Fine if you’re backpacking through with your own blankets etc. blankets are not included in the price.

Disclosure: Hotel is a former USAF BOQ. This is basic housing, one step above a hostel. We had room in the new building that just opened and it wasn't ready. Coffee maker was in pieces with no operating instructions. TV is mounted on a swing arm directly above the bed. It could be mounted on the wall directly across from the foot of the bed. The very nice shower wasn't fully enclosed, making for a wet floor (bare concrete). The bathroom shelf interfered with using the sink. The bed was good. Overall I give them 4 stars as they should be judged by hotels in their price range.

I booked the shared room. It was fine. However I got in very late after midnight. So had to take taxi to hotel. Cost for taxi was 3600isk more than cost for the room. No blanket on my bed. Room was bunk beds about half full. Few people came in later. Bathroom was clean but down one floor. Room got colder at night I woke up few times from the cold wish I had gone to look for help to get blankets. Morning booked shuttle back to airport for 600isk. Was surprised that they had the rental car bus come pick us up.

The location of the place is perfect. The room was very comfortable

This is very much like a dorm, everything is very very basics. For the price, it's fine. We just need a place to sleep. Super close to the airport, parking was free. However, they didn't let us check in early and we had a long flight. The staff referred us to a nearby swimming pool to shower.

Like: close to airport and relatively inexpensive Dislike: small beds, basic amenities, lack of transport to travel to Reykjavík.

Very spacious room but no elevator. Kinda sucks of you have luggage to carry up & down.

Very close to the airport, nice common space and great value all around, especially for Iceland!

Really nice place for the price compared to others in Iceland. It’s super close to the airport, and they have 24 hour check in, which makes it convenient with flying in early! Would definitely stay there again.

I was surprise with the comfortable bed and room cleaned. I just wish the bathrooms were on the same floor...

Transportation to hotel from airport is extremely expensive, taxi only. No hotel shuttles. Public bus schedule is super slow and access to bus stop is very inconvenient. Located far from restaurants and shops. Have to walk 30 min and cross highway to access supermarket and some fast food places.

Nice and friendly staff thank you from USA will be back

Good choice if you need some rest before early morning fly on a budget

Great cheap shuttle to the airport in the early morning Good accommodations Old USA base so basic needs r met No frills but clean & comfortable

I am very unhappy with Orbitz and the Base Hotel in Iceland. I received no confirmation of my booking from Orbitz so I phoned the hotel 3 days prior to coming to Iceland. The staff told me they had no record of my reservation! I want my money back!!!

I stayed at this hostel overnight because I had an early morning flight. For a hostel, it was nice, and I only had to share a bathroom with one other room. The electricity in my room, however, randomly shut off for 2 hours in the evening. When it turned back on, the TV came on with it, which woke me up. The shuttle to the airport in the morning was also a little late, though I got to the airport in time for my flight.
