Hotel Mediterranean4.0 out of 5.0

Room was noisy, bathroom was constricted (had to breath in when sitting on toilet between loo roll and shower screen), and not overly clean. A/C hardly worked. Extremely limited vegetarian offerings at breakfast buffet and no consideration for using different serving cutlery for meats, eggs and cheese
I booked the hotel because they said they had air conditioning. I stayed end of April 2019 & with warm sunny days in the low 70's the room got very hot in the afternoon and evening. They only had heat available & despite several requests the hotel would not switch the systems from heat to cool as you did not have individual control in your room. Opening the balcony let the mosquitos in & the fan they provided didn't make a difference. Otherwise a nice hotel, but this impacted my stay greatly.
Based on last year very good experience we came back to Rhodes and Mediterranean hotel, but unfortunately standard of the hotel was not the same. Fact, that AC will work only from June 15 this year, was disappointing. The balcony door had to be open at night, otherwise it became unpleasantly airless in the room. In addition to the refreshing sea breeze, the traffic noise and the noise of the party in the beach came in. It was quite exhausting. And temperature was only 21-23◦ C during the first week of May, so if it will increase until June 15, it would be very uncomfortable without the AC. But beach front room is nice and spacious, cleaning standard still good, food delicious and high quality (although the choice was not as diverse as a year ago!) - the holiday was enjoyable!
The building oozes 70’s elegance and has a prime spot by the beach near the tip of the (usually) less windy east side of the town. I was kindly upgraded to a very spacious room with a balcony with side sea view. It was very comfortable albeit a bit dated. I was on half board and I enjoyed a fine breakfast as well as a well-cooked dinner with fish and meat options and good salads. The ambience in the dining room was a bit funny though with loud Greek pop music (zeibeikika!) the kind expected in skiladika clubs not in a restaurant. All in all I had a good time in this hotel and I would happily return.
Good place to visit. Good place for breakfast. Good place for dinner. Good accommodation. Good staff and very good service.Very good location. Good place to go swimming and close shops and other cafes and restaraunts.
While the location was terrific, the service was friendly, personable and attentive as requested and the space was clean, the hotel was a disappointment and unpleasant. The room was uncomfortably warm as the ac was not availble at the time of our visit in March. We would not have stayed there if told in advance the air conditioning was inoperable. The mini-bar was not working. The breakfast bar was unappealing and unappetizing. Moreover, the hotel smelled of cigarette smoke from the first steps in the lobby. The guests must have been smoking in the room beside us as our bathroom and bedroom smelled of cigarette smoke. Even with a hospitable staff, accommodating us by bringing a fan to our room and striving to help us with ride arrangements, the facility is out of date, in need of a facelift and care.
Great hotel with a real good breakfast each morning and fantastic views!! The beach front view rooms are spacious and comfortable and very relaxing. You can’t beat waking up to views of the Aegean Sea and sleeping with the slide door open to listen to the waves!
I was for three days with another couple .Everything was so good.Breakfast was excellent withmany choises!!Dimitris and Michalitsa in Restaurant were super.Ill be back soon Thank you so much.I enjoy these 3 days !!!
Dinner included in the price but you had no choices it was prefixed what you are going to it and it really sucked. Giving a good price with some extras doesn't always mean you ll get what you should get from a hotel of this level.
While the stunning location next to the Oceanfront and roaring waves cant be matched by any other property in the city, the hotel still seems to be riding on past glory and getting a bit dated and can do with a facelift. But overall the rooms, common area etc were ok enough and not too bad. LOCATION: The HIGHLIGHT of the property. Stunning setting next to the Ocean at the tip of the island with glorious views! DINE + DRINK: The biggest DOWNER and LOWLIGHT of the hotel . Super boring spread of food at the lobby level restaurant for both Dinner and Breakfast. But the Lobby level bar has bit of a old world charm and worth stopping by for an afternoon coffee or an early even pre-dinner Aperitif. ROOM: We stayed in a Sea view room on the 4th floor, so this review is based on that; VIEW:Mind Blowing Million dollar views of the Ocean and roaring waves ; SIZE: Reasonably spacious room; AIR-CON: Big bummer as we couldn't control the temperature and the room was quite hot and we had to leave the balcony door open all night and put up with the traffic & loud ocean noise as a result of that!; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Spa quality cosmetics from KORRES brand! FACILITIES: NO Gym or heated pool , so pure Greek chillout mode! SERVICE: HOspitable staff that took care of all my needs with minimal amount of warmth and smile HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. Big Plasma TV screen dishing out dozens of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment . Unfortunately ENGLISH channels were restricted to only a couple of boring News channels! Big downer!
