Very impressive hotel. Rather old fashioned which was lovely. Good location about 15 mins into town. Our room was the largest we have ever stayed in, with windows opening onto a terrace and the lawn area. Views were unbelievable and our room was well fitted. My husband used the indoor pool whilst I sat outside with a glass of wine and a book. Great way to relax after 5 hours driving. Breakfasts were good with hot food as well, ask for a omelette, they were very good. We ate dinner in the restaurant which is actually a separate concern apparently. We didn't think there was a good choice, fish or lamb on the night we visited. Food is very as you would expect from a five star hotel and very expensive. We paid 88 euros for two main courses and a shared cheese course, plus 3 glasses of wine. Didn't eat there our second night. But did have room service which we thought better, salads and pasta very well presented as well. Only complaints were a coffee machine that didn't work, wasn't changed until second night, then we had one that leaked. Also more importantly we had no safe, which was in the details. Reception came and looked said she didn't know why we didn't have one but could put our valuables in the office safe. Not ideal. Parking is very good, hotel has its own private free car park. Would we stay again yes we would. The views are greats is the atmosphere.
This is a really charming place. You have a sense of being a house guest in a grand told house rather than staying in a hotel. The grounds are beautiful with lovely views of the Pyrenees. The restaurant was excellent but very pricey. Defnitely recommend this property for a romanic break.
This hotel was surrounded by a beautiful country landscape. The staff were all incredibly friendly. The room assigned to me did have a strong smell of cigarette, but when The staff moved me very quickly to a beautiful room that was much better. The restaurant was also very nice and the food was fantastic. I will definitely come back to this hotel.
We had a reservation at this hotel confirmed in February 2017; little more than 24 hours before we were due to arrive, the hotel told booking.com that they could not, after all, accommodate us for the third night of our stay. It was not stated why this was the case, nor why the hotel left it so late to tell anyone that they were not going to honour a reservation in place for over six months. That the hotel team seems to have thought we might be happy to stay the first two nights with them and move somewhere else for the third is beyond me. Needless to say, we have cancelled altogether (at no charge, of course) and reserved an alternative - which, at this very late stage, we were lucky to find.
Only one night but we were given the best room, the most incredible service and the most romantic stay. We made good use of the spa facilities and the breakfast buffet was to die for. Service was exceptionally.We'll be back ... thank you xxx
Charming building with a lovely garden but rooms need an urgent update. People at the reception and the restaurant are friendly but their english was not great so it was difficult to communicate. The place dint look clean for us, specially the carpet at the room, full of stains and marks. Not the standard that you are expecting for a five stars...
A nice chateau, featuring pleasant gardens in a quiet setting. Good restaurant for lunch and dinner, but not adequate for breakfast, where quality of ingredients and variery of food is far from a 5-star standard. Also, hotel services are always understaffed, from waiting at the table to serving a drink on the terrace. Certainly, not a 5-star establishment, and therefore a not meeting expectations.
We arrived there expecting a charming place, and the building is charming, the staff member at the reception helped with luggage and took us to the room and that was 5* service. Once in our room, which was a family room, the views were really nice but the room needs updating. We do like the charm of the past but there is a difference between old and 'tired' and period furniture (which we like) but well maintained. Our kids were put in a roll-up sofa bed which was not very comfortable, the carpet looked quite 'used' and it was not up to what one would expect from a 5* property. We stayed in the old part of the property and perhaps the newer rooms look more refreshened but we did not experience those. We had dinner and the staff member that tended our table was extremely helpful and professional and was always willing to make us happy and have a nice meal and experience. The food was good, what you would expect from a 5 * hotel. Dinning was a good experience. We decided to go to the Spa before dinner and it was the most dissapointing spa we have ever experienced. There was no staff to welcome us there and give us towels , explain a little bit . . . There were towels thrown everywhere from previous guests that had been there, it was untidy, and we did not feel relaxed. The jacuzzi did not work and the pool was not maintained and it was dirty. I could not allow my kids to go in it , we felt it was unsafe due to healthy reasons. the quality of the water was not acceptable. My husband told reception the jacuzzi was not working and he was told they knew from the day before but could not get a technician until Monday (it was Saturday evening). We would expect a 5 * property anywhere in the world to have an in-house technician or maintenance staff member. All in all we were disappointed, specially with the room and the spa.
Rang to cancel booking a week in advance and hotel was unable to take instruction from me and also Hotel booking agent. I could hear the training being done in the back ground and clearly it was a very inexperienced operator which has cost me the total cost.
Overall very disappointed by the experience for dinner, poor breakfast, noise during all the night from one of pipes of the heater room 28 despite a good location and one great waiter trying to making up. But it was too late the experience was ruined anyway.
