    A Nice "Little" Place

My wife and I wanted to get away on short notice and this place was still available and compared to the others that were available it was fairly inexpensive. We booked online and went on our way. We got there after dark but Siri found it easily enough for us. We parked in the available space and it was VERY dark even though they do have motion activated lights when you pull in. We realized the next day that there is a light switch next to the gate that turns on some better lights. When we opened the door to the cabin we were struck with a very harsh pinesol type odor that they use for cleaning. It never went away and our clothes smelled like it when returned home. I would suggest another cleaner or to use a little less of the Pine smelling cleaner when cleaning. The place is very small (as described in their listing) and does not have a stove and the oven supplied is a table top kind and not very big. There is a microwave and mini fridge, a coffee pot with one bag of coffee. (we stayed for 2 nights and luckily brought our own coffee) but another bag would have been needed if we had not brought our own coffee. There is a small round table with 2 chairs next to the kitchen and fireplace. They do supply wood for a fire but we didn't use it. There are electric fan heaters in each room and they do warm the place quite nicely. Upstairs is a nice bathroom with a terrific shower head and lots of water pressure. I just wish the water would have been a bit hotter as I like my showers pretty much scalding hot. Fresh towels were provided along with bar soap and shampoo/conditioner. There is a TV room and futon upstairs in the middle room but didn't use either. You would need to pull the curtain back if you wanted privacy for sleeping but at least there is one. The bedroom next to the middle room has a large bed and it was very comfortable. There is a closet in that room as well. There are lamps on each side of the bed but only one bedside table. No big deal. We did enjoy our stay and we weren't at the cabin that much except to sleep. I would recommend this place to an active couple who just needs a place to sleep after enjoying what the mountain has to offer. It may be a little small for 4 adults but then again it depends on the 4 adults.

    Cozy, summertime, getaway-from-it-all guest house

Property was pretty much as described in reviews. I would call it a guest bunkhouse. I was there for 8 days in July '18 and enjoyed the outdoors patios. Spent most of each day skiing at Mt Hood, so was not able to enjoy the mornings, which I'm sure were gorgeous. Although fog was not an issue on 7 of the 8 days, I'm told that it is common to have fog in the valley and sun at Mt. Hood. Not sure what winter would be like. Private parking area with direct access to patio and entrance, easy in and out. Lush vegetation makes it seem isolated even though neighbors are on three sides. Quiet. No true kitchen, but small fridge, very small bar sink, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, kitchen utensils, along with plates, bowls, glasses, cups, silverware, etc. Very small round table with 2 chairs is about all that fits downstairs as part of the area is taken up by the fireplace (didn't use). Upstairs sleeping quarters, 1 BR and a common area with trundle beds. Would be fine for two or three people who don't plan to spend much time inside other than sleeping, bathing, and snacking. The community pool pictured is not on the property, but rather down the street a few blocks. I might consider this again if it was myself and maybe one other person. I truly enjoyed the peaceful, relaxing, surrounding environment (Sandy River, breeze in the trees, birds create a soothing background soundtrack). I did miss having an actual kitchen, but didn't really have time to do any cooking. Many interesting dining options within a few miles (5-10 minutes) at ZigZag, Rhododendron, west end of Brightwood area, and Welches. All in all, good location (20-25 min to Timberline Lodge in summer) in a very beautiful setting. A couple suggestions: I would ask that Vacasa/VRBO provide a few more kitchen towels and higher quality paper towels, and let vacationers know when to take garbage can to the street for pickup. The owners were not present during my stay (too bad, I would have liked to have met them) and the outdoor garbage had not been taken to the street in at least a week and had grown quite ripe in the 85 degree heat. OK as long as the lid was on! Also, last user of the outdoor grill hadn't cleaned up their fish BBQ very well and the area was a bit aromatic. Perhaps a VRBO/Vacasa cleaning crew oversite? Final Word: Again, the property is really quite a nice, "cozy" place, small but manageable, and a definite must stay in the summertime.

    5/5 Excellent

I don’t want to give a good review because I want to keep this gem to myself. But to be honest it was the perfect get away for my wife and I. I couldn’t have asked for a better place. Can’t wait to come back.

Perfect for a family of four when it's warm enough to hang out outside on

Tiny common area but spacious enough bedroom /loft. We LOVED the outdoor space - swing, firepit, trail to river. Perfect for parents and two kiddos when it's warm enough to enjoy the outside. "Kitchen" adequate to keep food in small fridge and make coffee :). Other uses seem more likely aspirational due to very limited workspace, but that was find with us!
