Pleasant stay and a family friendly hotel. Tasteful breakfast buffet, charming rooms. In the middle of the old town with lots of taverns and boutiques. But, since it's in middle of old town it's just for pedestrians. The taxidriver took us close but we had to walk 5-10 minutes. If you have heavy bags or trouble walking that may be a problem.
It is a very beautiful hotel and it is a 5 star hotel and there is free wifi internet and there is a pub and here is the food test and the hotel's decoration is very beautiful and the hotel's view is also beautiful
Located on a quaint block, the Veneto Hotel was an unbelievably relaxing and spacious stay. The suite we stayed in had a living room, incredibly well-decorated bathroom, and beautiful bedroom—with a unique beauty space. The location is a perfect distance from everything you would want to see in the city, including the fortress (Fortezza), the downtown area, and around the corner from the best restaurant we had gone to in Greece (suggested by the receptionist). The service was fantastic. In fact, I ended up leaving my shoes at a nearby store and would not be back to the town for a few days. The hotel ended up calling them, walking to pick them up, and kept them at the front desk for a few nights. In all other matters during our stay, the service was just as out-of-their-way welcoming as could be.
Stayed for just a couple of nights but I relaxed so much in this beautiful atmosphere! The building is renovated to meet the standards of a 5 star hotel but you don't have to pay that much! Book the suite though,it's well worth it!
Great location! Rooms charming! Food - to die for! The folks at the hotel are very knowledgable and interesting to talk with regarding wines, food, art of the area. Conversation with them added a great deal to our visit and understanding of the region.
Myself and my partner recently had the pleasure of staying at Veneto ,where we were treated to the wonderful hospitality of our hosts Yannis and Argiro. We mostly enjoyed the delicous food and ambience of their restaurant. There was always lovely fresh fish on offer as well as some very tasty vegan starters and main courses(my partner being vegan enjoyed this immensely as vegans are often not well catered for in a lot of restaurants) We also loved the vast selection of wines available. I must say that i also became a huge fan of their cheesecake...which probably accounts for the extra few kilos around my waist when we left! All in all we were spoilt rotten by our always friendly and jovial hosts in their very special place.....
Recently spent 4 nights at this charming hotel. We had a deluxe two room suite. The furniture was indicative of a charming Greek home with a very modern lovely bathroom. Rooms were clean and ours had a small balcony overlooking the courtyard. Their breakfast which is included in the room rate was tasty with a great selection of cakes cheese and local delicacies. The breakfast area in the courtyard was serene with water fountains. It rained during our stayed and we move into their elegant dining room. Yannis Prokopakis the owner was there in the evening to greet us and insisted we try his raki and his wife's homemade liquor. Stella was the receptionist and helped us greatly when our flights were cancelled.
The accommodation was of high quality, excellent shower, very clean. The location is central in the old town. The restaurant was excellent, delivering an up market twist on typical Cretan dishes. Breakfast was not the best 7/10. The best way to think of this hotel is as a restaurant with rooms- and the absence of a seating area (other than in one of the restaurant rooms) was a disappointment, particularly as our room (a suite) lacked a veranda or terrace. If I was coming again then I'd definitely ask for a suite with veranda- if not available I'd probably go elsewhere (and eat at the restaurant).
We recently stayed here with friends for 10 days. The hotel is beautiful and characterful, one of the nicest we have stayed in. The staff, without exception were second to none. As well as treating us like friends they were extremely efficient and worked as a delightful team. We already miss them! The food was delicious especially when taken in the delightful ancient courtyard. We would certainly like to return some day.
We stayed at the Veneto for 10 days and were absolutely delighted with our stay. The hotel is in the most beautiful setting and the building is charming and full of character. We stayed in room 103, which was on the first floor overlooking the street outside, which didn't prove to be any problem as the windows were double glazed and kept any noise to a minimum. The room (which had a mezzanine floor with the bedroom and a sitting room downstairs) was clean and well equipped with a kettle and fridge as well as plates and cutlery. We thoroughly enjoyed having breakfast in the beautiful courtyard at the back of the hotel - it was a peaceful oasis to enjoy the lovely fresh Cretan delights at breakfast. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - we were sad to leave, but hope to go back some time.
