The hotel has a distinctive walkway Portuguese design which makes you walk bordering the pool after leaving the reception toward lifters. For a regular apartment like the one I stayed the slightly upscale wood finishing is noticeable, Breakfast is generous and included in the daily rate. For the premium location, the package is priced reasonably well.
I was quite disappointed since after checking the hotel web site and features I expected much more than I got. The overall hotel looked with lack of maintenance and lack of personnel. I has the potential to become an important hotel.
I spent two weeks in this hotel in September - during the Paralympic Games. I have nothing good to say about this hotel. I didn't have a choice of accommodation which is why I was stuck for two weeks. The rooms are dirty. Fingerprints all over the walls. The "white" furniture in my room was filthy. The chairs were uncomfortable and very worn. They didn't seem to clean the room every day - certainly didn't provide fresh towels. The air conditioning was noisy. Most mornings there was NO HOT WATER for a shower. Completely unacceptable. The people at the desk don't speak English. The location is terrible - a very busy noisy street. Taxis could never find the place. My advice - stay away.
The hotel rooms in this facility is filthy and unsanitary. As one enters the room, the odor if urine and smoke greets him. The bathroom and the shower stall had flies coming from the drain. The towels had pubic hair in them and mold was on the shower head and the tiles. We didn't have a single chair in the balcony. To top everything off we paid $450 per night for a double bed standard room. The front desk wouldn't change our room, because they were booked to capacity, eventhough people were checking out. There are much better and cheaper hotels in the vacinity stay there. Avoid this hotel at all cost.
We stayed 15 days with our daughter in one of the junior suites. The room was big, comfortable and everything looked new and clean. The first week they didn't clean the bathroom, so we complained at the reception. After that, they sent other employees who did a great job. It has a really nice pool. Generous breakfast with lots of fresh fruit. The only downside is that you need a car even to go to the shopping mall across the street. Actually, you can walk to very few places other than the Barra beach. I recommend it to families looking for a good cost-benefit relationship.
This hotel is 15 minutes or so from the airport, while it's not close to the beach it has a beautiful shopping mall area right across the street. The staff was polite and accommodating but there was only one member that we interacted with that spoke English. The pool area was amazing. Very relaxing. The room had a good view. The breakfast was incredible! They had everything you could think of and it was delicious! We were very impressed
We stayed here during three nights, including Dec31. The hotel has already complaints about their reception personnel. I confirm that they are lazy, promising smth but never doing it, they like ignoring their guests:I have seen quite a number of scenes, when the guests were trying to get what they actually booked... In our turn, we were given a double room instead of triple. They said there is no more triple rooms! Finally, they find it. But we spent our time at the receiption desk.
We went to Brazil June 2015. We stayed at this hotel from June 10th, 2015 to the 14th of June. When we checked in, no one could speak English. The hotel was nice. Far away from all attractions, but very close to the shopping centers. Located across the street from our hotel. Our suite was large, very nice and clean, with a large balcony. The breakfast had a lot to choose from. Very tastety. The gym was out dated and very hot. We did not use the pool because the water was cold. My visit at this hotel was for a convention at the Rio Centre. We were able to get transportation to and from the convention center.
Great for, I guess one night or two nights. More than that and you run the risk of severe boredom. The staff were all excellent and very helpful. I spent one night and it was raining cats and dogs so it was quite difficult getting outside so I decided to order room service. Very few selection and the quality was just average.
We stayed for 3 days during "Carnaval" (15 -17 February) and were delighted with the actual hotel. The facilities were very good - pool/ gym/ restaurant/ gardens/complementary motor launch to the beach. Our suite was large and airy with white leather furnishings and a huge excellent shower. Complimentary buffet breakfast had plenty of choices. But its staff were the best thing about the hotel. They were excellent, particularly the girls in reception. Nothing was too much trouble. The only downside was its location - too far from the centre of Rio - about 45 minutes to an hour by taxi depending on traffic. And because of "Carnaval" there were 3 days of National Holiday when everything was closed. Shopping Malls looked great but nothing opened during our stay!!
