Stayed here for six days over spring break 2017. Made our decision largely due to customer ratings, and the reviews were not wrong. Right across from Copacabana Beach, with stunning views from the rooftop pool/bar of the city, the location is ideal. The hotel is very well maintained and the staff is exemplary in courtesy and service. And English is widely spoken here. We did not eat much in the hotel, expect for some snacks at the bar and breakfast; the latter was a buffet and it was super. The rooms are equipped as one would expect of a first-rate hotel, even with flip flops for the beach. There is a small gym (again, great views), sauna, and spa (did not use). A nice touch was the beach service - a designated area for hotel guests with courtesy chairs and umbrellas. And the staff there will ply you with all the adult beverages you can handle (for a price, of course).

The hotel was good. Stayed at Caesar park also, liked this place. Enter. Only room for improvement is bedding could be softer.

Best location! Great staff! When we come back we will stay here again :)

GREAT LOCATION, GOOD STAFF AND MOST IMPORTANTLY CLEAN ROOMS.

My brother and I stayed at Porto Bay Rio Internacional hotel for one week. We really like the hotel and the services were excellent. The hotel is in the heart of copacabana beach. I really enjoyed waking up in the morning and looking at the partial view of the beach from the balcony. Our room had two separate comfy beds and a nice bathroom. The breakfast room on the 5th floor has an amazing view of copacabana beach and there breakfast buffet is phenomenal with wonderful healthy food choices to pick. The staffs of the breakfast shift were extremely attentive and polite. The rooftop pool has a spectacular view of copcabana beach and also the view of Christ redeemer. The sunbed are very comfortable and the pool bar staffs are very attentive. The caipirinhas are phenomenal!! and they also serve food at the rooftop . My brother and I would daily go to the rooftop deck to enjoy the amazing night view of copacabana beach. The staffs at the reception are very polite and friendly. They all were very helpful with suggestion of sites place to visit and local restaurants to eat.The staff at the hotel would always greet us with a smile on there faces. The most memorable moment was celebrating my brother birthday at Rio de Janeiro. What made it special was arriving to the hotel from an excursion trip and to my brother surprise a small birthday cake with a candle was waiting at the room. This was a very nice gesture from the hotel that made it very memorable for my brother. The chocolate cake was delicious! This was our first time being at Rio Janeiro, Brazil.and staying at Porto bay Rio Internacional hotel. My brother and I defiantly will be coming back to this hotel.

This hotel was great. The staff was excellent from beginning to end. Always willing to answer questions and concern. Conveniently located across from Copacabana beach with direct access to the beach and chairs and towels. Great rooftop pool, not so big but excellent views. Complimentary breakfast was great with a huge fruit variety. I would highly recommend, Friendly staff.

Happy to have chosen this hotel. Beautiful and cleaned rooms with stunning views! The suite with balcony is over the top!

Great location, right on Copacabana Beach, the stuff is extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel is beautiful, and the rooftop pool is perfect to panorama pictures.

Higher floor side room had terrific views from balcony of ocean, mountains (including Corcovado, Christ the Redeemer) and a bit of city. Staff were all really helpful and I'm coming back for second part of my trip (where I'd been thinking I'd explore another area but finding this place very comfortable and convenient. Only negative was the little beach half chairs were pretty lame (there were apparently a few full loungers but were taken and just flimsy, uncomfortable half folding chairs). I was so surprised to then go to the rooftop pool and find such cushy/high end lounge chairs and regretted bothering with the beach at all (though obviously beach has its own appeal and would be nice to get a little closer to the rest of the hotel's quality. But other than that, all was great.

The female receptionists were all fantastic. They helped me navigate rio as a solo female traveler. The gym wasn't available for 2 days, unfortunately. The hot water wasn't working the 1st day but after I called, they sent maintenance right away and he fixed it. They were very accommodating to me when I arrived earlier than check-in as well.

We got 2 rooms for 4 guys and had plenty of room. We really liked the location and all of the locals said that it is one of the nicest hotels on Copacabana. Ask the staff question of where to go and how to do it to get your bearings, but after that ask locals what the best places and things are.

The best feature was the rooftop pool, which had panoramic views over all of Rio. The breakfast was also tasty and it was in a good spot for exploring, although a little sleazy at night.

We spent Christmas holidays in Hotel Porto Bay. The location couldn't be better, which is why the price is rather high, but well worth it, even if the rooms are nothing fancy, just basic. I recommend choosing a room with a sea view. Then you can see all of Copacabana. The roof top pool is by far the best place in the hotel. You can watch the sunset from there, and also see the Christ Redeemer from the side (when it's not cloudy). It's a great sight also at night, when the statue is lit. Breakfast buffet and Christmas dinner were superb.

Great location with great views. The breakfast buffet was delicious. While sun bathing or enjoying a wonder lunch by the pool you can view the Christ of the Redeemer statue. The staff are very nice and the service was excellent.

great ,central stayed tyhere for 5 days in a vacation

Arrived to find pool closed, gym closed, pounding and drilling all day long and one night until 10 pm!! Also problems with TV. Weak signal probably due to construction! Otherwise great hotel! Would recommend when construction is finished.

Very nice, breakfast was good and staff very good. It has location, location, location!

The location was perfect. Most of the staff was very friendly, except for a couple of receptionists... I was very disapponted with the swimming pool - it's only 3ft deep, very small and the water is not heated. Otherwise, it's a good hotel that pretty much has everything you need - beach service, wifi, hair dryer in the room, etc... The view from the rooftop is spectacular!

Correctb4 star hotel but not really convinced Very small pool Rooms next to elevators very noisy
