We researched Pau hotels before visit for several days in October, and this was the choice. Very pleased with the whole experience, and only a few enjoyable blocks walk from the Old Town centre. Our room was actually the best of the hotel, so that put us in a great mood. We enjoyed the restaurant, bar, and even the basement swimming pool (few guests seem to find the basement amenities). Parking was free, although busy during workdays. Pau was a great experience for us; we've travelled extensively in France but this is now our favorite city, and will be back again.
This is a beautiful hotel conveniently located across from a beautiful park in Pau. The staff were very courteous and efficient. The room was very well appointed. Very comfortable bed and linens. Very clean and chic bathroom with thirsty towels and bath amenities. Highly recommended jewel!
Super hotel, staff on reception were brilliant and very helpful. We enjoyed the spa and pool facilities which were small but clean and very well presented. Unfortunately one member of staff at the Brasserie was very rude and we seemed to be an inconvenience to him all night. We would definitely stay here again but would give the Brasserie a wide berth!
I've reviewed the brasserie separately. Putting that aside, the rest of the hotel is great. we had a park view room with a little balcony. The room was pleasant, well air conditioned and comfortable. The hotel has a pool and spa area which we enjoyed, and a rather small gym with just a few machines but very nice views. There's plenty of parking and it's an easy and pleasant walk to the old town. The staff on reception couldn't have been more helpful.
We were driving to Spain from our home in Provence and needed a stop-over. We like to use Sofitel when we can and this small hotel is gem. The rooms are spacious and modern with superb views. Ours was overlooking the Parc and the historic race track. The restaurant is incredibly good too, with excellent balanced choices and a very extensive and interesting wine list. All in all I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.
From the moment we arrived, the customer service was exemplary. Staff were very pleasant and courteous and nothing was too much trouble for them. The facilities were immaculate. The bedroom was very well-appointed and was extremely comfortable. The room was checked and toiletries, linen and refreshments replenished as necessary each time. The meals in the brasserie were excellent and staff were very attentive whilst leaving you time to enjoy your meal and drink. Breakfast in the main restaurant provided a good range of options and all options were regularly replenished. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we would certainly go back to that hotel again if we visit Pau in the future.
It is about 10 minutes walking distance to the city centre. The hotel is very nice, you can open the windows - actually there is a blacony in front - A/C works and traffic noises are acceptable. The breakfast is good but for the other meals the in house restaurant is way too expensive.
The restaurant serves the best food i have had i France for a long time Great pool.Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was not ready on arrival (we were early) room was straight away up graded.Great location in a park in the town.
The hotel and rooms present well and are nicely appointed. Bar and restaurant were good: service, food quality and general vibe. Main drawback was in the room: The bed was extra firm and lacked linens to my liking. There was a very thin mattress cover which didn't provide a sufficient barrier between myself and what felt like a pretty low quality mattress. I was also in a king size bed that was made by combining two twins together. Again the thin mattress cover made it very apparent where the seam was. The other rub I had was the wi-Fi strength was insufficient in my room (309). The only way I could hold the signal was to walk to the door with my mobile phone or iPad. I also found the signal poor in parts of the the main lobby too. My take is they need to do some work on Wi-fi system and bring it into 2017. Admittedly these are two nit picky items but they didn't meet my expectations at this price point. Big picture it's nice property in a good location with a friendly and accommodating staff. I probably wouldn't stay there on my dime though.
Donot be put off by the extremely modern, almost sci-fi, photos: the hotel looks better in real life, andinside it is very comfortable. Restaurant a bit pricey, but we had a bar meal which was very satisfactory. Location is quite scenic, a little on the edge of hte town but nothing tobe concerned about. ANd Pau itself is an interesting place with a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. We were glad we went.
