We stayed at the Raintree Club Regina Puerto Vallarta in early May. Although we visited a couple of the newer, fancier resorts coming onto the market, our preference was the Raintree. Unless you desire to spend a good portion of your day looking at other resorts when visiting PV, don't waste your time or money on their promises of tours, etc. We enjoyed snorkeling right there at the beach (put on sunscreen), the pools are beautiful, & the Inizios restaurant was delicious. Also, try Victor's just a few blocks down the street located on the pier. Wonderful food and atmosphere.
We stayed at Raintree Club Regina Puerto Vallarta in Feb. 2017. It's an older resort affiliated to the Westin next door but everything has been well maintained and renovated. It's on a beautiful ocean front in a protected cove which makes swimming good most days. And you can walk along the beach for quite a distance. The pools are beautiful oases. Staff listen to requests and do everything they can to accommodate them. Rooms have two bathrooms - nice large fridge and good stove top burners. Jacuzzi on balcony is a plus. - We would like to commend Javier and Manuel on the activity desk and the front desk staff were very helpful as well. We appreciated the cleanliness of our room, pool and public washrooms by the pool. We also delighted in the fact that the staff seemed happy – even the maintenance man leaving after his shift was singing a tune. We liked the short 5 minute walk to get to the marina which is enchanting with shops and restaurants. There's an oxxo close by for beer or liquor etc. It's a 20-30 minute walk to a grocery store. You can catch buses or cabs on the road just outside of the resort. We loved everything about the place except the hefty fee charged. No one explained why a fee is charged and most other resorts don’t have any charge except taxes.
We very much enjoyed our room or unit. It was comfortable, clean and provided the necessities. It's beach and pool was enjoyable. We would have liked another restaurant and lunch option, rather than just the one offered. Dinner at their restaurant was like a roller coaster. One meal good and another not so much. The room service breakfast brought cold eggs and over cooked chicken. Pool towels were not available in the evening. For these reasons we cannot give a better rating. We did enjoy the walk distance to the marina and our visits to town. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain
We have been coming to Club Regina for 15 years as owners in the Raintree Vacation Club. We were impressed by the people and the grounds from the first time we walked onto the property, that was the day we bought our timeshare. They have continuously upgraded, remodeled the units and we enjoy them immensely. I travel all over the country on business and I frequently stay at Hyatts, Sheratons, etc. while those properties are nice they do not have character. The rooms at Club Regina have character, they are a blend of modern and old Mexico in their architecture and appointments. If you want a cookie cutter hotel room then you may not appreciate this resort or many others in P.V! Our visit started with Luis getting our luggage from the taxi and Rosa checking us in, both welcoming us home. The next day the front manager Cesar made it a point say hello, he does a great job as front desk manager, as well as Daniel at the bell desk. We spent the day at the pool and food and beverages were excellent as always. This is our second trip down to Club Regina and P.V. this year. This trip we were down in P.V. celebrating our anniversary and had friends join us. When got back to the room Fabiola, concierge manager, had arranged for chocolate dipped strawberries to be delivered to our room. The general manager Alberto had added a few special touches as well for our anniversary. All completely unexpected but very much appreciated! This not the first time that has happened, they go out of their way to make each visit better than the previous visit. I think achieved it. When you get ready to into town you maybe greeted by Juan, Lalo, Luis or Daniel to see if you need a taxi into town and when you return back to the resort they are there to greet the taxi , open your door and greet you with a heartfelt " welcome home", a phrase they truly believe in !!! If want a quiet, clean, well run resort to travel to as a vacation destination I would wholeheartedly recommend Club Regina P.V. !!
Overall the place was really nice. Had a problem with the room we should have reported the first day but once we did they were very accommodating. The Bell boys ALL were very nice and helpful but our maid refused to help with getting the sleeper bed pulled out (and I have a disability making it very difficult) so had to sleep on the couch without pulling it out! Get a massage out on the beach while you are here the price is right and the staff was awesome. The tour desk also hooked us up with same great tours so take advantage of their services. Really wish the restaurant would serve real authentic Mexican food but had to go elsewhere for that.
We have been members of Global Vacations for quite awhile now and this was by far the best resort we have stayed at. This was our first time in PV having stayed numerous times in Cancun and riviera maya. The airport was huge and had A/C. 10 min ride to club Regina tops. The city is big and has everything you need. Costco and Walmart close by. The marina is about a 15 min walk if you cut thru the apt bldgs. Lots of restaurants and stores. Flea market on Thursday during the day. Closes around dinner time. The resort pool is beautiful as well as the grounds. The beach is quite nice for relaxing having a drink and good book on hand. Swim up bar has great food. Happy hour 2 for 1, don't expect top shelf licquor. The mudslides were good with stoli vodka! We all loved the Chips and guacamole with pico. The breakfast buffet was nice and so were the dinners. We went there many times and were very pleased. Great staff and so convenient. We stayed in rooms 959,960 and 961 grand suite. 2 separate bedrooms and baths with living area, another bath with shower in the middle. The bathroom showers were not updated and need to be. The kitchen was updated which was nice. The view was gorgeous from the 9th floor. Nice convenience store near the lobby for needed items. We shared a cab to Walmart for the week and got just about all we needed. El jimador tequila was $6 compared to $20 we pay in Michigan. My husband was happy. We traveled with my brother and sister-in-law and are hoping to go back next year. Lots of people and goings on. Many vendors on the beach. We bought a lot from them. Very nice and hard working people. Beautiful jewelry! If you need anything all you have to do is ask. Sara was so sweet and friendly. Her smile made my day!!
This was my 1st time visiting Mexico. Club Regina helped me make this a pleasant stay. We definitely felt like we were at home. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I especially like the customer service of a guy named Tony that worked the front desk. He was very helpful not only on the job but off. We ran into him as we were looking to venture out on the bus for the first time. Tony showed us the bus stop and even found out when the bus would arrive. Then Tony gave us a good idea where we needed to get off the bus. And he did all this on his own time. He spoke very good English. I can't say enough about this young man that would do him justice. When I arrived to Club Regina the front desk had all of our information. I was using pesos for everything because I was in the process of buying a home .I will advise you just pay the initial fee's with cash. The first guy that was checking us in made us feel like we had to use a credit card. Tony saved the day explained everything and helped us check in with cash.Giving your credit card for room service to me is lazy, unless your not able to get around. Get out that room and enjoy this beautiful resort. (Fyi)if you do use cash just know you have to pay up when you check out if you use the room service. "Important " the desk directly behind the front desk is a welcome desk. Better known as timeshare trap. I did not partake in this because I have 2 time shares and don't want anymore. I told the lady who approached me I wanted nothing to do with them. She then told me I was to young for time share at 36 and still told me to come over to get a welcome package. I was given a map. Two free courtesy drink tickets to the bar. And some information on things to do while there a Puerto Vallarta. I never was or felt harrased about the timeshare at Club Regina at any time during my stay there. My room 1168/1169 was a 1 br city view, partially remodeled. One bathroom we used on the bedroom side 1168 was very nice. The bathroom on 1169 side was very old and I just couldn't get myself to use the shower in 1169. It was old and creepy looking. Since we had a remodeled bathroom in 1168 we just used that one. The rest of the room was excellent. The view was beautiful the Jacuzzi tub was on the balcony with a beautiful night view of the city's lights and boats. This made my stay so much better. Just going on the balcony and taking a second to take in all the beauty of Puerto Vallarta was wonderful. The maid we had was friendly and trust worthy. She did her job and did it well. Greeting us with a hola and big smile every time we saw her. Wish I knew her name to give her proper credit. She even made us a little cute cat out of a towel on our bed. The pool was very nice plenty of seats. Im not sure but I felt like it was a heated pool. Very warm with a swim up full service bar there to meet your needs. The beach is very nice with luxury cabana seating for free. In usa you would have to rent these out. Also they have a flag system attached to the cabanas so you can get beach side service like food purchase souvenirs like jewelry, wood cars, wood snakes that move. You put the green flag up if you want to just relax and be left alone. There are notes up from the resort advising vendors to leave you alone if the flag is up. Some listen some don't lol. But I didn't find it to be out of control irritating. Be advised there is restaurant with a all you can eat breakfast and dinner . Its not open for lunch . I believe it was 249 pesos. Which is not bad for thre quality of the bar food. There is a little store on the first floor we shopped at once. I found some things there to be over priced. I advise people unless you need something quick go to stores in town to save some pesos. The bar was very nice. Sometimes you might not see anyone there but it's open. Just have a seat and the bartender will appear out of thin air. ( Lol ) If you need access to a computer like I did there is a computer across from the front desk where the bell boys are. You can print things off of it and send it to the front desk free. I had to utilize this due to me vacationing while buying a home. If you need a cab the bell boys will call you one. Its 80 pesos to the marina terminal and airport. It's only 60 pesos to the marina where there are stores and restaurants to shop at. You can also go to walmart for 80 pesos, which is across the street from the marina terminal. Or 2 people can get on the bus for 15 pesos to get any where in town or downtown. Pick your poison know whats best for you. We choose to walk to the marina, catch a cab to the marina terminal and airport and catch the bus downtown. This helped us save money. All in all I rated club Regina 4 for very good. Can't give a excellent due to that very old creepy bathroom in 1169. I do plan to return and stay there maybe in December. Puerto Vallarta is definitely a second home. Thanks for reading my review. Club Regina love you all. All the way from the United States of America.
This was our first time staying at Club Regina, and overall we were very happy with our stay! As many other review suggest, the staff members at Club Regina were wonderfully helpful and attentive. The ocean view and pool areas were just gorgeous, and the food at Inizio was delicious! We loved having a room on the ocean side on the 12th floor, with a little kitchen and a jetted tub on the balcony. The railing on the balcony was a little loose, and I did not want to walk around barefoot in the room because my feet turned slightly red from the red tile, but oh well, we didn't spend much time in the room anyway! I would recommend staying here, and would be happy to visit again!
This was our 5th or 6th visit to Club Regina and we enjoyed the improved facilities. Our Suite had one of the upgraded bathrooms (one was not). The unit was very well equipped and wifi reception was high speed throughout our stay. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. We stayed on the 12th floor ocean side and the views were spectacular. Two minor issues. We found the person from promotions in the front lobby overly aggressive. The size of the television in the sitting was the smallest I have seen in a lodging facility for many years. Surely it would not cost CR much to upgrade to something much larger. Having said that we didn't go to PV to watch TV, but some people might want to watch more.
They are both very fun, cool, nice workers very chill and funny and overall very fun to be around on vacation, they are such great workers and they are very nice and kind not only to me and to other people, thanks Javier and Manuel, from Michael patrick burke
