Anavadia Hotel - All Inclusive4.0 out of 5.0

If you get a deal like us, and are going expecting the 3 star all inclusive you paid for. Not 5 star luxury you will have a great time at this hotel. Our room was clean and the aircon worked well. There is also 2 nice pools. The bar staff were the best especially Michael. However towards the end of our trip the queue for the bar was ridiculous and he is there on his own. It was around a 20 minute wait for a drink. (Presumably this is on purpose as they want to serve as little drinks as possible. Being an all inclusive resort) They had a wine/beer pump at the buffet but when my boyfriend used it instead of the bar after the food had ended. A night shift receptionist called nick was really rude and aggressive, depsite all the other staff being fine with him using the pump. Due to the queues and us paying for all inclusive, afterall! The receptionist was also very unhelpful. First she told us there was no bus to Falaraki and we would have to get a €25 taxi each way. However we figured out ourselves there was one for €2 each every hour right outside our hotel. Also before we left we asked to use their printer to print my boyfriends boarding pass as he couldnt use a mobile one. The same receptionist told us the printer was broken. We asked about local internet cafes. But she just there was loads of printers at the airport and not to worry. Which wasnt true and resulted in a €60 fine for not printing it out before. Overall we had an amazing holiday! Rhodes was lovley and the hotel was good considering what we paid for it.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Anavadia hotel for a week in early July. We opted for the all inclusive board which we ended up regretting. The breakfast is okay (if you like croissants and pancakes but stay away from the “full English”) lunch was ok if you like salads same goes for dinner. Free drinks are only wine and beers and cheap Greek alcohol which i found horrible. We ended up eating and drinking outside of the hotel nearly every day. The pools are nice. The staff doesn’t really care about customer service or in general their customers and they hardly speak English so don’t expect much. On our last night we went out for dinner and returned later in the night to our room to find that the staff had let themselves in while we were out and emptied the mini bar in our room even though we had paid all our mini bar bills daily (as requested by the hotel-also bizarre) I found this to be incredibly rude. The actual room was nice we had a little balcony and air con worked well. Water pressure is very low so the shower was a bit temperamental and the loo didn’t flush well all the time. This was quite annoying. Overall we had a lovely holiday and the island is beautiful but I won’t be staying at this hotel again. I wouldn’t really recommend this hotel and definitely not the lo inclusive as it’s really not worth it!!
If I could give half a star more than 4 I really would as this place JUST misses out on a full 5 stars! Me and my partner have just got home from spending a week all inclusive at the Anavadia hotel. The atmosphere, food, staff and location is just spot on. We wanted a bit of escapism as we both have jobs that provide a lot of deadlines, stress and sitting for long hours in front of computer screen. The hotel on first arrival was a beautiful sight, walking over the bridge next to the water feature and into the reception area was very welcoming. We were greeted by Evita who we were to find is such a lovely and beautiful soul. More on her later though. As we had a late arrival and the restaurants/bar had finished serving food they had packed us a few sandwiches, fruit and bottles of water which were well received. The hotel is split into two main parts. There are rooms connected to the main part and then the buildings where we stayed. Obviously an extension for them but the part we stayed was a fair walk from the amenities. But saying that the view of the mountains in the morning and the mountain goats grazing just over the fencing was a nice touch. This is where the half a star is taken off. The room is very basic. Not at all an issue for us as it is really only somewhere to sleep and get freshened up etc but to give an honest review I couldn't give the full 5 stars unfortunately. The bedding was changed daily along with the towels. There was a fridge, TV and table and chairs on the balcony. Plenty wardrobe and drawer space too. Along with a safe (which comes at a cost of €20 for the week) . The bathroom could have done with a deep clean as a bit of limescale on the shower etc but all in all that would just be my cleaning OCD (Hincher at heart) The room is fully air conditioned though (always a nice welcome back to the room when it's blazing outside and instantly into coolness) There are two swimming pools at the hotel. One at the front which is quiet and peaceful (we only used this on the last day but both wished we'd had used it more throughout the week) There were sun umbrellas but the sun loungers were not as comfortable as the ones at the other pool. The second pool was located at the rear of the hotel which had music, bar and pizzeria/eatery (which is extra and not included in All Inclusive). The sun loungers were so comfortable around the pool. Both pools very clean and to a great standard. All Inclusive was great. Drinks were a list of around 6 cocktails and you could have the basics (vodka, rum, wine) all non brand. Also you could have tea, coffee etc. The food was set into 3 seating times. Breakfast (0730-1000hrs), Lunch (1230-1400hrs) and Tea (1930-2115hrs) and in the other times the main bar offered sandwiches, biscuits etc (1000-1200hrs and 1600-1800hrs) The food during meal times was amazing. From reading other reviews we are shocked that people haven't enjoyed it. Is it because it wasn't British food? Well sorry but we were in Greece and the food was very traditional and so so beautiful. You could tell that the staff took their time making it all and the skill/experience really showed. We did mention to the staff that some of the food did need labelling as we really wanted to know what we were eating so as to try and recreate at home as we were so impressed. Wi-Fi at the hotel came at a cost and you had to pay if you wanted to use it. No big issue for us as we said we came for a relaxing break and didn't want to be online. But I can see that if you're going All Inclusive it should really be included. There is a shop just next to the reception which sold ice creams, clothing, sunglasses, suncreams, cigarettes, crisps, chocolate and souvenirs. There was always someone there to assist too whatever time. The hotel was in walking distance to other bars (visit Vasili's Café just around the corner, the cocktails (WOW)), shops and the beach. Also the bus stop is only across the road to travel to Rhodes, Lindos etc. To be mindful though that the timings shown on the timetable are for the bus arriving into Kolymbia and not for that stop. It then has to make it's way around the area before the stop so you could be waiting 20 mins extra. On our last day the check out was 1200hrs and the hotel offers a luggage room for you to leave your baggage and also we were able to book into a Courtesy room for 30 mins for shower/freshen up) This was a hotel room so had beds, chairs, shower etc (more than we expected) Evita on the main reception. What a down to earth, kind and lovely woman! Always happy to assist and always smiling and very approachable. This lady deserves a raise! She really made our holiday and we will miss her (Give a big hug to George from us!) Saying that all the other staff on the bars, restaurant etc were all welcoming and approachable. All in all we have had such a beautiful week away and we would definitely return!
Lovely clean hotel with very friendly staff. Restaurant well stocked with a variety of dishes for all tastes. Nothing too much for staff in helping you enjoy your holiday. Two separate pool areas with pool bars. Would certainly stay here again. As with all resorts in the Mediterranean there is a number of cats around the area but we never felt that they were a nuisance. Room safes are available for a modest sum.
We arrived, having booked 2 rooms. On reception, we were told there was a problem with the room, and we would have to go in a family room. 4 beds, in one room and 1 bathroom. We were too tired to care, so agreed, and they said they would move us in the morning. I asked for a safe, and they gave it us free, because of the room situation. They had saved us some food, which was nice, as we arrived after the cafe had closed. The room was nice, as a temporary stop gap. Morning came, and we asked for the room changes. They said it will be ready later....it will be ready later... then we will move you to a suite. 2 rooms, 1 bathroom. They sent us fruit and wine, and we would sort the room tax later on. We asked for wifi, and they also gave that to us free. A week on, there was no space for 4 adults, fighting over the bathroom and no alone time for mum and dad, so I got my hair off, and spoke to jet2holiday rep, and asked if we could be compensated, as we had booked 2 rooms. Then the manager got involved, and gave us a second suite next door ,the same day. The tax was left until the end of the holiday, as it is for each room, and i dont think they knew what to do about the situation, to charge us for one room or 2,as we were messed about so much.I dont think they would have been so accommodating in full season. Anyway... the food was OK, very same same. All inclusive alcoholic spirits are a thimble measure, if youre lucky. Most decent spirits are to be bought separate. Yet bacardi in a pina colada is free, but not on its own, (its extra) or with coke????? All inclusive finishes at 11pm. Entertainment isnt advertised properly. Other hotels have a notice board, of the weekly events. We missed greek night, which i was mad about. they had another one,but we could of gone out elsewhere,if we had known about the first one.Its very isolated. You need to get a bus to go anywhere. There are a few shops and bars,in walking distance, but not many. Faliraki is 2.20 euro on the bus. Bus times are awful, never on time. taxi from Falkraki is around 23 euro. Theres more going on there. Its very clean, but the maids are a bit moody. Bar staff are good, and the receptionists are helpful. They work very long hours. As said, if it was full season, meal times would be awful. There wouldnt be enough tables and chairs. Plenty of sunbeds now (June/july) but in peak season i think you would struggle. Pools are very nice and refreshing. 2 pools, and a separate baby pool, which babies never used! Safe is 20 euros a week and same for wifi, (for 2 devices), quite reasonable. If it was in a different location, i would go back,in spite of the initial room drama. Beds were comfy and nice and quiet at night. Parasols as screwed to the ground, so stops other people hogging them.

For a cheap get away I’m really surprised ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING!! do not come here rude staff apart from Michael on the bar!! Your food sucks your staff suck ‘apart from Michael’ you’ve sold a lie On line many guest complain about the overall experience! Rules change on a daily basis more times than the food menu the pool needs a good scrubbing the weather was beaut!!! That’s not in your control though Anavadia ACCUSED of theft at last minute with video evidence of them apologising too!! :) minimal entertainment so bring a deck of cards! overall lovely holiday just a shocking hotel oh yeah sheets dirty on the bed they barely change waste bins ruined my partners birthday present thanks a bunch!! But met some lovely folks while we were away and had a great time SHOCKING HOTEL ONCE again and evita you are terrible MICHAEL and maybe Gurvin you Guys are good lads!
The staff really friendly, nice quite location not to busy or noisy. Nice clean rooms, you can always find something to eat at the all inclusive. But there’s a good restaurant about a 5 minute walk away if you fancy a change.
Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel and we had such a wonderful time the hotel is beautiful and well kept and the rooms are very spacious and of a good standard. Unfortunately the WiFi didn’t work in our first room however that was dealt with efficiently and we were fortunate enough to be moved to a family room where the WiFi did work. The blonde women in reception who unfortunately we never caught her name is a great credit to the hotel very helpful and attentive and always so friendly. The food was of a good standard and there are many leaflets around the hotel advertising days out the boat trip to Lindos is one I would recommend it was stunning!!!
We had an amazing 1 week all inclusive holiday at Anavadia. The staff were all incredibly friendly, helpful and worked incredibly hard to make our stay special. The location was perfect, a nice walk to the beach with bars and shops on the way. The room was very clean and exactly like the photos, which doesn’t often happen! We even had a jacuzzi bath which was an added bonus. The mini bar was so well priced and useful. We really enjoyed the food which had many different options, the barbecued food area was brilliant! I loved that there was lots of local food to try, it was all delicious. Both pools were clean and always a sun bed. I feel that there are some very harsh reviews on here and having visited now I am not sure why. It exceeded my expectations and we will be back soon!
