This was our 7th visit to Pefkos in 11 years. Wanted to stay at Island Blue but was more expensive than were we stayed before. Three adults in a two bedroom apartment, plenty of space, two bathrooms, big balcony overlooking the pool. The pool was very quiet which suited us. Lovely staff, spotless all around the resort. Short walk to main road bars and restaurants. If you stay in any of the apartments you can use any pool, we have stayed in Lindia Thallas before, for the extra money paid for breakfast I think we would go back to self catering next time. We would try Pefki Islands. 1st stay in October and weather perfect for us.
Returned recently from a fortnight at Island Blue - this was our third visit. No complaints about the hotel - room (suite) 258 spacious and kept spotlessly clean by a very hardworking housekeeper. Breakfasts excellent - good choice both hot and cold. All staff very accommodating with two delightful TUI girls who were always around to deal with any queries. Supermarket onsite of Lindia Thalassa with a good range of food, drink, toiletries souvenirs etc. at reasonable and competitive prices. Staff there always very helpful. Stavros at the Lindia Thalassa bar deserves a particular mention, always friendly, personable, acknowledging ‘returnees’ and always hard-working and industrious, unlike the bar man in the evenings whose service was always grudging giving the impression of not really wanting to be there. If he were at the bar during the day times I would not use it. On the downside, and the reason we would not return, is that this resort is primarily a wedding venue with all of that that entails. Large groups of guests staying in packs and taking over pools etc. particularly in Island Blue. I was surprised at the number of children there during term time all of whom clearly enjoyed themselves but at the expense of other hotel guests. Despite signs to the countrary they would dominate the pool diving in “play fighting” each other and misusing the large inflatable toys in the pool of which they were far too many. We stayed bed-and-breakfast mainly to access the many excellent taverners in the area. I would particularly reccommend Dama Dama, remember to book and Anixis a family run taverner where the setting and views are fabulous. Turn right of the complex, not left to the town, and you will find it on the left at the top of a number of steps. If you go at sunset time you will have a fabulous experience. We visited Rhodes on the transfer coach arranged by TUI - it is a new initiative which they are trialling and it’s certainly worth while (€50 for two). This arrangement is only available on Sundays which is not a good choice of day since all the new Rhodes Town is closed all day! Would recommend La Veranda taverner – We were there the day of the Medicaine the staff coped cheerfully and efficiently with the heaviest rain I think I have ever seen. A particular mention to Diagoros taverener in Lindos with the best pasta penne I have ever tasted - all the dishes were excellent and from the roof top you can see the acropolis lit up in the night. So, in conclusion we will not be returning to Island Blue but will miss greatly the area - the beach, Lee’s Bar, Kyma restaurant and the others already mentioned. With the large, raucous wedding groups and so many poorly managed children the holiday cannot be described as either relaxing or enjoyable.
We booked for the Linda Thalassi resort in Pefkos for the very last week of the season. On arrival our driver told us it was closed for refurbishment. We thought he was joking as he was a nice smiley person. We were last of the transfer coach and yes he dropped us off at the same site but at the Fabulous Island Blue reception. We were booked in and given a gorgeous two bedroom, two bathrooms room overlooking the Wedding chapel apartment. As a good gesture for moving us they awarded us breakfast every morning in the Elias restaurant. We were amazed, huge 6ft6in bed, flat screen TVs in both bedrooms, small kitchen complete with everything , even ironing board and iron. The cleanliness of the whole complex was spotless even on the last week of season. We booked a lateral, we had the best deal ever. Thanks to all the staff especially the buggy drivers who drove us from A to B on several occasions all in with the service, WOW what a fabulous holiday.
We’ve really enjoyed the Island blue on every occasion that we’ve had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel. The best place in Pefkos to stay in our opinion, if there is a room available we wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
Spent a week at this hotel, in a top floor room overlooking the chapel. Perfect location if you want a quiet, relaxing escape. The Pool area is immaculate, and although we didn't use the pool it was very well serviced with plenty of sun loungers. All of the external areas are fantastically maintained, a credit to the staff looking after them. The rooms are also in fantastic condition especially given it is the end of the season. They are kept exceptionally clean, and are visited by hotel staff daily with towel and sheet changes with a huge comfy bed. There is a flat screen TV with 4 + English channels inc. BBC1, ITV etc if thats your thing, perfectly appointed, including an iron and ironing board, kettle, full size fridge, independent A.C. WiFi etc. Only niggles were the pillows which are rather lacking any substance and are very soft providing very little support once your head is on them, and the 24 Euro charge for the room safe, which I think is far too much, a maximum of 10 Euro is justified. We were on B&B basis, and the breakfast offering was excellent, and plentiful. Seated inside or outside overlooking the pool, with tables cleared promptly and again the area was immaculate throughout service. We ate one night at the restaurant, which was without doubt, the best meal of the holiday, perfect service, fantastic food, at a reasonable price. All in all, can highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Rhodes.
Still as good as last year. Room was lovely big bathroom with a massive shower cubicle. Reception staff are friendly and helpful as are the breakfast restaurant staff infact all the island blue staff are lovely. Poolside bar serving good food and good priced drinks. The only gripe if I am honest is that the some of the sunbeds need replacing some very uncomfortable. Had a great holiday and hopefully will see you again in 2019
Have just returned from the Island Blue having stayed for one week on a Bed and Breakfast basis. This hotel is just beautiful and immaculately kept and we found all of the staff friendly and welcoming. The reception team are lovely and very smiley! Our room was on the ground floor looking over the pool and is honestly the biggest room I think we have ever had abroad! The shower in the bathroom was huge, the beds were comfortable and the terrace was massive! Rooms have a good size fridge too which is so handy. The breakfasts were delicious with so much choice, from hot selection, cold meats etc fruits, cereals and cakes and pastries and the staff in the breakfast room were super efficient, never leaving anything on the tables once you've finished eating. Gorgeous setting too overlooking the pool on the roof. The hotel is set just far enough from the resort so as to be quiet without it being too far to access for your evening meals and nights out. Walk to the beach not too far either and supermarket on site was very reasonable. Would highly highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you Island Blue and all staff for such an amazing holiday-we truly didn't want to leave!
This place is a 5 star rating for me lovely and clean bedrooms beautiful and people and clean pools this is a place u want to stay if u want luxury will defo be coming back to this place again was amazing
We stayed here for 2 weeks in September 2018. This was our second visit but last time we stayed at Pefki Islands which was also amazing. Same resort, different apartments. These apartments are lovely. We had a 2 bedroom apartment, pool view on the ground floor as per our request. It was very clean and very spacious. The bed was huge! There was a large variety at breakfast each morning and staff were very friendly. Struggling to pick any faults but if we had to find one the only small thing would be no cold drinks. There was ice to have in your water/juice but would have been nice to have drinks cold in the heat, but this is a small moan. The staff around the whole resort are very friendly and were so sweet with our little girl. We had to call the doctor out one evening for her and the reception called 2 days later checking how she was. Our cleaner worked so hard and was such a lovely lady. Louise the wedding planner is lovely and amazing at her job. The spa ladies are all extremely lovely hardworking ladies and my bridal hair was just perfect! The only small let down are the supermarket staff who are not very friendly at all and don't say a word when serving you.Even ignored me when I said Hi/Bye This was the same on our last visit 4 years ago. The resort is very family friendly and has a mix of all ages. It is very clean and we just love this place. Some large wedding groups are pretty loud and take over the place but one evening when they were being a pain security did escort them out the pool. They handled it very well and this can happen at any hotel. Other reviews say they need to decide if this should be a wedding resort which I can see if you had a loud group on your holiday but this can happen at any hotel and is not an issue for most visitors who return year after year. The only issue with a wedding hotel is you have to book up well in advance as all the accommodation fills up fast but this just shows how great this place is and how popular it is. Unfortunately we had a very loud family upstairs for 2 weeks who let their children jump around and push furniture around very late at night and every morning at 7am we were woken up which is not ideal as we also had a young child. This can happen anywhere but we did mention it to reception hoping they could have a word explaining the sound travels more than they maybe realised but they didn't seem to really care much and told us to dial reception at anytime when they were loud but they weren't loud party people just constant noise from inconsiderate people. Usually we never complain and just get on with it so it would have been nice to have the reception support us a bit more if possible as it did make us very tired on our holiday but nothing could ruin this place for us. I also think this could have been different depending who you speak to at reception but we didn't try again. We didn't really need the TUI reps on holiday but we wouldn't need them anyway as all the hotel staff were more than helpful. We love Island blue and can't wait to visit again. It is a beautiful place / area and we love the friendly local people and visitors. The local restaurants are all amazing and there are so many hidden gems to find each time you return. See you all soon!
We have recently returned back to the UK after a beautiful two weeks stay at the island blue. We got married on the veranda and had our party at the Elia all organised by Louise and we could not fault any of it. Setting is beautiful, food is beautiful and service is second to none. We normally stay in Pefki islands what is a sister hotel and is equally beautiful. We are already looking to book up next year and this will be our 6th time staying in one of the ioannidis hotels in Pefkos and can confirm they are definitely the best in the resort.
