We loved the pool area and how quiet it was at night. Kiki and Tina were so personable and helpful! Its close to Rhodes town and the staff are fantastic. We love adults only. The food was okay and the gym a bit disappointing. Spa lovely!
I do not have a bad word to say about the Ixian All Suites. We booked a sea view hotel room in the Ixian Grand and got upgraded to a sea view Grand Suite and it was amazing! The most exciting point was when we realised we had a roof terrace with a private pool!!!! The room was clean and we were provided with robes, slippers and toiletries. The bed was comfortable and the view was stunning. There was nothing better at the end of the day than sitting on our balcony listening to the sea. Being in the suites we had access to the Alazonia restaurant where we ate breakfast every day, as with the room the view from the restaurant was stunning. The good was great with omelettes and fried eggs being cooked to order and a selection of bacon, beans, sausage etc and delicious fresh fruit and pastries. There was also cold meat which I did not try. Highlight was onion rings with breakfast!! The Alazonia also does a 5 course meal for dinner, choice of 3 or 4 options each night. Everything I ate there was lovely and the staff, specially ‘the captain’ were great. After 1 day he already knew us and which table we liked to sit at! The general buffet by the lobby was also very good, we ate lunch there most days and the choice was very good and all the good was of a good standard. However my favourite food was at the Taverna, the food there is incredible! If you go do not miss the opportunity to eat there!! Pictures included of one of my meals there. Drinks included in the all inclusive package were plentiful. Lots of choice of cocktails all freshly made none of this out of the packet rubbish, one beer choice but it was nice and sparkling wine and sparking wine cocktails also included. Both lobby and pool bar were excellent but particular mention your Stelios at the pool bar who again after not even 1 day knew our usual drinks and had some good banter!! The lobby and other parts of the hotel including the outside areas and the various water features are kept incredibly clean and tidy the whole place is just beautiful. The location of it, right on the beach is perfect. Also used the spa pool on a rainy day, extra 15EUR for access but well worth it. Such a relaxing spa area and lovely pool to swim in. Overall our stay here was just incredible!
Was on a Sisters holiday and we Stayed here end of April in a Premium Swim up room and 2 nights in the Grand Suite with Private pool. The hotel staff was amazing. Credit to them for upgrading 1 of our rooms to the Grand Suite after our tour operator who confirmed with us that an upgrade was available when we arrive but told the hotel that I did not confirm with them when I did. Anyway long story cut short and we was happy that Ixian All Suites was able to honour our request at such short notice. Daily house keeping was good , maybe just once out of 5 nights that a couple of things wasn’t replenished but we just called them up and they came up to the room with items within 5 mins. We mainly used the Alazonia restaurant for breakfast and dinner. And for lunch we ate at the Greek restaurant but the menu was the same throughout our stay but plenty of choices so could try a different item each day. Loved the concept of being in all inclusive we were served A La carte instead of buffet dining and nice presentation of the dishes. The staff there works very hard and Nicos the restaurant Captain was so friendly and joked with us that we always laughed whenever he came to our table. The dinner menu changes daily at Alazonia. Did try the main buffet restaurant once for lunch found there was a good selection of food of meat, veg and dessert. There was a small selection of pasta and pizza for the unadventurous guests. Each room type had their own pro and cons our swim up room didn’t have much sun going into the pool so was a bit useless as the plunge pool was cold and unable to sunbathe. So we just ended up going to the beach/pool. There are some rooms that we saw had sun all day though. So maybe ask for one with more sun. But the rooms now have large beanie loungers on the ledge which were great to just chill on after a day out. Separate shower and toilet cubicles but I agree with the previous reviews that the room lacked hanging/wardrobe space with just a few Hangers next to the sink. The Grand Suite was different. The room was big with double wardrobes and separate bathroom with a jacuzzi bath. Lots of storage space. Outdoor seating area and terrace with sun beds. And had sun all day. So was able to sunbathe on the terrace instead of going to the beach/pool. Also being In the all suites area we didn’t have our own bar area so we either had to walk to the lobby or the main pool for drinks . Maybe if the suites guests had our own bar near to the rooms or have a little perk of a daily replenished mini bar included we would have been able to relax/chill out more in the privacy of our rooms. Rhodes town short distance away 10 mins in the taxi around 15 euros we found every taxi we were in had a different price. Cheapest was 10 euros. 🙄 The hotel is in a Quiet neighbourhood with a few shops and a spar nearby. Only a few minor faults but overall a great hotel perfect for a relaxing peaceful holiday.
Overall this is a nice hotel, clean and good service. However, it was really hot when we were in Rhodes (as you can imagine) and the air-con in the room would not blow cold air because ‘the hotel is still set to heat until 01 May when it is switched to cool’. The temperature control in the room is irrelevant apparently. This meant that we were sleeping with the patio open and we were both bitten to death by mosquitoes, despite wearing repellant. Also, the WiFi is awful. Constantly drops out and you will use your mobile data (as I am currently). Finally, it is a buffet and local alcohol only for all inclusive. The buffet isn’t brilliant as the food quality is poor. The alcohol isn’t the best, I love wine but only had one glass of red and one glass of white all week! Lucky we got this holiday extremely cheap as it is very early in the season (they were still working on the private beach) and it may be better later on in season. However, I will not be coming back here for the normal prices quoted.
overall this hotel is what I expected, typical 3-4 star Greek all inclusive with local branded alcohol, a buffet style restaurant with a couple of al a carte restaurant's. service is very good, from the front desk, the guest relation's guy Christos & all the bar staff. there is a variety of rooms, so check what you book, the range from basic rooms, to suites, you can have a basic room with either a sea view or inland view, there as suites with private roof top pools with a sea view & suites with a sea view which share their pools to inland suites with shared pools, they also have their own resturant. the food in the buffet has a good choice for breakfast, lunch is the same thing daily but every night has a themed night such as Greek, Italian or fish, you get the idea. there is always some sort of pasta, various salads & fish of meat, plenty to chose from. the buffet can get busy in the evening, sometimes you have to wait to be seated, the restaurant manager Dimitris kontogiannis is very good, always checking that you are ok, always with a big smile on his face, he also over sees the al a carte restaurant's. you have to book for these & they are a set menu that does not change. the Greek taverna is not very Greek is style or décor but the food is amazing with a 4 course menu, the staff a chef are excellent, well worth a visit for the amazing food. there are 2 bars, a lobby bar & pool bar, besides the private suite pools there are 2 large pools, one sea water & one fresh water. there are plenty of sunbeds either around the pool, on the lawn or on the beach front. the hotel was full when we visited but there was still plenty of sunbeds. there is a very average gym with 4 treadmills & a few weights.
This was our fifth holiday in our favorite suites. And for the fifth time, we were convinced that we made the right choice. Taxi was waiting at the airport as always, Sweet as always was ready and a basket of fresh fruit and a bottle of wine were waiting in the room / I will not list all the advantages of the hotel (I already wrote about this in the previous reviews), I want to separately note a very important innovation: the hotel has a new chef, Addressas. The young Greek, who had already managed to declare himself at the cooks' consourse, we were just amazed. The variety of dishes, the presentation and their taste just stunned us / Every day a new surprise and a new dish awaited us, the fantasy of Adreas is simply parasitic / All the time this guy in the kitchen is inventing something. On Tuesdays at the restaurant degu he is having a lobster evening The menu consisted of several amazing dishes including lobster soup and the main course was a wonderful lobster dish with a delicate and excellent sauce. It was really a culinary experience and every guest must at least once taste it. It really was a memorable evening. I'm sure the new chef at the hotel added a lot of attractions to him and soon he became a very important figure in the hotel. We've been planning a trip the following year and Chef Andreas really gives this hotel an even more draw. Good for him and will continue to surprise everyone with his amazing dishes
We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of the season after spending a week there last year because we enjoyed it so much, however this time round unfortunately for us we had a totally different experience. The hotel is billed as a 5 star hotel but I wouldn't give it 3 stars. I expected the resort to be fresh, clean and vibrant but it was anything but. The hotel is room's do not represent the pictures posted on the website, please see the attached photos. The decor was grubby, old and smelt as did the soft furnishings,we stayed in the all suites and so had a private pool, the decking was stained, dirty and had been cemented to the wall,The sunloungers were badly stained and old.The outside furniture as well as the some of the inside furniture was broken and wobbled. The main dining room was chaotic every time we went there, on several occasions we were turned away and told to come back as they were full, the Greek taverna should be avoided at all costs as both the service and food were awful. We did complain on several occasions but eventually gave up as the management were appalling in their attitude to us. As returning guests I was flabbergasted it had changed that much in such a short time and I would definitely not go back or recommend this hotel.
As others have said, this is very much a 3 star hotel. We paid £1,500 for one week all inclusive with flights, I feel slightly hard done by due to false advertising by hotel on the quality of rooms and food, but I suppose that’s still relatively cheap. Wish we had booked somewhere else however. Although that seems a good price for all inclusive, read on regarding quality of food as others have pointed out. STAFF Staff are friendly and helpful at concierge and around the hotel. Really disappointed though by front desk. ROOMS Room was absolutely not what was pictured, asked about this the morning after arriving but was told all of the other rooms were fully booked. Checked online and could see I could book the deluxe room for only £100 more for the week. Upset that I wasn’t offered or able to purchase an upgrade and I don’t understand why management said they were full. The room was fairly clean, main complaint was a dirty shower head, asked for this to be cleaned but there was no improvement. Towels are also way past their best and need throwing. Off white and like cardboard. Very basic room, comfortable enough for just using to sleep and shower, disappointing to not have a place to unwind in the afternoon, no desire to spend any time in it. FOOD AND DRINKS The breakfast had a good selection, but the food goes downhill from there. Lunch was terrible, over processed food and nothing truly fresh or local. For example, cheddar and purée on soggy bread, spaghetti carbonara with tinned sauce, sloppy pretence for “moussaka”. Dinner was marginally better, there was a large selection but perhaps because of that the quality suffered. Food here is purely for sustenance and not enjoyment. Puddings are radioactive and fluorescent covered cream. House spirits are okay, albeit very sweet tonic. House red is just about drinkable. Cocktails look radioactive and overly sweet. It’s a shame as it doesn’t take too much effort to make a proper one, as with most things in this hotel it is just pure laziness as guests have no other nearby options. DEGU 7 We had a voucher for one meal at DEGU 7 so quite excited to escape the canteen. It was one of the most entertaining meals. A course skipped, 50% of ingredients missing - ignore any references to fois grad. The soup was just potato and celery. One course was coleslaw on pastry. The chicken dish was shredded tinned chicken, possibly soaked in the soup. POOL AND BEACH Very nice pool and sunbathing area, close to bar and toilets. Beach is pebbled and small but perfectly fine. The sea on this side of the island is rough, so looks clean but very cloudy due to choppy undercurrent. SPA Spa is pretty poor. It was impossible to get a same day appointment but was able to book for the following day. The roof was leaking and mouldy in places, couldn’t use the steam room as smelt of mold so was worried it wouldn’t be healthy. No robes, water or tea. Fairly pointless. GYM Gym is basic, a few treadmills, one bike, some matts and free weights. Couple of weight machines, sufficient for a quick workout. Disappointed by the yoga, lasted less than 20 minutes but instructor was helpful and friendly. COOKERY AND WINE TASTING Was excited by the free cookery and wine tasting, but was told to check 30 minutes before it starts if it would go ahead as they generally don’t get enough takers. Feels like they could make more of an effort to advertise and get people to join so they can go ahead.
This Hotel is Over crowded. Listening to reports from visitors that come regularly the management have increased the foot fall, result packed in like sardines on the grass area which is basically only area. Pools were not hygienically maintained, I was up very early. Result a lot of coughing Guest. only al a carte, wasn't. Staff tried hard to cope with the help yourself restaurant. To many people, so uncomfortable coming down to eat to see throngs of people holding their plates and queuing.A/I is what it is! Over 16 only a blessing or children would have been tripping over the sun beds. Food was good some nights, cold others. Junior staff tried hard to accommodate. If you was lucky enough to get shaded sun bed, there was some escape. We usually keep away from Thomson FI hotels, but this one reports to be a Sentido hotel, not so all are franchised. My husband enjoyed his meals he could fill up his plate on meat. So go if you don't mind the crowds , whilst relaxing on your sun beds and eating your meals. Wine by the glass as advertised, to add semi palatable.
Doesn’t have the wow factor when you arrive outside but when you enter the hotel it’s beautiful. The food changes every night and really tasty. Couldn’t complain about the hotel or staff at all. Just an amazing relaxing week. Directly on the beach made of stones so take some beach shoes and take some clips to hold your towel to the sun bed as very windy due to being on the sea front. Loved the hotel so much just so beautiful.
