This property is a joke.. the main reception area is beautiful - barely anyone speaks english though - the beach, the pool are all great - the golf facility and food options are okay.. the reception check in took forever - was rough and worse of it all - since no one spoke english, no one could help us or get us umbrellas or help with the rooms while it was raining . the food options were very limited for vegetarians and worse of it all, the rooms was OLD and dates.. really pathetic - the rest room was bad - the beds were shaking - the tiles were cracked with mold by the sink. wont recommend this place
I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in this area of Costa Rica (Garabito). From the pictures, I thought the property was going to be small, but I was wrong! The property is huge, and although there are free shuttles around the resort, it is best to rent a golf cart so you can be on your own time. The golf cart rentals are on the property and you can rent a golf cart for under $60 a day. The golf cart was key to making our stay even more fun! The staff was pretty accommodating, sometimes things are unclear, but everyone is friendly and helpful. The food options are good, and with a short drive you can get some great seafood outside the resort. Jaco is a short drive away and worth going out there for a night. The resort is quiet and things shut down a bit early at night, so if you are looking to "turn up" this resort is not the place (I was ok with that). Conveniently, there is also an ice cream shop and a small market on the property as well which is very convenient. I believe all of the rooms have refrigerators as well. Overall, great place to stay whether you are traveling alone, with friends or with family. There is something for everyone! Great pools, great bars and access to great beaches (especially Playa Blanca).

The property grounds @ beach were lovely the rooms however were 2 star at best We had originally rented a poolside apartment but it was on such bad condition we didn’t want to sleep there. The reservation staff were extremely accommodating & got us a room with a decent king bed far from the pool but we were ok putting up with that for 2 or our 5 nite stay with the idea we would b able to upgrade to a different area. As it turned out that was not an option & we decided to find other accommodations on day 3. orbitz was amazing support & finally got us a full refund for the 2 nites we didn’t use!!! Thank you Orbitz!!
The only thing good about the property is the location on the beach and close to many excursions other then that the rooms are outdated and the staff is not always attentive very rude and they lie to your face about simple things the restaurants are ok the 1 by the pool service was always slow or the food was cold you have to take a shuttle to get around the property which never runs on time a lot families and elders no entertainment drinks are ok but it’s cheap liquor some bartenders make great drinks others hey you’ll find out and see the restaurant at playa Blanca was the best the only place I recommend spending most of the day overall I will come back to Costa Rica just not this property

Worst customer service ever!! Please do yourself a favor and dont go there! Wi fi doesn't work, food is not good plus it takes up to half an hour to get an order or something simple and buffet is not good. They make many mistakes and don't do anything about it. They barely speak English, it's very hard to communicate. They don't have activities as they tell you when you arrive. They dont respect their own rules as the adult pool have kids and you find people smoking. The bartenders are not the best, some of them are on training and do not seem very qualified to prepare your drinks. They don't give you conditioner for your hair which all hotels do. They don't have hot water which is very annoying. Playa Mantas is nothing out of the ordinary. The only good thing about Punta Leona is Playa Blanca...besides that honestly there is nothing good at that place.
Overall was ok, however didn't like: 1. No flexibility in parking spaces to be closer to the mantas beach 2. Lot of access clearance even to go to semipublic areas before check-in 3. Maybe not that important but, Hash browns @ breakfast were not fresh
Loved this place and Will be back. There are monkeys all over, food is great, activities daily at no charge and free shuttles. This was a hidden gem. It is quiet and great for families and couples. Did not see the party areas so if looking for that, you May not find it. Highly recommend
Nice place but a little drive from the main road so takes a while to get anywhere. Too far from the beach to walk. Have to drive or take the shuttle bus.
Room could be little fancier i think for the price , but the beach and facilities over there are awesome. Playa blanca is the best
