a building with rooms. The main office is at the blue parrot club on the. beach, but the actual rooms are each 2 blocks in different directions. Ours was directly on 5th avenue, about 2 1/2 blocks from the beach. Our friends got a different room at the condo units for a substantial amount more for the stay. The room was basic... shower was in a corner of the room behind a curved wall. We had a king bed that was very firm. the safe was not operational, someone had removed the locking mechanism so we just hid out things in the room. Overall the room was fine, we only were in it at night to sleep, and the AC, which we couldnt not adjust, was nice and cool. The breakfast is a bit sparse as well, you get a few slices of fruit and coffee. If you want more you must pay; eggs, bacon, etc. For the price, and the location it is a reasonable deal.

The suites were very clean and decorated in a carribean style . The bed was not a sleep number but comfortable. Kitchenette had a good variety of supplies The .pool was small in a beautiful garden court yard. The location we thought was great close to the 5th ave action and the beech . The staff was wonderful and so nice. we had a breakfast included it was fruit toast coffee and juice small for extra one could order off a reasonable menu . we stayed 5 days and would go back.

If you want to party, this is a good spot to stay. It's not in the midst of the craziness, but just a block away. If you do not want to party the night away, its just loud enough where it could disturb your rest IF you don't come from a noisy city. The breakfast is included and the staff are very friendly. They do provide beach towels and a place to rest. I had no problems at all and I would recommend this place.

I do NOT recommend the Blue Parrot Hotel. I booked a room at a hotel on the beach so I'd have access to chair and umbrella service, however, at the Blue Parrot they blast trance and club music at the beach, which gets progressively louder as the day goes on--not at all relaxing. I found out that many of the patrons had complained to the management about this, but management didn't care--they're more interested in attracting the party-goers willin to spend lots on alcohol--but there were none of these party-goers staying there. One day came back to my room at 4:30 and found that it still hadn't been cleaned--and they didn't seem nearly busy enough to warrant poor service.

The hotel is noisy. In the beach club, you are obligate to tip every time and if you don't do it, the people really get mad. Also the beach club is very noisy because electronic music.

The Rooms are ok, clean, A/C and TV with Cable. Good location just at 5th avenue. The only problem is that this should be used only for travelers who go to bed at 5:00 a.m., that means all night party.... The Hotel is too noisy all the night until 6:00 a.m. becaus there are al lot of night clubs arour there.

Room had mold in it, causing us both serious breathing issues. Hotel was unable or unwilling to change rooms. We left and paid for a second hotel out of our own pocket. Less serious, but potentially annoying was a pounding level of noise in the hotel.

Here is what I was told about Playa del Carmen, "it is a beautiful place with tons of shopping, dining, and nIghtlife." It's all true. There were so many things to do and so little time! So the big question is, why did i rate them so low? Well the truth is, the city is wonderful, but the hotel was sub par. When we first checked in our plan was to drop off our bags and head straight to the beach. During our walk we were delighted to see so many clubs and restaurants right next to the the beach. After a few moments in the sun, we headed straight to the most popular restaurant on the "strip." The food was good there and we were hoping that this was a sign that the next few days will be even better. We were wrong. As we arrive back to the hotel we notice that the room has the aroma of mildew. The cause? Not the relative humidity, but a leak in the roof. When we asked to have things taken care of, they just sent someone in to clean the water. Considering it was during the holidays, another room was not possible. So, we just laid out some towels to prevent the water from pooling and we figure that no more rain is in sight and this is Mexico (nothing but sun, sand and relaxation). We put that behind us and that night we tried to sleep. It didn't happen. We were kept up all night by the refridgerator, which was so noisy that it was actaully louder than the noise that all of the nighclubs' speakers put together. Upon our waking we also notice a few more things. There were rust stains on the sheets and they only have the sheets replaced three times a week. Luckily there is a supermarket four blocks away! We stocked up on disinfectant and tried to just focus on the vacation we were on. Playa del Carmen is still awesome to go visit, but i will never stay at this hotel.

I stayed 5 days at the Blue Parrot 5th Ave, the staff were very courteous. I checked into the wrong hotel, the Blue Parrot Beach, and they kindly escorted me into their 5th Avenue hotel, both hotels are literally a couple hundred feet from each other. The staff would call the tour companies upon my request, to confirm my tours, and wake me up when I'm late for a tour (that happened twice), and when I ordered dinner from their beautiful restaurant downstairs, I'd go back upstairs to change and get ready for the night scene, and the staff would call me when my food was ready. Had a nice king sized bed, towels, bottled water, and soap are replaced daily and without me asking. A/C was strong, but shower was weak and would run out of hot water after prolonged use. I imagine that might become a nuisance to female guests. Also the room safe was broken, and there was a hole in the blinds so people outside could peek into the room. I stuffed a sock to plug the hole, problem solved. I don't let minor details like that get in the way of my vacation. Okay, it is extremely loud on the weekends, since both hotels are located within the vicinity of like a dozen bars and clubs, and the party goes til 5am, so unless you are here for the party and fun and don't plan to go to bed before 3am, you might want to check into a hotel that's a bit farther from the club scene. It's perfect for singles and friends that plan to do a lot of partying because the hotel is literally in the middle of everything. There are dozens of restaurants and shops spanning either direction as soon as you step outside the hotel, and I already mentioned the clubs. The beach is a 2 min walk, and free beach towels and lounge chairs come with your stay at the Blue Parrot. You also get free access to their club at night, everyone else has to pay like 15, 20 bucks to get in, so like I said, if you do a lot of partying like I did, this place is pretty awesome.

It's a nice hotel, very neat and they have nice service but you can hear all the noise from the clubs and restaurants at night so you`ll probably stay late as well.It does not have a pool but you'll have the sea a block away.
