Very enjoyable stay with great facilities. Great food. Great spa experience albeit a bit pricey. No dressing table with mirror which we'd expect in a 5 star. Enjoyed the swimming pool and facilities. Beach bar and grill was great.
Jurmala is a very nice beach resort scattered along a magnificent beach. Right in its central part is the Baltic Beach Hotel, the only large hotel right on the beach. And yet the hotel is a short walk only from the main pedestrian downtown street (lots of good restaurant choices and shopping opportunities) and the concert arena. The hotel dates back to Soviet times. But the owners have invested heavily to reshape and modernize. The property is now in very good shape (as far as I could see it), partly even luxurious. In the hotel there is a choice of restaurants overlooking the Baltic Sea. (I visited none of them.) A Spa and the private hotel beach can be used at significant extra cost. A walled parking lot is free. Breakfast is very good and (self-)served in a beautiful hall with seaview. The room in which I stayed at the 4th floor was spacious, nicely appointed, very clean, and had a balcony with side seaview (as all rooms in the main building, except the beachfront suites). It was quiet except for some noise from above in the morning. The bathroom was a bit on the small side, but acceptable and generously endowed with all facilities, towles etc. All this is really nice and beautiful, promising a relaxed time if you stay longer. However, the visit to this hotel can be spoiled significantly, if you book the wrong room. The hotel has an annex. Unlike in the main building, the rooms there face the rear side and overlook the parking lot and business area. So be sure that you are guaranteed a (somewhat more expensive) room in the main building with a seaview when making the booking. And insist on the guarantee when the receptionist nonetheless tries to assign you a room in the annex -- as it happened to me.
Stayed for two nights. No problem with check-in. Comfortable room with side sea view. Slippers, bathrobe, coffee machine in the room. Reach breakfast with variety for each taste. SPA zone and massages very really good, thought little bit overpriced (in my opinion). Parking place at the premise free of charge, though need to make security stuff more helpful and less aggressive.
Very nice hotel at Jurmala. The location is perfect and generally the facilities are good. All staff was very kind and acting professionally. We did managed to use the spa once (we had a tight schedule) and it was really good. For my taste the furniture and decoration through out the hotel are outdated, looking like the hotel is stuck in time. But this is my personal opinion, of course. Good breakfast lots of different things to choose from.
We planned a leisure break for mid-summer whilst taking in a rock concert in Riga. Our reception was pleasant and the room comfortable. That is where the good things ended. The bar service was slow even though not many guests, the food was average but the price not. The biggest disappointment is the spa itself. We were looking forward to a quiet and relaxing spa day. Surprise number one came when we were told that our room ( which was not cheap) did not include access to the saunas. That would cost an extra €36 each for just two hours. An hour in and children started to come in which ended any hope of quiet and relaxing. The staff did not seem to understand the working of one of the saunas either. We are very disappointed that for the good money we have paid we get slow service, average food, charged for service we would have expected as included, and an apparent inability by the spa to create a relaxing environment.
We liked everything about this hotel. Spacious room with balcony and the sea view, very good breakfast for all tastes, great spa with Olympic pool, Jacuzzi and sauna; clean beach with comfy beach chairs and bar. The staff was knowledgeable and courteous. We are very happy that we stayed in this hotel and plan to come back next year.
Better and Better! I was in february and came back 2 days ago! Baltic Beach suprised me again with great service, Tasty food, unique hospitality, incredibel Spa facilities. I came for business and I got a short vacation! thank you Baltic Beach team.
We spent the weekend of May 27 at the Baltic Beach Hotel & Spa. Initially we were a bit hesitant but decided to give it a tried nonetheless. On Arrival, the courteous greetings from the front desk was highly appreciated and the check-in process was quick and efficient. We opted for the Baltic Suite and it was the best decision we have made in a long time. We were promptly usher to the room and upon entering the room the real magic came alive. A spacious bright room with a view to the sea and the most wonderful balcony to enjoy the glorious view. It was truly an experience, to relax while sitting at the balcony taking in the sun while the sea breeze washes over us. After spending some time on the balcony, a visit to the Spa was the next step. We highly recommend THE GARDEN at the SPA. With a variety of saunas to try, we truly insist you try them all, you can feel the stress and tension literally fall off your body. Make sure you ask the staff for all the amenities, you will not be sorry you did. After the day’s events, we truly recommend a bottle of wine while sitting on the balcony just to look at the magnificent sunset and the stars. The Breakfast next morning was perfect warm and cold plates were in abundance and delicious. We spent some time trying a variety of foods and flavors. For those of us that have children and want to have them both with us and away. The kid room is absolutely perfect. The caretaker of the room Mila is one of the most agreeable and patient person we have ever seen. She can keep a child interested and busy for hours. To the point our daughter did not want to leave the room even after 5 hrs. Do yourself a favor let the kids visit the kids room. In total, we have to say if you want to recharge or just relax both your body and your soul make it a point to book a weekend at The Baltic Beach Hotel and get a Spa package. You will thank yourself for the gift.
