Shana Hotel & Residence

Had a great stay at Shana! It was very well kept and in a peaceful location. Wish they offered a shuttle service to local attractions or at least the bus stop. That would have made it exceptional!!

Spectacular jungle canopy views from rooms and restaurant. Got to watch a group of squirrel monkeys in the morning doing some insanely impressive acrobatic leaps. Great included breakfast. Pizza at restaurant was spectacular. Fun to watch them cook it. Not too expensive for a pizza that feeds two. Didn't try rest of restaurant menu, but it looked overpriced. Went in early December when whether was nice but crowds were low. Spent a lot of time hiking around all the trails in Manuel Antonio park and enjoying the views and wildlife, in particular the monkeys at the beaches in the park. Just outside the park, you can book a guide to take you kayaking to nearby reefs, where you can tie up the kayaks and snorkel. Note: be forewarned that the access to Playa Espadilla is not nearly as easy as it looks on the map. To use that beach, you'll probably want to take car or a shuttle a few kilometers and park it by the entrance to Manuel Antonio park. On the upside, there is a another little beach that is easy to access from the hotel and very nice.

Beautiful setting, you can hear the monkeys every morning and see them occasionally if you look carefully. Only problem was I had to do some work while there and the WIFI did not work unless you went outside and then it was marginal

2 nights stay, 2 nights water shower problem, as well as toillet does not working through the morning check out, back from the beach at around 5pm, waiting for 2 to 3 hours for fixes in the hotel restaurant . We're offered to use other room bathroom. Very uncomportable and inconvenience.

Small hotel, contemporary rooms with glass, chrome and stone. The only thing slightly annoying was to find out the in room coffee is not free, but costs $3. This is the first place I have every had to pay for in room coffee. A/C and tv worked great. The nearby beach is close by and very basic.

The hotel is in a great location. The facilities are the perfect size, intimate but stocked with the needed amenities. The staff is great and the food is excellent.

We were only at the Shana Hotel one night, so didn't get to take advantages of many of the amenities they offered. We did have a tour of the property and a free welcome drink (iced tea). Warning, the driveway is a very steep downhill grade, so make sure brakes are in good working order! Our superior rooms were at the bottom of the hill, so we could either walk up, or call for a golf cart ride. The problem there is that the cart holds 4 people, including the driver. Since there were 4 of us, two usually walked. The complimentary breakfast included different flavored breads, fruit, yogurt, rice and beans, eggs, juice, cereal, and a few other misc. items I'm not remembering. The dining area has both ocean and jungle views. We even watched a monkey in the distant trees while we dined. As far as the room, it was nice, but nothing great. The box spring and mattress sit on the floor, so a little low. Beds were fine for sleeping. The bathroom was nice with a large multi-jet shower with a rainhead. The problem for me was that the jets weren't adjustable. At 5'8", the top jet of three pelted me in the neck. You couldn't turn off just one jet. The biggest negative for us was that it didn't seem the floors had been mopped. Your feet got dirty just walking across the room. Over all, a nice stay.

WE HAD A GREAT TIME.THE STAFF WAS GREAT AND VERY HELPFUL.FOOD WAS GOOD ALSO.ONLY THING IS LOTS OF CABS TO RIDE BUT REALLY IT WAS CHEAP.DO TAKE THE TOURS IT MAKES IT MORE FUN.

The hotel staff was great, and the room was perfect. Loved the private beach. Great views. Hotel is in just the right place.

This is a nice hotel, but it is def overpriced for what it offers.
