The cottages were wonderful. We have stayed at ocean front properties before....but this raised that description to a whole new level. Literally, the ocean was at your door. When we took the steps down from our balcony, we stepped into the ocean. Although the room, actually a 1 BR apt, was clean and the kitchen had all the basics, it was the spectacular view that made our stay exceptional. We went at the end of May and had thunderstorms every afternoon. The storm-watching view from our wide balcony was thrilling.
Well... First, got to pick the keys few minutes always from the actual location. When I got to the "Que Chevere" designated hotel to pick-up the keys, there was no parking around. By the way it was very crowded. Second, when I got to the property... well the provided key was not the one for the room. The room is not a four stars room, but is ok to spend a night. Third, the view is phenomenal! Although for some of us we are probably looking for a great experience. Overall, I think the owners probably have to spend more time evaluating their customer service policies in order to provide that great experience I mentioned above. Ricon have multiple place to stay and they are very nice, as well.
This accommodation was exactly right for us. Not fancy but clean, well kept and functional. We had a kitchen/living room, separate bedroom and nice bath with shower. The best was the large veranda directly above the water. Great place for swimming in calm waters. Nice sand beach when tide was out. We enjoy hunting for sea glass and this was a treasure trove. Located about 5 minutes from the fun town of Rincon, but nevertheless, it was in a quiet location. Will definitely stay here on our return to Puerto Rico!
This was our fourth time staying at the LemonTree, but five years since our last visit. We love staying here with the large deck right on the ocean and a million dollar view. It's a bit out of town and that's a plus for us. The beach heading east offers miles of sand and coconut palms, great swimming beaches, and during the weekdays at least, almost complete solitude. The studio apartment we rented was very clean and comfortable. It had what we needed to fix breakfast and lunch. I highly recommend this the LemonTree.
I had read on Tripadvisor all the comments about insects and lizards in Lemon Tree cottages, so I was a bit apprehensive. But in our 5 days in the Mango unit we never saw a single bug or crawly critter. But what we did see were gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. The balconies on all these units have 180 degree panoramic views, so you'll see the sunrise in the morning and the sunset at night. Just beautiful. Lemon Tree is located in a quiet residential area. It's about 5 miles from the plaza in Rincon, and a few miles more to the famous beaches. I know that some people have written about parking "across the street", but don't worry about that. The cars are parked about 20 feet from the Lemon Tree gates, not a problem at all. Our kitchen was marginal, OK for simple cooking, but that was about it. The refrigerator was quite small. Plenty of dishes, glasses, silverware, and cookware. Nice bathroom, adequate hot water and water pressure in the shower. The sound of the ocean is pretty loud. It didn't bother me, but my husband couldn't sleep unless we closed all the windows in the bedroom. The wifi was OK. Rincon was a great town to visit, lots of touristic infrastructure. And Lemon Tree was a comfortable base for our time there.
Our visit at Lemon Tree wasn't a perfect one by all means. If you're looking to be on the ocean for a few days this could do it but a longer visit you may want to consider other places with less headaches. We were looking to relax at night after a busy day touring the island and had to deal with intermittent loss of internet, power & cable. Owner did offer the use of these amenities at her other hotel but it's not the same as we just wanted to relax in our own space. The owner should disclose about the intermittent loss of these amenities that occur on occasion when booking online as we did not experience these problems at other places we visited. Also when booking don't stay on the ground floor cottages because these units sit directly on the seawall. During our stay we had a week long storm and we had to change units because I could not sleep at night with the constant water crashing/banging against the seawall shaking the unit. Some people have complained about Cockroachs in units but this was not a big deal as we only came across one. The last few days of our stay I was kept up at night with a malfunctioning a/c making noise from another unit. I could just sense the owners frustration every time I called so I just dealt with it. Like I said, If we had stayed 2/3 days it probably would of been ok but do not plan for a longer stay than that. Would I stay at this place again ? No
We've been coming here for several years. The Lemon is tucked away in a residential neighborhood, right on the ocean, with spectacular sunrise and sunset views. If you want privacy and quiet, this is it. We recommend the Papaya one bedroom, which has a very large deck that is literally right on the seawall. They've recently updated the unit as well. It's an easy drive to Rincon's downtown and area beaches. Check in is now at the Lemon's sister property, the Que Chevere Hotel in downtown Rincon, and the owner is happy to make recommendations or offer assistance. Perfect low-key place to relax.
Stayed here for 2 nights, had a comfortable bed, Kitchen area and living room. Better that what I expected. Very casual and cozy. Parking is a little bit tricky, is around the street. I only slept there, there's so much to do in Rincon that I didn't spend so much time in the property.
We surprised our kids with Christmas in Rincon and the cottage was perfect. We spent Christmas morning boogie boarding in front, followed by a trip to a local waterfall. This spot is in a quiet area and perfect for families. I can see us returning with extended family and renting out the whole place. Having a kitchen to eat breakfast and pack snacks for the day was great, and it was fun to make dinner with local ingredients. Sitting on the balcony watching the water with a cup of coffee was a great way to start each day!
