We had a nice two night stay here after spending a few days in Yelapa. We wanted something simple in the historic district that would accommodate 4. After the rustic accommodations of Yelapa this was nice but may not be what you are used to in American hotels. There is a nice colorful courtyard. You pretty much have to sit in the courtyard to use the WiFi. It wouldn’t work in our room. The staff was friendly and there was always someone at the desk that spoke English. It’s near the malecon and, the river and art galleries so the location is fantastic for walking and exploring. Overall it was what I would expect from a hotel in this price range in PV. My only complaint is that our room was not as nice as the ones in the photos. -it had white walls, two full size beds, a nightstand and a desk. It didn’t have a sitting table as pictured and seemed smaller than the room in the picture.

It's a nicely decorated place and very close to the plaza and downtown. Nice hot showers, clean rooms and they have a terrace too. You can get some sun in the day or watch stars at night.

we only stayed one night but could have stayed longer. Hotel staff was helpful and pleasant. Very centrally located next to the border of old town and P V. No elevator but steps were wide and short so didn't wear you out going up and down. Located a couple of blocks from the malecon and beach..

The room was clean but the bathroom tile grout needed steaming. There was an opening in the wall between the bedroom and the bathroom shower. I let the water run about 10 minutes and never got any hot water so I gave up trying to shower. When we checked out, we were going to go to the corner where we had always been able to get a taxi before. The lady at the front desk kept insisting we had to wait there and she sent a girl to the corner to make sure there was a cab and the taxi backed up to the hotel. I asked the driver what the fair would be and he said 70 pesos (about 3.50 US) which is what we paid the previous day. The girl said no it will be $8.00 US and started talking to the driver in Spanish. During the trip, the driver said he had to take some money back to the hotel for them. What a rip off and due to that I would never go back there.

This is a quaint hotel with lots of charm and authentic Mexican art throughout its premises. The room (401) is simple and very clean and comfortable with a remote control ac plus ceiling fan. Huge windows facing the court yard and roof deck. The staff is very attentive and courteous. It is 2 blocks away from the church and beach and it surrounded by plenty of shops and eateries. I would definitely return. FYI, the street noise can become loud, so ear plugs are recommended. No elevator, but the scalloped steps make the walk up easy.

It is in a nice location. The bathroom so small that the sink was in the shower.

Hotel Catedral is a glimpse of the reasons we love Puerto Vallarta. Charming, accommodating, and full of friendly people. The staff are wonderful. Very helpful, skilled in the English language, and quick to smile. The hotel is a work of art. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. If your'e searching for a hotel in the heart of Puerto Vallarta, stop looking and start booking. There are none better than Hotel Catedral.

My room was very clean and quite quaint, however, it was on the street and very noisy, plus every night around 10PM a car alarm went off! The staff was very nice and helpful. To those of you with physical ailments or impairments: there is NO elevator, NO swimming pool, very few outlets in the room, NO hot water in bathroom faucet. In addition, only 2 channels speak English. The closed captioning only comes in Spanish - no other languages. It would have been nice to have a clock and a box of tissues in the room.

Perfect location. Very clean! The mattress was a bit hard but otherwise we enjoyed our stay! The complimentary glass of wine was a nice touch.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly and professionally greeted. We had been walking around a bit before we checked in and the iced hibiscus tea was the perfect touch. The entire hotel is immaculate and colorfully decorated. The availability of coffee and tea and biscuits from 7:00 am to 11:00 am was a nice touch and the coffee was great! We found everyone helpful and welcoming and would stay there again and refer our friends. It is a short walk to the boardwalk and very centrally located.

This was my second visit to the Hotel Catedral Vallarta. It is an extremely well-maintained, perfectly situated small botique hotel located near the Rio Cuale and Catedral Guadalupe in the downtown area of Puerto Vallarta. Surrounded by shops and restaurants, the hotel itself is an oasis of serenity. You can walk to the beach/boardwalk and Romantic Zone (more shops/restaurants) in about 10-12 minutes from the hotel. The amenities in the hotel are few but include interesting decor (Mexican art), comfortable beds, WI-FI, flat-screen cable TV, AC, in-room safe, and fresh coffee and cookies available each morning. The staff speaks some English and are very hospitable and welcoming. The only "issues" may be that there's no elevator in the hotel and there are a lot of steps to get to upper floors plus the fact that the only mirror in the room was in the bathroom. One other oddity: the washbasin in the bathroom is located INSIDE the shower. That was new to me. Overall, highly recommended. A great value.

You are in the hearth of Vallarta, during the day you are few minutes from the beaches, at night all the main atractions are incredible close! restaurants, night clubs, the beautiful historic center, you can walk everywhere, you feel safe in many ways, in case you had too many drinks don't need to drive, no need of taxis! the hotel is fantastic!

Being at Hotel Catedral was an enjoyable experience! This is the perfect place for anyone looking for a peaceful and friendly boutique style hotel to stay. The complimentary morning coffee sipped in the plant- filled , tiled patio was an experience itself. The room decoration was chic and unpretentious. Spotless and clean smelling.
