AmericInn Lodge & Suites Rapid City

We were just passing through on the way from Minnesota to Utah and happened to pick the AmericInn Lodge & Suites for our stopover because it was the most reasonably priced hotel we found. It was pretty cool to see a waterslide poking out of the building as I pulled in to the parking lot. And it only got better from there! The building was well-maintained, the heater in the room worked, high speed internet was included, and the staff was highly attentive. Of course that's minimum expectation any traveler should have for a hotel and shouldn't be worth mentioning. But I mention it, because NONE of that stuff was true about the Motel 6 we stayed at on the way out. Where they REALLY went above and beyond was with the FABULOUS breakfast experience! Biscuits & Gravy, Sausage & Eggs, a Make-Your-Own Waffle Station with FRESH Strawberry Syrup! I've never seen a breakfast like that included in the price of the room. Especially at $40/night! Oh, and not only do they have a waterslide on site, their guests get free admission to the indoor waterpark down the road! I can't wait for my son to get big enough to play in the water because I have a feeling that the AmericInn Lodge & Suites is going to be a regular oasis on our family road trips. I'll happily drive a few hundred miles out of the way and add an extra day to our adventures just to spend it there ;)

The facility is showing wear. The room was good but the shower had long dark hairs in it.

Horrible, liars. Chlorine made kids vomit, dirty. Liars, withheld our receipt. Completely horrible and have told everyone about it. Will continue to write reviews about this horrid place. And will never use orbitz again either. Have proof of the fire department being called and the hotel lying and Orbitz and the hotel both refuse to give a refund. Completely acceptable

It was the end of the season but the young man who checked us in treated us as if we were the most important guests he had! The hotel is older but maintained. Mattress, pillows, and shower were all exceptional, which is most important after a day of hiking and seeing the sights!

literally the worst hotel i have ever seen and been in. I will be calling the news, the fire department again and the health department again!!!! When asked for a refund because we had to call the fire and health departments, the hotel said they had no record of us complaining.. my kid and other kids were coughing so badly from the amount of chlorine in the air and pools that they were almost vomiting. we called and complained to the front desk and were told that people do not shower before.. The hotel people are liars and aside from the health scare of my 4 year old from the chlorine (we couldn't even go in that pool area because our eyes burned so badly) the floors were dirty and we actually had to ask for a broom to be brought up because the cleaning lady didn't clean the dead flies and old hair that was before we got in our room!!! they actually brought us a broom to sweep ourselves!!!!!!! the sheets were for queen beds and they were actually king beds. so the sheet kept coming off and i was sleeping on a nasty mattress. The sofa bed was broken, the springs were broken on one side. The front desk would not give us a receipt!!! so when i asked for a refund they said we will not be getting on because they have no records of our complaints. I will be calling the health department and local news and every avenue i can in order to see that people lives are not at risk anymore from this crap hole. there is a long list of what went on

We stayed at this hotel twice during our road trip in Western S. Dakota. The price was excellent and the amenities (kids loved the water slide and pool area (adult swim 11pm-12am was great idea). Breakfast was good and the room was clean, beds comfortable, and nice bathroom. There was plenty of parking spaces and the "resort fee" included a free soda. two for one drinks at surrounding places and free water park admission for 2. It was close to Mout Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, and Bear Country USA.

Convenient location, good breakfast, rooms clean but look old. Advertised price at hotel each night was less than I had paid 3 months ahead.

Beautiful hotel & great customer service (especially the gentleman working the night front desk). The room was very spacious, super clean & comfortable. Breakfast was great....so much more to choose from the most hotel breakfast bars & the staff kept up with keeping everything filled. The only thing I can find to complain about is the pool & jacuzzi had so much chlorine that it burnt ones eyes almost immediately. Will definitely stay again when back in the area.

We stayed over a weekend when the motel had no vacancy. The breakfast staff kept the food and coffee resupplied. No waiting for anything. They were friendly unobtrusive and efficient. The water slide was useable for tiny kids and not to boring for the big kids.

clean, really comfy beds, good food selection, awesome pool

We love everything about this AmericInn hotel chain. Indoor pool with water slide, sauna, exercise room, laundry room, hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, waffle maker with variety toppings ... We can go on and on about this great place but most of all was their excellent services of professional staff. If you visit Mt Rushmore or Custer State park, stay here instead of Hill city. We bailed out from our reservation with an overpriced rundown hotel in Custer which still give us the Bates motel effects. I will definitely stay with AmericInn again and will recommend to others.

This hotel saved us from the yucky overpriced "Dakota Cowboy hotel" in Hill City. AmericInn and Suites will be our choice from now on if we travel out west. We was totally love everything about this hotel. From the warm welcome of professional staff and cleanliness of the room. To top it of, they offer indoor pool with water slide, sauna, laundry room, the hot breakfast, complimentary drinks and countless reasons for you to feel like home. Walking distance to restaurants and grocery shop when needed. Thank you for making our trip a lot better. I was glad to waste my reservation with other motel to replaced it with this nice hotel. You will be pleased I promise.

The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the kids had a blast on the water slide. There is free hot cocoa and cider 24 hrs a day. The kids lived to warm up with cocoa after swimming. We had a free upgrade to a double king room which was spacious and comfortable. The hotel's breakfast was basic but satisfying. It would have been nice to have slightly healthier options such as oatmeal and fruit, but that is probably more of a personal preference. The hotel is also near several family friendly restaurants. Overall it was a great stay.

Hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. The hotel had a water slide and kids refused to leave the bottom of the slide so my husband kicked some kid in the face when he came down. I realize that's more on the parents, but they should monitor that. There was no towels in the pool area and when I asked for some, they brought 5. The pool was packed at this time. The pool was very cold for a "heated pool". Very disappointed with breakfast! There was no place to sit...the place was a mess...and the food was all gone and it was only 8...didn't have staff checking and refilling stuff...Staff that checked us out rushed us and didn't even offer us a receipt.

Very nice and clean rooms. Everyone was great. Food and drinks for purchase. Heated pool was nice. Never had a chance to eat breakfast there but looks like a nice setup. 32 piece breakfast.

Room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was hot, but not great.

Large rooms, well priced and easy to find. The free breakfast was incredible. You cann.t beat it whether staying for a week or just over night. great beds with nice pillows. Staff outstanding.

I stay here when I can prices are always decent, not terribly over priced and overall it is Cozy defiantly a good place to stay. My Only problem is that after a day at work the hot tub always sounds good, but they obviously have some kind of issue with there hit tub, about every other time I stay here the hot tub is closed... Not a huge deal, but it's nice to kick back and relax when possible..

Very clean and family oriented. The pool was nice but to cold on the second day.

We did get a free upgrade, which was nice. But there was a half of a plastic fork stuck in our sheets. And the bed was not very comfortable. Staff was great, breakfast ok.
