We stayed at the Lardos Bay Hotel for a couple of weeks in September. The room, and hotel generally, were fairly clean. The housekeepers did a good job. The bed wasn't amazingly comfortable but we got used to it. The shower situation wasn't good. Every morning there was no hot water. Every morning we informed the receptionist of the issue. Every morning she arranged for someone to fix it. Every. Damn. Morning. The food was bad. Breakfast was tinned fruit and fake Greek yogurt. Lunch and dinner were canteen cuisine, with fake Feta and fake Parmesan. The 'Italian Pasta Bar' was run by a Bulgarian chef who kept coughing into his hand and wiping it on his apron. Boot leather pork/chicken washed down with battery acid wine. Even the birds that flocked to the empty tables were hesitant to indulge. Whatever remained from the evening meal was reincarnated for lunch the next day. Cheap ingredients, incompetently cooked, and - to top if off - there wasn't even enough to go around!... A wave of guests would enter the canteen and strip the buffet tables like a swarm of locusts. Whoever didn't elbow their way in quick enough would then have to stand, empty plate in hand, waiting for the servers to replenish the tables. Overseeing yet somehow oblivious to it all, the knuckle-dragging restaurant 'manager' would pace up and down like an angry gorilla - his only joy in life being to intimidate the poor Ukrainian waiting staff, who, to be fair, did an excellent job under difficult circumstances. The evening entertainment was horrendous. The same annoying kids' songs played at full volume every night a.k.a the 'mini disco'; some weird variety performance by the hotel's own 'entertainment team' - the meaning of which has confounded us to this day. Twice we were treated to an old Greek man croaking out 70's disco hits to a cheesy midi backing track; on both occasions the lad from the bar was invited up as a 'special guest' to practice his hackneyed guitar riffs to an audience whose wits had clearly been dulled by boredom and cheap, sugary 'soft-inclusive' cola. (Yes, folks, to clarify: the all-inclusive is 'soft-inclusive' here. It doesn't include booze. It basically includes soft drinks and water but only when the restaurant & pool bars are open. Note also, you're not allowed to 'stock up' on water by filling bottles.) Verdict: Unlikely to return.
Hotel and staff great hotel rooms nice and clean maid service daily. Just a couple of complaints, 1 was evening entertainment was 90% in Russian really felt left out . The main was the hotel was advertised as all inclusive when we arrived we were told NO full board only we could have fizzy pop only except at evening meal you could have a beer or a wine only . The closest shops were 15 - 20mins walk away .
Perfect reception, nice manager the people which doing this job with love you can feel there very well If would be possible to start with not soft all inl but with all inclusive it will be appreciate.
Family rooms were nice but a bit shoddy. The also only had a shower and that isn't great for very young children! Food was absolutely terrible. Staff were very rude. The only staff member who was nice was the groundsman. We paid a lot of money to come here but found it horrendous and thankfully got moved to their sister hotel which was a lot nicer but the food was still the same. Such a shame where Rhodes is such a beautiful place.
hotel was nice and peaceful with a lovely pool food was a bit bland need more choices staff went out of they way to cater to your need especially christen and davide only problem was bathroom was small no lock on door shower leaks when you have one and there was only 4 channel on tv all new one with no chance to reporgarm any more channels
Spent 2 days in this awful outdated 1970's hotel. I moved hotels after 2 days as its was old an old fashioned hotel. Please be aware, this IS NOT A ALL-INCLUSIVE HOTEL. It's a full board hotel, so you will have to pay for alcoholic drinks and snacks. Daytime snacks looked like left over food. The food in the restaurant is diabolical, really disgusting food. (I would not feed my animals with it). The man who served pasta on the pasta server never spoke. The staff do not understand English at all, and look really miserable. The manager spends all lunch time watching the staff work. The only polite person we met was the lady in the hotel shop who was really helpful. The toilet in our room never had a door, it had a screen!!!! The air conditioning unit was so old and rusty we never used it looked dangerous to use. The only good things about this hotel were the pretty flowers, around the building and the pool area. The nearest bar is in Lardos village called "Memories Cocktail Bar" and the restaurant called "Rulers" which is fantastic, that's the best places we found. I'm being really honest, please don't waste your money staying there. If you want Rhodes, go to Pefkos, or Lindos, absolutely brilliant night life.
A smaller than usual hotel. DO NOT be deceived when booking all inclusive and don't forget its a 3*. As a general rule they do not do all inclusive. They have 'soft inclusive' which means you just get diluted sugary drinks on taps. We even had to pay for our tea/coffee etc. You can have bear or wine with your meals. At the restaurant you are often rushed to finish your food to make room for others. The staff are excellent; they work very hard - the gardeners, waiters etc. The hotel grounds, rooms, pool is kept very clean. No fault with these really. The managers could do with more interaction or just greeting people really. It is true that they have entertainment until late hours; did not bother me that much but my sister who was placed closer found it hard to sleep. The breakfast was particularly poor. Lunch and dinners were ok. If you want to make use of the beach you have to pay 12 Euros for two loungers and umbrella. The hotel seems to be a choice for Italian and Eastern European families. There are pool side entertainment morning and evenings.
A large complex. Very friendly staff, clean rooms and nice location to the beach. The rooms have no tea and coffee making facilities which was poor at those sort of room prices. Loud music plays out by the swimming pool most of the day so escape to the beach where you pay 4.50 euros per sun lounger. The loud music in the hotel and 'kids animation' stage plays up to 11.30 at night. If you stay here and don't want that, ask for a room that doesn't overlook the pool area. We were fortunate enough to have rooms facing the sea which was lovely. There is a shop on site run by the loveliest lady who speaks excellent English. The food is very poor and you are rushed to get out as soon as breakfast finishes, so don't be late! The breakfasts offer nothing traditionally Greek, its all processed meat and cheeses, badly cooked egg dishes and tinned fruit alongside 2 popular trays of orange segments and banana. There are nice freshly made pancakes, but not an olive or piece of Feta in sight. The bus stop is right outside the hotel and the buses go frequently to Lindos and up to Rhodes Town. Car hire is a good idea if you want to make your own way around the island. A 10 minute walk along the beach will take you to some other nice restaurants and shops.
This hotel is all about the staff, staff here is beyond excellent, from receptionist, cleaners to staff in restaurant, they all work together to make your stay a wonderful experience. Hotel grounds are kept cleanand tidy, rooms are perfectly fine for 3* hotel, beach is 3 min walk from hotel, food is very repetitive but they have an excellent Italian chef who makes great pasta. I would not come again simply because there are lots of other beautiful place I would want to go but it was definitely a good enough experience so I would recommend it to others. Bear in mind it is a 3* hotel when booking.
Hotel Lardos Bay is an excellent choice, especially if traveling with kids. Safe, clean, exclusive food, polite staff. My special thanks belongs to Manager Juri Viesi. Definitely good value for money. Hotel just finished the last part of reconstruction, so you don’t need to be concerned about the old reviews here. Few minutes walk from seaside. Weak WiFi is the only little thing I have to mention, but it didn’t bother us much. Otherwise, very pleasant stay and I am looking forward to be back.
