This hotel was okay for a 4 star hotel in Italy. The lobby was very inviting. We walked in bc we wanted to view the rooms first. They showed us a corner room on the fourth floor with a wrap around balcony for $180. We found it online for $150. There was a beautiful large pool but no indoor gym. Their gym consisted of a treadmill, a cross trainer and a stationary bike and they were underneath a tarp outside next to the pool. Breakfast was included. Nothing fancy only the basic continental breakfast, but scrambled eggs, raw bacon and pancakes. The staff in the dining room were exceptional. They had a nice assortment of fruits. Dinner was not worth the price $35pp. The head waiter made our dining experience enjoyable. He was a charming older man who spoke English and made sure we had everything we needed. The room they ended up giving us, bc we used online booking was much smaller than the corner unit, but it was sufficient and clean. There's plenty of parking on the street if you're driving.
My family and I had the pleasure of attending the Hotel Universal in July 2017. It is a beautiful hotel on the water. The best breakfast experience that we have had in Italy. We also ate one night in the hotel for dinner and the food and service was great. What really impressed us was the friendliness and helpfulness of the ENTIRE staff. The front desk staff was so wonderful and spoke fluent English. The dining staff and cleaning staff was also so friendly. A really positive tone/ vibe from the staff made for such a pleasant stay. Be sure to enjoy the beach across the street and have a dinner right next to the beach. We had a great meal at Balcar, a restaurant directly across the street from the hotel. As a bonus, we had a beautiful room overlooking the beach. We really enjoyed admiring the view from the balcony.
The staff, location and breakfast buffet made for a delightful stay. The decor is a bit dated, but the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. We loved the breakfast buffet, which was included with our rooms. It had a wide variety of foods to satisfy everyone in our family. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They provided towels for the beach and pool, which is a nice amenity for travelers.
Been here numerous times in the past and have always felt extremely welcome. The food is truly Italian. The staff are bilingual and exceed themselves at all times. The rooms are immaculate. It is like a home from home. Nothing is impossible at this hotel. The staff are like family as they endevour to make sure you have a great holiday. 1 minute walk from the beach, look no further than bagno balmor.
We were in a small room on our first night because the hotel was full and they were unable to give us the room they had wanted to. But then they moved us to a room on the top floor with a lovely view of the beach. This was big and spacious with a small balcony/terrace. TV but no kettle or coffee-making facilities. Free WiFi but it was a bit unstable, possibly due to full hotel. The bathroom was big with a fancy shower/bath/hot-tub. Bathrobes and slippers provided too. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection on offer. Bit of a walk to town centre but some good restaurants not too far away. Would definitely stay here again.
Great location and customer service. At first we were disappointed with the room. The decor was dated, and the room had an odd smell of fresh paint, or something. But the bathroom was newer, and the room very clean. The bed was hard, but they quickly added two mattress pads when we asked, which made it very comfortable. Breakfast is included and was very good. The host took a lot of pride in setting up the buffet and making sure you were pleased with the food. I would recommend it for the location, the cleanliness and the service.
Good location, near the pine forest and opposite the beach. It is not very close to the centre, but the view from the room is wonderful. The staff was very friendly and kind, breakfast was good, but the room was a bit small. The pool was clean and warm, but not suitable for the winter, as no real walls surround it, but it's a kind of pavillon, and the gym too. No courtesy bathrobe and slippers are provided. Very clean and tidy, there's also a small room for children, with some toys and a tv.
We stayed here while doing the dragon boat festival in Ravenna. We are a group of visually impaired paddlers. The hotel was amazing in how they did everything possible to accommodate us. The front desk people were very helpful. Its was great how the adapted to tell us how to get to places. you can't just show us on a map you actually have to use word directions. The buffet breakfast was more than any other hotel we had experience while in Italy. The selection was fantastic and tasted great. The people bringing the coffee were very great. You went once and they remember each and every day what you had and would always bring it with a smile. I would go back and stay here anytime. And I will recommend this hotel to all.
It looks like this hotel was built in 80s and it really needs some updating. We stayed in double room facing the back of the hotel. The view from a room was to a roof top of the hotels kitchen. Not very nice. The price of 150.00 euros per night was high for what we got. The continental breakfast was also included in a price. Nothing special there as well. I am giving positive mark for the staff only. They were very nice and welcoming and they spoke English which is not common in Italy. Over all i would not recommend this hotel.
We arrived home 2 days ago after a wonderful and relaxing holiday at the Universal in Cervia. It had been our second visit to the hotel which we first stayed at in 2012. The fact that we returned to it this year meant that we were very impressed by the hotel. It is immaculately clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and we really want to visit the hotel and Cervia again.
