Very bad staff, not sympathetic and indifferent to their guests!!! The hotel is very old, dark and dirty ..even for 12 days of our stay, the bedsheets was not changed. We have a bad experience with this hotel and I do NOT advise you to stay there during your journey !
Close to the beach, friendly staff, clean, parking what more do you want for a stay at the beach? Next time in Rimini I'm certainly going to stay again at the Telstar. The owner even explained the history of Rimini and it's quite interesting.
I was in this hotel this summer (July - August) with my girlfirend who is a Muslim and we never got anything except pork (once for dinner we got fish, and twice chicken, the rest was pork). We asked many times but never got supplement for that. Forbreakfast there is only pork, so she hat to eat bread and cheese for 8 days. When I asked director about that, he was arguing all the time, saying that it is our problem and that we should buy ourselves something else, no matter we paid for breakfast and dinner. The hotel quality is not even for 1 star, info about three stars is a lie. Other employees are so nice, guy with glasses Luca and girl from Croatia (receptionist) were very helpful and very kind. We will never book this hotel again.
Good breakfast includes the 3 types of meats, cheese, buns, croissants, jams, coffee, tea, juice, water. Please note that in Italian breakfast you never find the eggs and sausages. We have booked the half board and for dinner had the 3 cuisines menu: 1st starter was pasta or rice or pizza, 2nd- potato with meat or any other dish -meat+garnish, 3rd was dessert: pana cotta, tiramisu or fruits. !!! Please note that the is impossible to choose the preferred dish for the dinner and NO SWEDISH TABLE at all. The officiants bring the dinner of the day: starter and 2nd dish without any possible choice. In general is possible to choose only dessert: pana cotta, tiramisu or fruits. The dinner menu changes every day. BE CAREFUL, because staff doesn't warn about water/wine additional costs for the dinner. Officiants offer the drinks: wine, cola, water, BUT NEVER SAY THAT IT'S AN EXTRA COSTS. Finally we faced the ''surprise'' paying an additional for drinks at check out. The dinner costs 13 eur in hotel if you have taken BB only, but near the hotel is plenty of pizzerias and bars, so is easily to find the place for the dinner. Retailer Coop is located the 15 min walk from the hotel. The location from the Rimini center is 5 km. Nice location from the beach- 5 min walk only. PLEASE NOTE that PARKING HAS LIMITED SLOTS, approx for 10 cars and it's quite narrow. Unfortunately is impossible to reserve the slot for particular car, because hotel uses the principle 'who parked first stays at the slot''. We have arrived by car at nigh and was forced to park in private parking 8 euro per day, because hotels parking slots and street parking were totally full. No chance to park the car on the street, because it's usually full and due to signs. The interior of room reminds the soviet time: old bathroom facilities, old TV. The room has also balcony. No hairdryer in the bathroom. No modern conditioner system, but old soviet time ''windmill''. Wi-fi works only in lobby, no chance to catch it in the room. The staff is different: there is working the middle age man whose spokes only Italian without English capability, but at the same time works the middle age blond man whose is helpful and speaks the English. If you choose the value for money the hotel meets the expectations, but take in account the disadvantaged as well.
It's a bed, I guess. Upon our arrival at hotel Telstar we climbed the several steps which lead to the lobby, lined with a faded and frayed red carpet - perhaps originally layed down by the hotels proprietor the hope of evoking an impression of luxury and class - this, however, is not achieved at Hotel Telstar. The lobby itself was not all that bad and is made comfortable by some old leather sofas, perhaps donated to the hotel after a clearance at DFS. This is useful as you will spend most of your time here when in the hotel as WIFI is only available here. The WIFI is strong which is nice. The staff were of various dispositions. Our first encounter was with the possibly scitzophrenic owner who shouted at us in broken English when we asked for bedsheets claiming that, I believe, it was not his duty to provide them. During the day, however, their is an amiable young woman who is always polite and speaks many languages very well. I felt sorry for her as she had to deal with the various complaints I overheard whilst i was in the lobby, but did her best to apologies and help. The rooms themselves are misleading when advertised. We booked a separate 2 bed double bed room. The photo of the bed shows you what you get - an itchy woolen cover and dirty pillow without a case. The shower and bathroom is very good which made the stay better. Now to the food. Jesus christ, the food. If you came to Italy to taste it's fabled dishes - you've booked the wrong hotel. I could go on for pages about the meals but to sum up at the end of the week Telstar charges you for all the tap water you drank as a goodbye pat on the back. The 'sea-view' is only for the brave hearted willing to streach their necks over a dodgy balcony to glimpse the sea to the right. Instead, you get a view of a much better hotel over the road with a pool and at least 4*. This is depressing as you wake up each morning to a view which makes you question you're ability to make sound decisions as an adult when booking a simple holiday. At the end of the day this is a 1* hotel, but a decent 3* Hostel. If all you're after is a bed for the night and a quick walk to the beach this is the place for you but for gods sake don't honeymoon here because unless you are willing to pay a lot of money for divorce fees.
We stayed 2 nights, room was on 5th floor reasonable view considering building front beach side. Room was clean, small and shower very small. Central location made it easy access to beach, shops and buses. Breakfast was very standard but tasty. Wifi in foyer area was good and limited parking was available
If you are looking for a cheap stay, this is your choice. Do not expect anything newer than 20 years, in-room Wi-Fi, a lot of connectors in the room, etc. You can expect normal staff, hot water, sea view and central location, though. Breacfast included in the price
On entrance we were greeted by what I can only say was the rudest man in Italy. This moment set the tone for our stay. We only stayed the two nights and all I can say is, thank God. After dealing with the rude pig of a man at reception we headed up to our rooms. The hotel was outdated and looked like a Romanian hospital. The paint was coming off of the walls and there were cracks everywhere. The balcony looked about as stable as Greek economy. We had a '4 person room' but it was clearly a double which had 2 singles put in the corridor, with one being virtually in the bathroom. The bathroom was less than basic and was unclean. The location though was good, about 20m from the beach and very close to the centre of Rimini. Overall, our stay was good, purely because we spent as much time as possible out of the hotel.
The hotel was disappointing, the room look like a romanian hospital-room (believe me, I know what I am telling), everything old - our first room had no chair, after a fight with the receptionist (who doesn't speak english) we got a little better room (at least had chairs). In the bathroom everything was deteriorated and old. The good things: the staff was OK, except the fight for the chairs, everybody was helpful and kind. The breakfast is not very rich but is good. The location is good, at a short distance from the sea, the beach is great.
The worst hotel I have ever seen. Rooms are not what they appear on their official site, the rooms were very very old, dirty, broken furniture, bathroom was terrible, and bed was old as in the hospital. Disaster!!! The food was the worst can be: breakfast was bad: every day bread, butter and cheese, ham, croasant and dinner was terrible!!! This hotel I would give one star, not three.
