I already stayed at this hotel before. Good rooms, clean, quite, excellent location 2 blocks far from the beach of Ipanema and also good place to rest after a hard working day. Restaurants, supermarkets, drugstore near.

The first room we were given was on a floor that was labeled non-smoking but was definitely a smoking one from the smell of it. We asked to be moved to another room which the front desk agent easily obliged. This second room was on the same floor, but smelled better (cleaner) so it was an improvement. However, the agent said she would have to charge us extra because there were no more rooms available at our rate. Keep in mind that both rooms were on the same exact floor, had the same layout, and same size bed. The agent said she would have to check with her manager about not charging us more and that she would call us back. An hour passed and no call came. It was late and we had been traveling for the entire day so we gave up and went to sleep. No updates ever came. Luckily when we checked out, no extra charges had been added to our bill. Oh and the wifi was down for our first day there. There are a lot of other hotel options in this neighborhood, might as well stay at one of those instead.

You can not even have friends. The staff stairs at you when coming back to the hotel. Feels like they keep track of what you are doing - not a real feel of a vacation. Did not even let my friend come up to have a drink with me. Very stupid policy and the bed is not so comfy.

The hotel is centrally located and clean. Internet is barely working. You are not allowed to bring friendsfamilyguests to the room even not for an hour to have a drink. It feels like staying at your parents place - not in a good way as they look at anything you do.... I prefer my freedom and privacy !

The hotel staff was very helpful and spoke English. The hotel was not elaborate since it was a partial apartment complex, but the location was very good and the price was right.

This trip was pretty good. The hotel promenade Visconti was everything I was told. Incredible location ( close to everything). My room was pretty nice, nice tv, AC, nice bathroom. Service pretty good, everyone is nice and try to understand our language! ! Also the breakfast is good great service and fresh food. They call for my taxi just for 100 reales to the airport. Bad thing is the view of my room, the only thing I can see is the top of other building :/ The only thing they can improve is the information for turismo. Overall I am really happy with my stay :)

This is a superb hotel and highly recommended. Rooms are modern, clean and immaculate. The location is one block from Ipanema beach and close the main shopping streets of Ipanema (also the gay-ish area on Farme de Amoeda). Quite safe to walk around and enjoy the positive energy that is Brazil. Breakfast is standard continental (which includes many cake options in Brazil) but a good selection. Excellent Wi-Fi connection. Can be a bit noisy at night, especially weekends, given the location. But its Brazil - so if you can't beat them, join in the party.

Hotel was clean and had a great location just a block from the beach.

We stayed for 2 nights with my 14 years old son. The hotel is in good shape and just minutes from the beach and restaurants. It might get noisy at nights from the neighboring bars, but it did not disturb us.

The rooms are pretty good, the location couldn't be better in the heart of Ipanema area, great service and amenities

Good location between the beach and the main thoroughfare in Ipanema, a block from each. Easy walking distance to the beach or restaurants. In one of the safer areas. Not a luxury hotel, and lack of pool/view is notable. Good for business travel, but not beachfront, if that is what someone is after.

i don't have a bad thing to say about this hotel - its just that in rio hotel prices are so high but standards are way less than europe/america - so be prepared for dated decor. that said the location is perfect/safe. front desk extremely helpfull. great breakfast. very clean.

Great location only two blocks from the beach. Room was huge, suite like for a reasonable price. Staff was very helpful for English speaking guests.

We had a great experience. Great location, great room, great breakfast. Hotel staff was friendly and bilingual, although could have been a bit more knowledgeable about tours and sites in the area. Would stay there again.

Very close to the beach and shopping district in ipanema. Nice neighborhood with plenty of dining/bar options as well. Breakfast good too and free internet.

I only stayed one night. It was a last minute decision to travel to Rio and this was the best available. The suite was very comfortable. It was noisy until 5.00am from a nearby bar but this did not bother me nor detract from my enjoyment. I would have stayed more but they were so inflexible on price; it was less expensive to book on the internet than at reception!

The location of this slightly jaded hotel is perfect in the heart of Ipanema, one block from the beach. The staff is very helpful, especially Victor at the front desk. Breakfast is good, with great juices and fruits, the rest gets boring after the third day. There is free WiFi, a gym, a small pool. There is traffic noise and particularly annoying is the noise from the Barthodomeu bar on the adjacent street. Some of us could not sleep without earplugs. They have (at least) two drivers who can take you to the airport and other destinations. One of them, Fernando, speaks great English and is actually a great city guide. However, they charge Br$80 to the airport, which is a bit too much.

The hotel was great. The staff is very friendly and willing to help out all of the time. We were in Rio for 6 nights. The first two nights were at the JW Marriott in Copacabana, the other 4 at the Promenade Visconti. The Marriott was overpriced, and way out of the way. The Promenade was in an excellent location, we were able to walk to almost everywhere we wanted to go. There are lots of nearby restaurants, cafes, and bars. We loved the hotel.

The Promenade Visconti was in a very good section of Rio in the Ipanema section right behind the Caesar Park hotel. If you are looking for a clean, reasonably priced, friendly hotel you can't go wrong with this one. The rooms are fairly basic and not luxurious but if you aren't planning to spend much time in the room then it will be fine. I was in room 102B which had a single 'king' bed (I think they call it a king but it is a little smaller than a king size bed in the US.) The only downside to this room and maybe all of the rooms on that side of the hotel was that it was next to a restaurant so if I left the balcony door open you could smell the vents to the restaurant. There is no view. The breakfast included coffee, tea, hot milk, two types of fresh juices (oj and a juice of the day) bread for toast, honey, butter, jam, several fruits, regular and lowfat plain yogurt (can be sweetened with the honey), granola, sliced ham, a couple cheeses, scrambled eggs and one or two other things. Ipanema is a VERY safe area. I had no issues and I had lunch with a [...] (someone from Rio) who wears her diamonds in this area but not in other parts of Rio. It is about a R$15 cab ride to R. Dias Ferreira where there are a number of really good (but expensive) restaurants (Sushi Leblon, Zuka & Carlota among others). It would have been fine to walk to that street during the day probably only 20 minutes or so but I was alone, wearing heels and it was dark so I opted for cabs at night. It is about a 5 minute walk to Market Ipanema which was also very good. I had lunch there but not dinner.

This is a great apart-hotel in a fantastic Ipanema location. Very close to Posto 9 beach, and walking distance to the best restaurants and shopping in Rio. We reserved a suite, and our friend reserved a standard apartment. This hotel is set up such that we could have adjoining rooms and leave each door open, with an exterior door that we kept closed. Great way to travel with friends without the hassle of finding a private apartment. Front Desk staff were very helpful and spoke fluent English. Don't expect a 5 star luxury hotel, but for the value and compared to other Rio hotels, this is a great pick: The Visconti is clean, modern, comfortable, in a prime location, and courteously staffed. I would definitely return.
