This hotel is very conveniently located for the bus station, train station and old town. Everything is within easy walking distance. The room was nice and comfortable. A twin bed, with two separate single duvets which was a shame but no big deal. The staff were helpful. I note reviews of breakfast chaos. We found it busy but not at all chaotic and the staff worked hard to keep things turning over. Maybe they just need a bigger dining area for this large hotel. The spa was nice. The time is limited for one hour from 9am if you're in a standard room. This is quite reasonable I would think. If you want to visit outside of this time you can just pay for it I am sure. We didn't find it too busy at 9am, although it was unfortunately broken on our third day so we couldn't use it. These things happen I suppose. The only word of warning is with regards to the laundry service. We washed 5 days' worth of underwear and a small amount of outerwear. It filled half a standard carrier bag. The bill came to over €60 and the washing was still wringing wet and had very little evidence that soap had been involved in the process. It cost €2 per sock to just be dipped in water and left sodden! We had to leave it hanging in the windows of our room for two days to dry it. If you need laundry doing then just do it yourself in the sink!

The hotel has all the prerequisites to be great: convenient location, nice room with free wifi and friendly staff BUT my room was not made the first day, the breakfast facilities are insufficient and this crowded, the spa area is very small, noisy with a cold pool, cold shower and hammam....I don't think I will be staying again in this hotel on my next trip.

Hotel is very well located for a break in Riga it is in the edge of the old town. Room was very clean well decorated with very comfortable beds, a little noisy as it on a very busy road , which appears to have some traffic all night. I was a bit disappointed by the access to the spa, it appears that you have to be in a Superior room to visit the Spa at any time, other than that you can only have access between 09:00/10:00. It is a very a small pool, sauna, steam room so it was very crowded the morning in those hours. I did however book a spa day which was very reasonable and less busy, but I would have liked to be able to use the pool more . Unfortunately the worst aspect was breakfast. The food supplied when available was really nice, but every morning food ran out coffee ran out dishes cutlery etc were not replaced quickly enough for the amount of people using the restaurant and getting a table was nigh on impossible No-one seemed to be able to manage the process at all, problem was that they did not have a queuing system and just let people into the restaurant wether tables were available or not. If they got this sorted would be a great place to stay

Rooms quite nice apart not being able to figure out the air conditioning. Location good. Breakfast an absolute shambles. The food itself OK with reasonable choice but access to tables, clearing of tables, refilling of coffee and replacement of items that had run out totally chaotic. Lots of what looked like kids doing summer jobs working in an uncoordinated and largely unsupervised manner. As an example one regularly took crockery away from tables where people, were still having breakfast whilst leaving empty tables cluttered meaning that the, steady stream of guests, arriving had no where to sit.The coffee machine was inadequate for the numbers regularly running out more than once in the half hour breakfast sessions we had. Twice we had to ask for plates as there were none left - once we commented on this and the response, was "Yes, I know"??? The pool is very small and limiting use by some rooms to an hour between 9-10 is not very good customer service.

Well placed with short walk to old town. Helpful reception staff. Clean room. No free bottled water and no kettle. Lot of choice of good food for breakfast but main problem is small dining room with some having to sit in reception to eat as few tables. We did not manage to get to the spa

It was awesome staying at this hotel. Wonderful service and very clean rooms. Very friendly people working their and they do their best. I would love to stay again if i get a opportunity. Thank you guys u do a great job.

I had booked a Standard Double Room via my Expedia booking. Looking at the hotel website, it appears as though I was put in an Economy room. The website also advertised "Floor Heating" in all rooms, though this was not the case. I arrived late on Saturday and was looking forward to ordering room service, which was advertised as being 24 hours - however there were two menus, once ending at 10pm and one beginning at 11pm. As I could not get through to room service shortly after 10pm, I waited until 11pm only to be told that the kitchen was closed and was recommended that I go to McDonald's if I want food! Disgruntled, I decided to go to sleep, but I left my room service breakfast order hanging on my door before i did so at 11pm. The menu clearly states to leave it out before 3am. I awoke the next day, the menu was still on the door. No breakfast for me. (I learned, the following night, that it is best to take your menu down to the bar before it shuts at night if you would like to have breakfast delivered to your room in the morning.) I will admit, the spa was nice and the lady who was at spa reception was the only truly polite person who worked there (apart from the staff who were on main reception the morning I checked out). I found the hotel to be overpriced for what it was - even the mini-bar was overpriced and we were expected to pay for television. It was nothing spectacular and I feel genuinely cheated out of the amount that I paid.

Noisy room 402, street noise and you can hear other room people talkin from the ventilator Slow room service (It took one hour to receive food) Poor quality breakfast, eggs were completely raw and I was told that getting the good ones takes 20min?

Room was fine, but as it was on top floor and had tilted ceiling, my poor husband had to walk around super carefully not to pump his head... In their shower room, they really need to use glass doors or something for the shower as after using it, whole floor was wet! Also cleaning people should make sure that all hair and dust are removed from all rooms!

My team booked me into the Opera Hotel and Spa as I wanted a hotel in the centre of Riga for business meetings. Nice quiet hotel and very close to the old town so perfect for me. Rooms clean, breakfast excellent and the restaurant serves a great steak. I shall use this hotel again when I return and will recommend it to colleagues.
