The location is perfect for the first time visitors. It is right by the water bus stations for the route 1, 4.1, 4.2, 5.1.5.2, 14, etc. We found it very convenient to get the places we wanted. It is a few minutes walk to the most popular St Marko square. Good restaurants are all around. The front desk service is terrific and very helpful. The room is clean, very quiet for good quality sleep. The breakfast offers wide variety of options and we loved it. We highly recommend it.

Cramped rooms but stellar location. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone working on a budget.

Very base. You have to ask for replacement coffee and teas. The location is excellent and staff courteous.

We liked the location. Very close to St. Mark’s Square. Our hotel room was nice.

We were a family of four and the room was perfect. We had a balcony which opened to an inner courtyard and a wood beamed ceiling. Showers were hot and plenty of closet space and the convenience of a small refrigerator. We had a queen and two singles. Breakfast was included in our stay and the spread was super ranging from fresh fruit, cold cuts, yogurt, cereal, strudel, and hot scrambled eggs. The location was ideal as we arrived via water taxi and merely pulled our suitcases across the water front terrace. No stairs and this was a plus as we watched people struggle with their suitcases up and down the bridges elsewhere throughout the city.

Extremely helpful front desk staff: Pleasant and always approachable, provided excellent guidance, directions and suggestions. Our room was in the 'back' of the hotel, which was a plus because, although we didn't have a view of the St. Georgio church across the canal, we did have a view of the St. Zacharias church and relative quiet from the street noise that continues into the night. We are grateful that we found this gem - we were well accommodated during our stay there.

Breakfast could be better. No fruit, and small offering of prepared scrambled eggs.

Very good hotel. Desk people speaks local, English, Spanish languages. Very friendly.

Good hotel for what you pay, in front of the grand canal and 100 m from Piazza San Marcos , the best location!!!

We arrived in Venice after traveling for hours by train. It was raining and we were, quite obviously, cold and tired. The desk clerk greeted us as if we were an inconvenience. The room had been booked and paid for 8 months in advance, so he took my cc information to pay the city taxes. We had requested two rooms side by side since we were traveling with our teenage daughters and wanted to be close, but were informed that the computer had made the room selection and there was an occupied room between our two rooms. Disappointing, but workable. We would just split up and have an adult and child in each room. Then the issue of card keys came up. We've always had two keys per room in case we decided to split up and meet back at the hotel. Not with the Paganelli. They begrudgingly agreed to give us two keys after letting us know that it was an imposition. But we would have to pay a 5 Euro deposit for each key. Fine, just put it on our credit card. Nope. It's too difficult for them to remove the charge at check out. It had to be cash. We didn't have any Euros on us at that time so we asked if they would hold US cash as a deposit, since they were just going to give it back in two days anyway. Nope. It had to be in Euros. It was now 7:30 pm and we were tired, wet and hungry. The clerk could tell we were frustrated, but he wouldn't budge. We left the office with the promise of a bad online review and he chased us down with 2 extra keys saying he trusted us to return them.

We stayed here for 2 nights to be near center of Venice and San Marcos Square. It's perfect location right on the main canal, the water bus has several terminals right in front of the hotel. It's a 5 minute walk to San Marcos Square. The staff is courteous and professional. Room was nice. Water flow in shower was not the best but plenty of hot water. Overall I recommend this hotel for price and location. Breakfast included was okay, not a big selection of food but okay. Breakfast room was a little small for the number of guests..sometimes not easy to find an empty table.

Centrally located in Venice, right on the Grand Canal. Convenient location the the Doges Palace and several other nearby must see venues.

Hotel was located along the lagoon in Venice walkway... very scenic. Lots of restaurants and convenient location. Room was small but contained all we needed in excellent order. Breakfast was included and fine. Hotel Paganelli is not a fancy hotel but it worked well for us.

Excellent location, friendly staff, very clean, rooms nicely decorated but a little too small. I'll recommend this hotel to my friends.

My wife and I stayed in the deluxe room of the hotel. It was a large spacious room with a pull out couch, a beautiful big bathroom with a view of one of the side streets opposite direction of the water. The room has two windows that face the water and a Main Street in San Marco. There is no entrance to the hotel directly on the water. Yet, it is minutes away from the San Marco Plaza. Hotel staff was friendly, it was a great stay overall.

Great views and location. We were upgraded upon arrival.

The staff at Paganelli are kind and professional. One feels very welcome and in the hands of old school professionals.
