We were blown away at this resort. Beautiful private Beach. I usually spend all my time at the beach however the pool is so amazing & we had a cabana all week. They have a casino, mall, PLENTY of places to eat, spa,gym with outdoor yoga, gift shops, and on beach access to any water sort you would want. Entertainment e erynight at the outdoor theater. You have a personal staff members phone number to text & call for anything. So afforadable. We stayed 7 days & never left the resort because it had all we could ever want. Never waited for anything. Friendly staff & the best vacation we have ever had. We will be back. PS: First out of country resort that The A/C was COLD!! Love it. Highly recommended it to anyone.

The hotel was nice, in my experience the worst was the cleaning of my room.

Overall the resort is pretty, food is good, the staff is very helpful and considerate. I've been to quite a few 5star resorts in the caribbean, so in comparison, we found this resort to be TOO large. Its at least a 10-15 min walk from the room to the beach. There are closer rooms, in the Level section, which are more costly and the staff is constantly trying to upsell you coming back and being in the more "exclusive" section. There are trolley's to get you to and from the dining area or beach, but the Level people have little go-cart drivers to pick them up. The trolleys and go-carts and service vehicles all drive down the same path that everyone walks on, so you are constantly dodging automobiles. Even our kids found it annoying that there were constant traffic jams in our walking space and that the Level people would zoom by , while the rest of us waited 10 min for a trolley. The pool: nice and a beautiful beach. It's literally a 5 min walk to get around the pool, no bridge from one side to the other, so if you want a drink (as it is all inclusive) you have to make a long trek to get to the ONE bar that is at the pool. There are no servers walking around to take orders, you are totally on your own. There is food close by the pool, which is nice, but nothing snack like that you can take back to the pool or just grab near the pool. Overall, we felt we were under constant attack of "buy this" from not only staff, but Orbiz and all travel companies, which was annoying

Took forever to check-in and took forever to check out. Room cleaned every other day. Besides that ok.

First three days of our staying in the room we had pretty big puddle of water collecting right in front of the toilet so we had to be very careful. Then we tried to stop the leak with bath towel. Then when I responded to the welcome email from the resort manager I mentioned the leak. Then three maintenance guys showed up and fixed the leak. I think it was leaking for a while because even marble floor tiles started to have discoloration on some spots. Looks like previous tenants did not bother to report the leak but I do not know why housekeeping ladies which were cleaning this room almost every day did not report the leak; after that everything was pretty normal and nice. Also sink and shower faucets have hot/cold valves installed opposite: when you need hot water you need to turn to blue dot and the opposite. I think that a little bit unsafe especially when you need cold water and hot goes instead.

It took the hotel close to hours to check us in. We order family suite and got room with 2 twin beds for 4 people and baby,when we got to the room it was already occupied we got in to different room at 8:00PM commute inside the hotel with these train is annoying and takes time and promise to compensate us and did nothing. Alonzo was always there for us-He is a tremendous asset to Melia. We never would have enjoyed our trip if it were not for him.

I would like to add videos of the rooms that I was in. The discrepancies are as follows: Room1 #0502 Dresser drawers didn't open completely, refrigerator cover door was off the hinges, stains on the wall & 5 beds with no living room for 2 people. Room2 #3806 Had a leak by the bathroom doorway which would caused puddles on the floor, stain on the walls from the leak, ceiling falling apart, mold on the bathroom ceiling, the wooden panel which framed the mirror was broken to which inculd stuck my fingers through. Room3 #1424 While I was attempting to use the bathroom I witnessed a roach crawling around the bidet toile.

Room was clean, but too many mosquitos. The balcony could not be used because of them. Also, the bathroom supplies were missing and had to ask multiple times for shampoo and towels. Restaurants were clean and food was decent. Management has to find a solution for rainy days as the entire resort was flooded.

Very bad service. Hotel staff not friendly at all. Maybe 1 out of 10 would smile at us. TV remotes would not work, called in the main desk twice, noone did not show up, used my batteries from camera. Hair blower did nit work. Toilet would not flash properly. 5 restaurants but 3 were closed in rotation. Check inn took 2+ hours, check out 10 min but bus to airport was late by 1:30 and almost were late to flight. Overall, NOT happy.

The property itself is beautiful and the beach is really nice to look at and take pictures, not to swim. We stayed there 5 days and the beach was filled with algae and trash (ex: plastic bottles, plastic ware, plastic bags) every single day. It was a shame since we were looking forward to the Caribbean beach experience. The restaurants were another huge disappointment. When we booked it, we were expecting to take advantage of all 13 restaurants onsite so we would not get bored with the food. Well, that's not how it works. From the 13 restaurants, 2 are not included in the "all-inclusive" Melia Caribe Tropical option ( you have to pay an additional fee). The Marketplace and Agora have the same food, just located in different areas of the property and opened at different times. The Agora is the only option for breakfast and lunch, and it had the same food options during the 5 days we spent there. The food was bland and tasteless (not even the fruits were sweet). The dinner options were even more pathetic. You would think you could choose from all the other restaurants for dinner, but again that was not the case... they only open 4 at a time - one being the Marketplace, with the same food options as lunch. The salad bar on the 3 restaurants we were able to try (Italian, Dominican and American cuisines) had the same options available during lunch (again, more of the same food). We also had one day without hot water to shower and the sheets/towels are rough. Very disappointing.

This was my first experience to an all inclusive resort. I was amazed by the cleanliness from reception through the grounds and to the beach and pool. The staff is very helpful, courteous and several spoke English while others at leased tried. I enjoyed practicing my Spanish and there was always someone willing to listen. The restaurants prepare and have presentation of the meals they serve. That I did not expect and a good selection of food. If I had another experience to compare to I would probably give this 5 stars but for me it would be hard to beat.

This hotel is awesome if ur single!!!! It's so single friendly it's ridiculous. Even the dr in the facility doesn't care for kids, but he will sure charge u after he tells u that! After the St charged us $180 he told us he doesn't care for kids go to the emergency room. When I spoke to hotel mgr he just yessed me to death. Even the babysitter aren't free! I had to pay them $15 a hour because I wanted to leave the resort for a excursion. And the one day we went to the adult side the food was better drinks were better EVERYTHING!!! I'll be sure to go there without my children

Upgraded to level! It's adults only and closer to beach. Amazing! Would totally recommend and would visit again!

The staffs were not nice. Specially the front desk people.

The water at the beach had too much seaweed and no waves. The pool was very dirty. Our room did not get cold enough and we had a leak in the bathroom ceiling so the floor was constantly wet. The worst part is they over booked and at check in they had no rooms for us. They had to ship us to another resort for 2 days and brought us back on day 3. Wich we we're not happy to have to pack up and move and waste half our day doing it!

We booked a 6 day vacation and when we got there tgey were overbooked so they shipped us to another resort for the night and promised us to be in our original room the next day but that didn't happen we got the runaround until 4pm so 2 out of six days were ruined they tried to make up for it by giving 3 free nights but I wouldn't ever go back we met allot of people who had the same problem. Wouldn't recommend this resort

Overall the resort is pretty, food is good, the staff is very helpful and considerate. I've been to quite a few 5star resorts in the caribbean, so in comparison, we found this resort to be TOO large. water leak in the bathroom
