Hotel is decent, no activities going on premises, so we were bored. Only stayed one day at hotel, the rest we left the room to have a good time. Unhappy with the room, just not what was expected from photos on Orbitz. Called Orbitz twice, both times I was placed on hold for 30+ minutes. They said we would get a 25 hotel credit, never happened. Over all disappointed with hotel and Orbitz

Excellent hotel beautiful beach and pool very nice

The carts that drive people to far away rooms are loud and it's hard to sleep. They drove loud golf cars all night. Need fridge for my diabetic relatives and for kids that need food stored properly. Need microwave to heat food wet by all the rain. Too many cats. My relatives allergic.

For being a High end hotel brand, with high end prices, check in was horrible. The front desk staff was young, no problem w/ that. But no service training. No welcome, it was like going to DMV to get your Tag or License. Bad attitudes. Too many cards , cards for towels, for charging, for parking. Total I had to carry 5 cards. Then had to wear a bracelet that you could not take off, they put it on with pliers. They subcontract the parking and security. Again Bad Attitudes.... The room lacked attention to detail. It was dirty. Shower curtain had mold, dust bunnies all around the room. Furniture was Staind and beat up, Floor sticky paint was peeling off. Mattress hasn't been changed for a while lumpy and old. I have seen better attention to detail and cleanliness at a Motel 6. Not worth the price

Beautiful place, the hotel es very nice, we had a great time, but the service is not that good, the check in takes forever, only one person attending a multitude. Restaurants are not so great, the food is average, and the lunch restaurant has a very limited menu and the staff is not very pleasing. The swimming pool is nice but it needs maintenance, it is not in good shape. The services are too expensive.

When we checked in it was an one hour check in process. The resort had 2 people to check in. I was HOT and upset because we were outside during the check in process. Next they gave coupon books (500 resort credit ) Orbitz told me that I could use the credit towards my food. Well when I got to hotel that was not true. The resort broke the 500 credit down.. example $200 towards room upgrade that they could not honor due to no availability., 4 - $25 coupons ($100) towards dinner that you could only one of them per night. Which meant I had credit towards my husband and I dinner for the night. Next 2-$30 ($60) coupons for spa ($60) that I wasn't interested in because I knew it was a catch. 4 - $10 ($40) drinks coupons that fine print read must spend $20 in order to use $10 credit. And the last amount was for a bed at the pool side. I was really diaappointed because I was told one thing and when I arrived at resort it was another. Then the room smelled like mildew. Not sure why but after the 1st stay I got use to the smell. (Lol) I had to ask for my room to be cleaned. Once they cleaned the room they never left clean wash clothes and towels. I had to make 2 phone calls for those. It really made me mad and couldn't get wait until my stay was over!!!! But the food was good and the staff was very kind and helpful. Just make sure before you book you ask lots of questions then confirm with the Resort too. Very misleading!

The palm trees were beautiful and food great! Check in a nightmare! Staff tells you nothing! So ask lots of questions!! Rooms dirty with bugs! Pool not so good! The concrete kills your feet to get to pool!! This hotel needs lots of upgrades!!

No microwaves, no refrigerator in rooms below the red level. No laundry rooms in the hotel, you have to take your dirty clothes back home to wash. Staff is friendly but that's it. I would never stay there again.

Hotel didn't offering any entertainment or shows. Food was overpriced,but tasty. Hard to reach hotel staff on phone. Pool was nice. Property could benefit from some updates/upgrades. Spa experience was amazing, worth the price.

Had an amazing time, great food, friendly staff and great beaches

We booked two rooms at the Gran Melia arriving on Monday, June 19. Check in was smooth, however there was no information given on any activities or events featured for the week...why? because they don't exist until Thursday. We were taken to our rooms which was really far from the main building. Room number 1 was fine except that there was no mini-bar or refrigerator and the temperature control did not work, it kept saying it was 78 degrees in the room. Room 2 was musty and smelled horrible. The mini bar was hot and completely empty. The remote control for the tv did not work and we had no drapes, just the liner hanging from the track. The coffee maker did not work and the toilet paper holder had no lid to hold it in place. There was mold up on the ceiling and the paint was chipping off. Maintenance brought in a dehumidifier which help with the humid musty air, which I had to empty every couple of hours. We should have moved from that environment because my brother got an upper respiratory infection the day of our departure. The activities did not begin until Thursday which looked like that is when the hotel gets busy for the weekend. All that tells me is that they only cater to weekenders.n Not even the main fountain did not get turned on until Thursday. Breakfast was included which was very nice however a specified gratuity should not be expected since all the servers do is serve coffee and take plates away. I will not return or recommend this hotel.

Gran Meliá is a great stay for family . The staff were excellent . Beautiful view of the beach

Wow, where to start.Hotel is poorly run. They ran out of coffee cups, shuttles rarely arrive when promised. I expected more although this was my second visit. If you want service as good as a Mexico resort, you won't find it here. The breakfast staff is friendly. The pools close before dark which is a joke. Our room was nice but not what we promised. We had no outdoor lights for 2 days in our building. The staff did not seem to care. Maybe it is just the culture.

Hotel was nice. We had to call almost everyday to request hand towels. They kept forgetting to leave then in the room. The food at the restaurant was not good, specially for the price. And the parking fee of almost $17 per night was not right.

1. Beautiful hotel. Staff is great. 2. Expansive hotel. I like that they half these little shuttles to take to your room and vice Versa 3. Beach is not best. There are underwater plants several feet in that made me feel uncomfortable that something was hiding in them. You'd have to go really far out in order to swim. 4. The pool is eautiful with nice bar. But concrete is textured and it hurt a little to walk on it. It may be so that there is grip when wet so no one falls, so I get it. 5. Wifi works well. But be careful if you are tmobile. Terrible service this far in. T mobile outsidenof resort works as usual. Another memeber of party had ATT and that seemed fine.

Our stay was very comfortable. Overall very nice hotel and the location is priceless. The hotel can use a bit of updating and a refresh. The staff was amazing and extremely helpful. Pool is great and the gym was awesome it had everything you would need to get a satisfying workout. We ate at Pasión which is the Puerto Rican restaurant on the hotel grounds. The beach views is something that I will always remember. The rooms could also use a refresh but they are very clean and a really good size. I will be back.

Will not recommend, long walk from and to the room, outdoors. The ac was noisy. Daily parking charge. Needs better customer service

Overall experience was very nice. Hotel staff was great, room was clean and comfortable. Resort was beautiful! I only have two minor complaints: there is only one jacuzzi and you have to pay daily to use it; could be the time of year, but I felt there was a lack of activities. Otherwise, I would visit here again.

The Gran Melia Golf Resort was an amazing experience, the next year I come back again.

high-end hotel brand, low-end facility, bad, bad!

i regret having booked at the gran melia

No microwaves, no refrigerator in rooms below the red level. No laundry rooms in the hotel, you have to take your dirty clothes back home to wash. Staff is friendly but that's it. I would never stay there again.
