The hotel is near the Riga Arena sports center, on 40 minutes walking from the city center. The price per night is around 20 eur. Rooms are very modest and beds very uncomfortable. The price include a breakfast and each day the breakfast is the same one (hot dogs, butter, marmalade, cheese, ham and cornflakes) Nearby there is a big supermarket "PRISMA" that probably now is closed as there was announcement that it is going to be closed. If you want to spend more days in Riga and you don't want to be in Hostel sharring room with 9 more people and to pay 12 eur, then this price is reasonable if you take in option that you have a breakfast too. I spent 7 days there.
Not where I would have chosen but at the very low price of 18 euros it provided the essentials. A good size room with beds that reminded me of my student days in the 70s with TV to match. Adequate breakfast, all in the price. Noisy young school children running and jumping late in the evening was the major annoyance. No social facilities. Overall - you get what you pay for.
I paid about €22/night for a single room with en suite toilet and breakfast. A very good deal but don't expect everything to be as good as Hilton! Rooms came with a desk, refrigerator, TV, wardrobe and heater. There's only a shower in the toilet, no bathtub. Simple, generally clean and comfortable but as some people have mentioned, some areas are a little worn out, such as the stairs and parts of the toilet. I think the TV didn't work but that didn't bother me. The WiFi was excellent except for a few hours on one day. The walls and floors are thin, so you can hear people slamming doors and stomping down the hallway occasionally, but the hotel was not too busy so it didn't really affect me. The neighbourhood is pretty quiet and there's hardly any traffic in front of the hotel. Breakfast is simple - toast, tomatoes, ham, sausages, coffee and tea, and served between 7.30 and 10am. Location wise it is just opposite Arena Riga and about 15 min walk away from Skonto Halle, very convenient for events. The bus stop at Skanstes iela is a 5 min walk away, served only by bus 24 which comes only once every 20-30 mins which means getting into the old city or central station can be quite inconvenient. There is another bus / trolleybus stop at Krisjana Valdemara iela, a 10 min walk away but with more frequent services. Still, Riga isn't big so it's only a 10-20 min bus ride to the central station. I'd recommend this place if you need a quiet room at a cheap price and convenient access to Arena Riga/ Skonto Halle. Maybe not if you're backpacking and want to be very close to the old city. And definitely not for stag parties.
I was here for one night only, noticed nothing extreeme. Cheap hotel with cheap interior and service, but it does help to spend the night. Defenatly nothing too positive, but when the young man was changed by the young lady, service quality become better.
Rooms are simplistic but do the job. Was disappointed we had a twin room and they didnt have any double rooms, even though they weren't full. Receptionists were brilliant, helpful and attentive at all times.
It's a bus drive from the center, but I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. There was piles of dust on the floor, the bedsheets was not clean and the electricity didn't work. The breakfast was clearly too old and just terrible. But the worst part was definitely the service. They were just extremely rude.
Satisfied to get my own room, but that's about it. The room had good size, but was stained and the bed was terrible. Bathroom had shards from the tiles and you could hear everything that goes on in the rooms around and outside. BUT it is cheap and if you don't have high standards it will be fine.
Old, worn out, torn furniture In the lobby area, horrible amenities no sitting area outside, promised wifi not working :( :( :( Staff not helpfull at all. Dull industry area 2km outside city center. Left same day for another accomodation. Didn't want to even see the room.
This hotel has such serious health and safety issues it would be closed down if in the UK. Apart from the few staff working there who were helpful and friendly there is nothing to recommend it. Pay a little extra and find somewhere nicer and closer to town. Examples: Shower cubicle covered in mould, nasty little beds with very cheap thin mattresses and 1 coat hanger for 2 people. These are just a few of what we found and there are many more!
We went on a deal, so we were not sure of the accommodation. When we arrived we first saw the stairs, carpet was coming loose and missing in places, apart from what this looks like, it is also extremely dangerous. The bedroom had a dirty old carpet, old worn, stained mattresses on the beds with the springs literally poking through, dirty old stained furniture, one coat hanger in wardrobe, mold around shower, fridge was not working and froze everything, finally no bed side lamps. One good point, staff are friendly. Found out that there regulars are men on stag weekends ..........say no more. Go into the old part of town to book rooms, they are not that expensive.
