After a flight delay and lay over, this was a great place to pass the time until the next day. Very warm service, great room service (hamburger au foie gras!), buffet breakfast (gluten-free options), and large confortable and well-equipped room. Unfortunately didn't have time to enjoy the pool/spa.
Great hotel and really good location for walking into the town. The rooms were lovely and big, clean and had everything that we needed. The only criticism was that there was a large group of us and the bar staff weren't quite able to cope with the number of us due to not enough staff. Checking in had been sorted by the group, and was incredibly easy.
Justifies its 5 * rating. Staff (plentiful) were superbly attentive, helpful and in great spirits. Our suite was superb - cannot be faulted for comfort, quiet or detail. Hotel's public areas were similarly immaculate. The spa facilities, and massages, were very good indeed and not busy (partly no doubt because of time of year). Breakfast choice good, and well presented. A ten minute walk into the heart of the town. Our only criticism (slight) was the value aspect of the lunch - €17 for a tiny crab salad. They could do better than that. But we would not consider staying anywhere else when we return to Pau.
I really enjoyed the last night of my vacation in Pau because of this hotel. It was new year's day and everything was closed. Fortunately the hotel has a nice bar and 2 restaurants. The staff is professional and attentive. The hotel is great if you're flying out of the Pau Pyrénées (PUF) airport which is about 20 minutes away. Perfect way to end a wonderful vacation!
Not a hotel I would personally have chosen myself but colleagues had already booked ahead. The hotel is a 20 minute €30 ride from the airport and on the edge of a park area and just a couple of minutes walk into the lovely town of Pau. Rooms were very spacious with a large (46") LCD TV, nespresso coffee machines and average speed wifi. Bathroom was spotless with walk in rain shower and a separate large bath. Breakfast was a large continental buffet with a small a la carte menu for hot choices of omelettes and other egg dishes. Plenty to choose from. The bar area is quite small and does get busy at times, the prices are quite steep but you wouldn't expect any less from a 5 star hotel. Dinner in the restaurant is by reservation only. Even when we were the only guests we were asked if we had booked in advance. We had - then remained the only table until the end of the night. Food was fantastic though. Never had the opportunity to use the pool or spa area due to work schedule.
Exceptional modern hotel opposite Beaumont Parc approximately 20 mins walk from central Pau. Very friendly and helpful staff. Spacious room beautifully decorated. Very good breakfast. Eggs cooked to order. Restaurant also very good
Lots of things about this hotel were absolutely fabulous. The room with park view (we got a free upgrade upon arrival!) was lovely - spacious, great views, lovely shower, great air-con, huge and very comfy bed! The service from the main reception desk was exceptional and we were rather taken aback to have our room cleaned twice a day! Lots of nice little extra touches, like delicious chocolates on our pillows in the evening, free still and sparkling water, nice robes/ slippers and gorgeous Carita toiletries. The food at breakfast and in the brasserie restaurant was good, although the service was a bit patchy. Nothing terrible just not as good as you might expect for such a smart and expensive hotel. The spa was a bit disappointing - it felt a bit oppressive and the jacuzzi was broken during our stay. Quality of treatments was ok but not worth the price charged. The hotel is easy to find, with free parking. The town city is a short, pretty walk from the hotel and a lovely place to visit.
My wife and I stayed four nights in the Hotel Parc Beaumont in mid/late July 2016. Pau is a superb town wonderfully laid-out from the Parc Beaumont, through the sensational Boulevard des Pyrenees to the historic Chateau/Castle. The town contains good restaurants, interesting shops and places of interest. It is special to have a coffee on the Boulevard des Pyrenees with clear views (on a clear day) to the chain of the Pyrenees, in which the Pic Midi d'Ossau stands proud. Pau is well-placed with numerous routes to various Pyrenean valleys and peaks. The villages around Pau are well worth visiting. Some are historically significant, with medieval centres. The Basque coast is near. Pau also boasts the oldest golf course in Continental Europe, founded by the British; it can be reached by a landscaped scenic walk from the Chateau with, along the way, views of the Gave (River) de Pau with its rapids and white-water. The surrounding wine areas of Madiran (red wines) to the north-east and Jurancon (white wines) to the south-west also add to the ambience. Pau therefore justifies a visit for any length of time. To combine a visit to Pau with a base in a special hotel is the icing on the cake. The Hotel Parc Beaumont is indeed special. It overlooks the attractive Parc Beaumont itself, and is very near the east end of the Boulevard des Pyrenees, so the centre of Pau is near. The hotel has a huge number of plus factors, including the friendly, positive and attentive staff. Our room was magnificent, with its own south-facing balcony and views of the Pyrenees. It was spacious, comfortable and relaxing. The restaurant is high-class, so we ate there on all four nights, to our very great satisfaction. Breakfasts were also special. We (particularly my wife) used the largish swimming pool and spa for a total of several hours; it is another plus factor for the hotel. The two of us were celebrating a special wedding anniversary. We made the right decision to celebrate it in Pau and the Hotel Parc Beaumont. We will visit again.
This is an easy to locate hotel with good parking. Perfect for an overnight. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. The room looked beautiful with good quality furniture and fittings - lovely art deco style. Good breakfast. However, we were extremely uncomfortable on the hard bed and had back ache the following day - both of us, which was a pity when it is clear a lot of trouble has been taken to make this a sophisticated and high quality hotel.
Very modern hotel keeping all Sofitel standards . Indoor Swimming pool and small spa were a delight after lots of long walks exploring the city center. We were upgraded to a park view room which has a good sized balcony with 2 chairs and a table for outside dining if you wish. Bathroom has a full size bath and shower room. Beautiful bathroom products were supplied including various types of bath gel and body lotions. Separate toilet room. Coffee machine pods and mineral waters supplied free of charge. My only dislike was that there were no actual cups for tea only small coffee mugs and disposable cardboard containers. The black tea was not replenished after the first night and fresh milk asked for was initially charged to our room. On check out this was removed and apology given. Television is quite large and receives a great reception. We received a lovely gift of petit fois on arrival along with a pre dinner drink voucher which was used to try the local wines. Lunch in the cafe was light, both chose fresh salads. There is the opportunity to be seated outside for lunch and dinner but remember the French still allow smoking at the tables outside. Staff encountered throughout our stay were very professional and very friendly. On the map this appears a long way from the centre of town but we found the walk easy and good after lots of eating out.
