Food lacked in flavor and variety. No English speaking staff. The only people that did speak English were the Time Share sales people. No greeting on arrival, no one to take me to my room. Waitsatff was wonderful. Only wine on the bar was house brand white. Had a great time in spite of the drawbacks. Will return to Cancun but another resort

The staff was very attentive. We would like to recognize Humberto, Moises, Ricardo and Alejandro in the buffet restaurant. They were very friendly and provided excellent service.

We stayed at Allegro for 9 nights (11/10-11/19). This is a 2 star motel :). Rooms are super small, there is no hot water in the sink (only in thw shower). We could hear other people couthing/talking/flashing..through the thin walls

Great trip , great service, great food, and wonderful weather. Except for an airport fowl up with our transfer to the hotel (no thanks to orbitz) a wonderful time. This resort is a little gem that you should try

We had a wonderful room extremely close to the beach and the pool! The pool can get a little noisy in the morning with the entertainers, but not too early. We had a perfect trip! Staff was all super friendly, our room was well cleaned daily, and the restaurants had a nice variety of options. The beach was AMAZING! We would definitely go back!

Good hotel with excellent staff, beautiful beach and with a very good food

I had calls everyday to my room to sell me trips, the staff was not bilingual some. Some where nice and helpful and I did too the bellhop but if you didn't tip they kinda ignored you. The lady at the photo place got mad at me because I didn't want to spend 200.00 us dollars on photos after I explained I only had so much to spend. Then the airline jet blue that's a whole nother story. I was glad to be home wish I went some where else.

We enjoyed our stay very much. All the staff were friendly and they made sure you were taken care of. My wife and boys enjoyed all the activities, it's a great family hotel. The food was good, and we liked the themed dinners. If your going to travel to Playa Del Carmen, I recommend this hotel.

Lots of things to do. Nice staff. Much more peaceful compared to Cancun. The hotel is in a gated community that is peaceful, safe, and very walkable to downtown Playa where there are lots of things to do and a ferry to Cozumel.

Nice facility, wonderful friendly staff, front desk not quiet as helpful as could be. Food was lacking but you could find plenty to eat. Two restaurants you could make reservations which food was much better but limited seating. As always the drinks are watered down. The rooms are suitable but with better bedding, suitcase rack and small repairs (ex: shower door wouldn't close good, closet doors wouldn't stay closed) would improve the comfort tremendously. Didn't have enough room keys for each paying guest in room. Didn't have enough beach towels and we were at pools early. Plenty of shade and lounge chairs at pool. Pool service great, beach service was intermittent, would be great if had they cabana's on beach. I number of small things would make the hotel a 4 or 5 star facility. We got we paid for. Walking distance to town. At this rate I would go back if you were looking for 3 star facility.

This is a great location, close to shops, great beach, great pools etc. The food at the buffet could be upgraded some. It was rather disappointing from what we heard they used to serve here. We did eat at the Mexican restaurant one night and the Italian restaurant another night and the food there was much better. There were plenty of activities to do as well on the property and anything else that they didn't have was close enough to walk to. Our room was in building 21 and it is directly across from the theater so when the music or entertainment started around 9:30, it sounded like they were performing in our room. It was usually done at 10:45 or so, but if you were looking to go to bed early, I suggest requesting a building a little further away from the music, or at least a room facing away from the stage. Bartenders knew what you liked after the first day, same with the wait staff at the buffet. It wasn't a flashy place nor was it massive which made it perfect for us. I guess our biggest complaint would be to upgrade the food and we travelled with a group of 12 and they all said the same thing so we weren't biased.

I'm a single male social drinker 61 I enjoyed my stay here rooms clean beautiful view of ocean lots ativities with staff only complaint would be pool bar is shallowest spot in pool witch draws the small children where most complexs put pull bar in deeper area , but that didn't keep me from having great time at pool bar. There adult pool on west side . Food was good I'm buffet guy not big eater so no matter where I stay highest rating always good no better.activ

If you like mosquitos bites this hotels for you. Avoid this hotel at all cost. The food was horrible. (And I eat anything) mosquitos near rooms and to top it all of when I arrived they told me they where overbooked so they sent me next door to stay overnight.. Hotels like this shouldn't be in business. Windows in rooms were screwed locked( can't open windows ) do to bugs flying in. Ants everywhere as well. I can go on and on.. But you get the point.

This resort was wonderful. The staff members were extremely friendly and accommodating, especially our housekeeper Lucia. The grounds are very clean and well maintained. Each day there is entertainment available at the resort that lasts into the night. Downtown Playa del Carmen is also only about a 20 minute walk. You can either walk down the beach or through neighborhoods. I would highly recommend this resort if you are looking for a budget friendly and great trip.

This hotel needs a complete update.the rooms are small and they need to be updated. The food is just ok. I was very disappointed.

i've stayed at Allegro Playacar many times and have yet to be dissatisfied as a whole. The staff is totally amazing - front desk, office, bell boys and maid service. However, bartenders here, once they know you and understand what you are asking go out of their way to please you.

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The food and buffet were very well stocked with a wide variety of food and beverage choices. The only downfall to our stay is the heavy downpour of rain on the second floor roofs that all leak. Your stuff will get wet so I recommend a first floor room.

The staff is awesome!! Decent food. A/c did not work in 3 out of 4 rooms we had. Nightly entertainment very good.
