The hotel personnel is not nice at all, the do whatever they want they don't even care if you are in the room and open the door 7am, they never know anything, they called me 1 am to ask who was staying in my room or if was alone really disturbing. They were bugs in the room we had. There is no clean useful beach infront of the hotel, food is no good.

Awesome place! Great location and wonderful interactive staff.

This was our 6th (?) Mexico visit so we've seen all the goods and bads and had something to compare this visit to. First the good stuff: food, food, food. Great variety, 6 or so restaurants..Awesome huge pool, pretty clean too. We also had a small private pool which we didn't really use. We did enjoy the convenience of the on-site kids club. Friendly staff and we felt safe sending there our 8 y/o pretty much daily. Now the negatives: beach was a disaster. While they tried to clean up the seaweed as much as they could.. everything else was nasty. Cigarette butts, dirty sand, trash... if I ran the resort this would have been on my day #1 to-do. AC in the room was very weak and was leaking. They fixed the leak; started again two days later. Room service was horrendous. Our room was cleaned every other day and we had to ask. Perhaps it was due to its location at the end of the hall by the public bathroom (this part actually didn't bother us much)....... The resort was infested with "Mexican raccoons" (basically a rat with a cat tail) and they were everywhere, all over the trash bins. Drinks were good but then my wife witnessed how they washed the plastic cups. While the resort had enough cover/shade/umbrellas, you still have to get up at 7 to "reserve" your spots or else you are out in the bare sun. Overall this was an OK/good experience (definitely not the worst) but we would not come back.

Great pool; good food; great service; beach was not good(very small and lot of sea weed) ;alcohol was watered down

This an excellent hotel to rest , good food, friendly employees, good location, the beach is not the best but it's not the hotel fault, the animation team is a plus. One of the main pool by the beach is under renovation but it didn't bother us.If you are like us that love the wild life you will fall in love with all of them.To eat in the a la carte restaurant you might need to make reservation one day ahead. The a/c work fine in our room which is a plus after a long day hanging in the beach, I would like to recomend this hotel to my friends and family , see you next year Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda.I would to thanks to all the employees of this beautiful hotel that made our vacation unforgettable.

very good hotel, but the trouble is when they try to sell the membership treat you badly but you buy

Great Resort and location. Food was good and with wide variety. Great value for the price. Staff was friendly.

We got an excellent deal on our vacation and for the money! The resort was nice and clean, comfortable and overall fun! My fiancé and I had an excellent stay.

ROOM HAD ROACHES AND WHEN BROUGHT TO THEIR ATTENTION, WAS TOLD WHAT DO YOU EXPECT, YOU'RE IN A JUNGLE. ASKED FOR EXTRA TOWELS TO COVER THE DAMP/SLIPPERY FLOOR AND WAS TOLD WE THERE WAS A LIMIT OF (2) MORE BECAUSE OTHER ROOMS NEEDED TOWELS AS WELL. DIRTY BREAKFAST DISH REMAINED ON THE DRESSER AFTER HOUSEKEEPING SERVICED ROOM. HAD TO PAY WI-FI COST FOR EACH ADD'L DEVICE ABOVE (1). LUNCH AND DINNER WAS BARELY EDIBLE. HAD EARLY CHECK-OUT @ 4:30AM AND GOLF CART/SHUTTLE WAS 30 MIN LATE EVEN THOUGH WE REQUESTED CART NIGHT BEFORE THEN DRIVER COULD NOT BE BOTHERED TO RETRIEVE OUR LUGGAGE FROM ROOM, HAD TO BRING TO HIM INSTEAD. VERY DISAPPOINTED ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE AVG PRICE PER NIGHT OF $400+.

The hotel not meet my expectations , beach not good, service not good

We had a great time, it was our 5th time at Bluebay! They are very accomodating (we asked for a room change closer to the main pool-they changed it the next morning like they had promised). The food was outstanding!! We got to Riviera Maya twice a year, and it is the hotel with the best food. The rooms were very clean. Overall, it was a fantastic hotel!

The beach is dredged in and a little sketchy, but the hotel is beautiful, the food is plentiful, and it's very relaxing.

The grounds are nice and large but they have a cart shuttle if you don't feel like walking. Not far away is a cenote river that dumps into the sea. It is highly recommended. To get there go down to the beach and facing the ocean make a left and walk about about half a kilometer.

Overall Blue Bay is a great resort and service in general is great. Unfortunately a couple incidents happened when we arrived such as the front desk personnel treating in a not so politely manner. Then we had to walk carrying our luggage and kids for about a mile to our room. the rest of our stay was pleasant and had a great time.

Great experience! Great staff and the food was delicious.

Resort was very scenic and rooms were clean, however the food, drink and service was just ok! Our air conditioner didn't work all that great but we were able to get cooled down from the ceiling fan. When we called for roomservice 3 different times for different things it took forever for them to respond. Once it wasn't until the next day. The restaurant's you had to make reservations at had bad service and food wasn't all that good. Buffet food was much better. Don't think we would return to this resort again.

The resort is huge so expect a lot of walking. Switched rooms about 3 times due to a/c not working and such but would stay again for the price.

The service was terrible, the food was not good and the entertainment is a joke. The only thing that was good was the pool. Everything is very far, they don't have enough waitresses, they do a lot of noise with carts that they push to clean the rooms, you never can take a nap. Before going to the hotel I read the bad reviews and though that it could not be so bad, but it is. Just don't go. The beach is terrible and I never had the courage to leave my kid on the kids club. Worst experience in hotel in my whole life.

I was kind of skeptical coming to this hotel after reading the crazy reviews but overall it was a great experience. The only downside was the lobby that had no AC because it was an open floor plan. Drinks were made very well as well as having ample shuttle service to and from building to building. I hope this review really helps me and my boyfriend enjoyed. Check out COCO Bongo if you can this really topped off our trip to Mexico other than that we spent most days drinking and hanging by the pools and restaurants. NOT too much entertainment in the hotel except for the dinner shows and in one of the bars that's really hot but enjoyable. In the morning wake up early to catch breakfast while its HOT!! That's when its the best. I went in AUG 14' and I was hesitant because that's when it's said to rain tremendously and none of that occurred even tho the forecast had rain the whole week we were there. Either we dodged a big bullet or we missed the really early showers that later dried by 9/ 10 am.
