We were a group of friends, six couples, staying for two nights on Isle of Wight. We were welcomed by the staff who really went out of their way to make sure we had a brilliant time. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quirky, the food was really delicious, service great and if there was ever the chance we would all certainly return again
Convenient place. Near the city center. Near the theaters. Good food in the restaurant. Great restaurant. On the last floor you can see the beautiful panorama of the city. Serviceable, attentive staff.
Nice hotel with a walking distance to Riga centrum. Named after Albert Einstein, and you find the theme nicely presented in the halls and rooms. Nice staff! Good service. The rooms are not big, but cosy and clean. Very good breakfast, actually the best hotellbreakfast I have had. Top floor have a bar with wiew over Riga. So thank you Albert Hotel, for a nice stay:-)
I have been a steady guest for a full year. Very helpful staff. Breakfast has a variety of food and is a fine place for breakfast meetings. Try the restaurant in the evenings. Food is excellent and place is not too crowdy. Choose the 10th floor rooms 1 till 10. Wifi doesn't work properly after room nr 10. This floor has the biggest rooms with a full office desk which makes it convenient to work. Spend your evenings in the rooftop bar. You will always find fine company to chat with.
Everything was OK. Don't know what to right else, that's why there's just text two hundred symbols minimum. Wi-fi, breakfast were good too. That's good that you don't ask to write 700 symbols minimum.
Albert Hotel is a great place to stay in downtown Riga. It has the comfort ofa a business class hotel but it is not too big, everything is in the size not too big to feel cosy. It is very clean and fresh, design is contemporary and beautiful, the materials used in interiors are very good. A problem is access to the underground parking garage. There should be better and more visible signs on Dzirnavu Street at the main entrance. All streets are one way and if you do not take the right one you may end up driving long loops around the neighborhood. Also, shower stall could have a courtain or something to avoid the floor being splashed totally wet.
This is an excellent hotel. The rooms are great, the buffet breakfast superb and the service very good. When we were kept awake one night but an over-running Christmas function we were moved to a different room, reimbursed for one day, and given drinks vouchers. All-in-all the hotel and staff made for an excellent stat in Riga.
The location of the hotel is good - about a 15 minutes walk from the old town. If arriving by aeroplane it costs about EUR 15.00 by taxi from the airport to the hotel. We previously stayed at the Albert Hotel in February 2008 and not much has changed over the 10 years. Staff upon arrival were very welcoming and it wasn't long before we were in our room. The room was compact, but more than sufficient. Although the colour of the décor has possibly seen better days, the room was clean and tidy, and didn't look as drab as I thought it could after all these years. Importantly, everything was clean. The only criticisms we had were: no kettle (something we expect as a standard feature nowadays); no door or curtain on the shower, which meant lots of water ending up on the bathroom floor, and the room got extremely warm in the evening, so much so that we had to open the bedroom window in sub-zero temperatures! Breakfast each morning was very good. There is a good selection of hot (including streaky bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs) and cold foods available on the buffet, which was frequently replenished. Breakfast was served from 07:00 each morning, through to 10:30 during the week and 11:00 at weekends. Overall, we came back here nearly 10 years later because we had a good experience the first time, and we had a good stay (4 nights) again. Definitely recommend and hope it is as good post-refurbishment as it is now.
The Albert Hotel offers excellent value for money for the service level the hotel is aiming for. It is ideal for business travel and personal stays where chandeliers, fountains and fancy fittings are not needed, however, a fast internet service, good sound insulation and decent cuisine deliver the essentials for the independent traveller.
It was a very pleasant stay. The room was very cosy, the location of the hotel is also very convenient. The only things I didn't really like - there was no mini-kettle in the room to boil some water for tea/coffee, and the mini-bar - it was there, but it's a paid option. It's quite typical in other hotels (I travel a lot), that 1 bottle of water (0,5l) per day is free of charge and alcohol is paid. Here it wasn't like this. It would be good to improve it, but anyway the hotel is nice :) The staff was very friendly, breakfasts were very tasty!
