My wife and I have just returned from a 7 day trip to the Mediteranean Hotel, and were very impressed with our stay, so much so that we have already booked to go back next year for an 11 day stay. The hotel was situated on the sea front at Elli beach, go out of the front door, cross the road and you are on the beach. It was that close. The Hotel itself was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful whether you were in the bar, dining room or just general enquiries. No problem was to big or small for them. The food was very good and always something different to enjoy and always something for the fussy eaters. A short walk along the harbour front - trips galore available - takes you to the Rhodes Old Town which is a fantastic mix of old buildings and new tourist shopping area with bars, restaurants and shops galore. All in all a very enjoyable stay at a very friendly and comfortable hotel and already looking forward to going back next year.
I visited Rhodes Town in early September with my boyfriend and we stayed in the Hotel Mediterranean. We had bed and breakfast. The hotel is great. It is near everything you need and has great facilities. The pool is a bit bigger than it looks on the pictures which is nice. Make sure to go further in to town (not old town) for more reasonably priced food as the food near the beach is a bit more expensive (as to be expected). The breakfast was very nice and varied and the staff who do breakfast service are all very, very nice. Professional, polite and upbeat. In fact, all the staff help you as much as possible and are very nice. The cleaners also do a great job as the hotel was spotless the whole time we were there. Our flight was not until 10pm but the staff kindly put our cases in their back room so we could enjoy our final day. They also have a shower which they offer so you can go to the beach. Just a general tip. Do not buy cocacola in old town without checking the prices. I would recommend Rhodes and the Hotel Mediterranean :)
We visited Mediterranean hotel in September for holidays. I was expecting after several emails sent to customer support that we will receive a room that I requested insistently , front and corner with view towards the casino, I was ensured in the reply I received that we will receive the room, only at arrival we were told that that was a different type of room and is not available. The water pressure in the room was extremely low at bathtub , water just poring, we informed reception they postponed checking for the next day, the next day in the evening it was not solved, but they said that it was, they send again on our request a plumber and only this time he cleaned the sand that was stopping the water. The breakfast was a big disappointment too, almost nothing, very poor selection a long line waiting for an available table, but the lady at restaurant reception was really helpful and nice , trying to make as much as she could considering the circumstances. The bar staff not professional, no customer service skills or training , extremely poor quality service at the bar of the hotel. The cleaning ladies do their job very well daily. The street in front very noisy until very late in the morning, the beach in front very busy, stones in the sea. We will probably not come to this hotel again, the price versus services / offer is not justified.
After arriving very late, because of a delayed flight, the room we booked was overbooked. They had a room for us in another hotel nearby. The next day we got an upgrade of the room and a late checkout. The service was so great and the staff was very kind! The room was cleaned and we got clean towels every day. We had very pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel to everyone reading this.
This was a family holiday and Mediterranean was good choice for us. Our baby was 13 months old then. Room (126): on the first floor: huge balcony: good furniture and I liked that the baby crib was wooden. The view was so and so but it was ultra last minute offer and the room with the sea view was 100 euros more. Service: great! Especially with our baby who was trying her best to make as much mess as possible during meals. Poor waiters :) Food: it is a heaven for people who like sea food. We are vegetarians, didn't have many choice for breakfast but dinner was great. Every night of the week they do another country's cuisine. Have to mention that yogurt and dried plums they served for breakfast are delicious! Location: maybe the best advantage of this hotel. You cross the street and you are at the beach and in approx. 10 minutes walk you will reach the Old town.
Well after arriving at the hotel at about 10.30pm tired and hungry we were checked in fairly quickly. My husband asked about up grading our room. The man on reception told us to ask in the morning. On this we were not told anything about the room we were going to at this time we assumed we were going to the room we booked with jet 2 which was a double room with side sea view.Boy were we shocked when we got to our room.We had been checked in to the smallest room I have ever seen. To be frank it was undoubtedly a single room no question. It was postioned at the back of the hotel with the biggest palm tree I have seen looking at us.On top of that the hotel had put half the room furniture outside on the balcony to fit another single bed in next to the room single bed.I just sat there and cryed this was our wedding anniversary holiday. My husband went down to reception to be told the hotel was overbooked and we would be moved in the morning. After a sleepless night my husband went to reception where he was told our room we booked was ready. All so we were given late checkout on our last day as a good will jesture. As we hadn't unpacked our cases we couldn't get out of the room quick enough to the room we had booked. which was great couldn't fault it. We didn't bother upgrading as we had a double sea view lovely sun on the balcony from dinnertime until 7pm every night a view of Rhodes castle as well it was lovely. But I would stress you do need to be on at least on 4 or5 or 6 floor to get the views we did we was on 4 floor . I wouldn't bother with a sea view room at the front although great views the road at the front is pretty busy and the sun only there first thing. The room was good the mini bar everyone was saying if you put your own things in they take them out we never had that ,was it because if the room situation I couldn't say but it didn't happen to us we put our own drinks in it that didn't get taken out. We had maid service everyday. The food at the hotel was ok always something to eat meditterean menue. I have had better food at other 4 star hotels.Staff were lovely all over hotel couldn't fault the service the pool area is small but beach is only over the road 10 euros a day for 2 beds and a parasol we sat at pool a couple of afternoons pool is lovely for a dip to cool down The hotel is next door to the casino in the grounds is a pool and sunbeds to hammocks and seating area with a café bar there is no charge to use this but you must spend at least 5 euros each on a drink which is easy done but was worth it was lovely and relaxing with music of all years to listen too in lovely surroundings ..Location of hotel was great for exploring Rhodes town and further a field we went to lindos by local bus 10 euros each return . Would recommend this as a must this is the second holiday to Rhodes for us Lindos is wonderful the views are breath taking.Rhodes town we lovely at night a must too visit castle at night.Loads of shops local stalls the harbour area is lovely to have a stroll day or night. On the whole we had a good holiday it was a shame the fisrt night was spoilt by the room booking.Would I go back to this hotel no as we like to try other hotels every year.
What a welcome. Make sure to look for a man at the reception desk who in case you tell him to look for another room if at all possible at an upper floor he will first respond by saying " that is it that is all I have " Following our response that you now have a disappointed client he had the courtesy and guts to say: " it is your prerogative to be disappointed " Now you have he definition of Hotel Management by a scholar. Shame what a disgrace. Congratulations to those who have him on the payroll. In case you are overweight don't try to fit in the shower. Its a hazard. Reminded me of an airplane loo. As for the size of the rooms it's XXS with minimal insolation. You can have a party if all around you. Sic. This establishment must definitely have a very strong sales office to attract its clientele given its medieval overall philosophy. Must be the Knights Castle stigma.
I have been to Rhodes before and had a chance to visit most beaches. The reason i booked this hotel was its proximity to best beach in Rhodes, Elli. It has also easy access to very good restaurants inRhodes like Tamam and Koozina. Room was very clean and stuff was very kind. Breakfast is till 10am and there might be some queue after 9.30 so i would suggest wake up a little early if you do not want to wait.
We have arrived this evening to be informed that the room we booked and payed for months in advance is not available !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's ten o'clock at night and there is no manager available that I can even speak with . Desk staff tell me I can speak to him tomorrow morning !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Mediterranean Hotel is an ideal place to stay in Rhodes. The location is great, with the beach and sea views right there and easy access to all the places in town. It is a very clean and comfortbale place. The amenities are very good. The staff is friendly and responsive. I go to Rohdes often and always look forward to my stay at this hotel.
