Mostly full due to small budget demand, but management is very poor.TOILET FLUSH DID NOT WORK.SO USED ON TOP FLOOR,ROOM 302,LIGHT DID NOT WORK ON TOP FLOOR,FAN DID NOT WORK ON TOP FLOOR,GARBAGE FURNITURE IS STORED ON TOP FLOOR.MANAGEMENT IS TAKING 100% REVENUE HOME..

The rooms were clean but the place is old and needs updating, mattress creaked, window cornices falling down, threadbare furniture, mold on shower curtain, staff came around to replace towels and coffee but never made beds up, no hand towels, no breakfast, homeless people sleeping on benches around corner, trash was placed out front on sidewalk for pickup leaking and stinking, one of our rooms had an inoperative key card lock, they had to get manager to open their room each time. There are several restaurants nearby, food was excellent at we ate at. Bottom line; this place is vastly overpriced, for a few dollars more, stay at Hampton Inn or similar.

We visited San Juan for 3 nights before a cruise and stayed at a nearby hotel which we enjoyed very much. After disembarking our cruise we stayed one more night at Le Consulat. We were very disappointed with the hotel. One good thing they allowed was to store our luggage until check in. The bad thing is that the area wasn't locked or monitored. The lobby was very small and couldn't accommodate the people waiting to check in. Clerk was slow attending to people and not friendly. We were assigned a room 2 doors down from the miniscule lobby on the first floor. Room was dated and strangely decorated. A large poster of a Polish activist was the only picture in the room and a small print of Marilyn Monroe greeted us in the bathroom. The shower had no place to store shampoo, soap, etc. since it had been broken off and not replaced. The toilet paper holder had no paper and was quite a distance from the toilet, which had a broken seat that needed repair. The room was quite noisy since it faced the busy street and the crowded lobby was right down the hall. I paid a $3 "resort fee" on top of the bill and there were no amenities that I knew of for this fee-the pool did not look clean, no continental breakfast, newspaper, etc. that usually comes with a resort fee. I asked for ice since there wasn't a refrigerator in the room and the clerk pointed to what amounted to a storage closet near the stairs where it was kept in a cooler under a desk.

We flew to San Juan a day early before a cruise because we like to spend some time in Old San Juan. We had stayed at Le Consulat about 6 years prior and were impressed. The staff was still excellent but the hotel needs some repair, mostly minor - cheap and easy fixes that should not be put off. The biggest issue is that none of the safes in the hotel rooms work. I'd recommend staying here for a day or 2 but the safe issue could be a problem if staying longer - sometimes you don't want to carry everything of value you've brought on a trip.

Old hotel, our room was clean, cornices were detached from ceiling hanging down. Others in our party had a couch with stuffing coming out of the pillows. No breakfast available.

Too many issues at this hotel: - elevator didn't work - pool was closed - several outlets in the room didn't work - lock didn't work ( they had to unlock the door for me each time I entered) - hot water in shower was working only intermittently

Love the location and attention by staf. Will recomend all.

It was a pretty good stay. It says that you get cable but it only gives you like 6 cable channels. The pool is small other than that it is a nice place to stay.

The room was not clean (spills and a lot of dust bunnies on the floor). The couch was old (I wouldn't sit on it). The wi-fi barely worked and only if you found the one little spot (that changed frequently) in the room could you get a "poor" connection. I've stayed in places like this before - I would not even complain typically. However, listing this as a 3 star hotel and charging the prices they do, I just think was completely out-of-line.

I stood there with my four friends and my sister and the location is pretty good, just a block away from the beach. There were quite a few problems with our room. The door kept getting stuck because it rubbed against the floor, the couch was ripped, and there were no decorations at all. The staff was very helpful though. We were stuck in PR for hurricane sandy and they reduced the rate for us a few times. This is a good stay if you only need a place to sleep. Very affordable.

Desk clerks were very accomodating and informative. Doors on room dragged.Room was clean.

My boyfriend and I visited San Juan for spring break. The staff at this hotel are the absolute best, they were so friendly and very helpful. You get what you pay for with this hotel. It's perfect for those who don't need to spend a lot of time in the hotel. However if so, there is a tv and a quaint pool. There are plenty of shops in the area along with restaurants and other hotels and casinos. Great beach which was a two minute walk! It was a great place to stay. I would go back.

Le Consulat is at a great location! It's a block away from the Condado beach which is a plus! We did not rent a car and actually feel we didn't have to, great places to eat(walking distance), a walgreens around the block, casinos and liqour store nearby. Old San Juan is a15min bus ride away which was fantastic. As far as the hotel I was somewhat disappointed to be honest, but remembered some of the reviews I had read previously like "you get what you pay for" for example. You won't pay a lot so don't expect any fancy stuff. We stayed in a 1 bedroom on the 1st floor. Expect some humidity smell if the air isn't on before you get there but it is clean! Once we turned on the air we no longer smelled it during the entire stay. The AC was so good that the whole time we were there we kept it on low. The bed was comfortable and sheets were change everyday. New towels was also provided everyday. There were no dressers to place our belongings but we did have a closet. It was a small room but had a private patio with two beach chairs to enjoy the out door weather. The bathroom unfortunately was the complete down fall to the room. It wasn't completely separated from the rest of the room with actual walls, there was an accordion door/ wall which you can slide open/ close when necessary. Good thing was that you could keep it open to watch tv while sitting on the toilet. The pool was also small but clean and had chairs to sun bathe! The staff there was the plus to this hotel. They were nice and anything you ask for they make it available to please you. First hour there we asked for a new iron (the one we had, had some sticky stuff stuck on it) and with no question they gave us a new one. We also asked for additional hangers and with no problem also provided them. More towels to go to the beach we got it! The best personell there I must say is Pablo! He is awesome and was the only conciere there to greet us every time we saw him. Super informative and always willing to help, feel bad I didn't see him to give him my farewell when we checked out. Overall, yes it wasn't a five star hotel, but great location, good people, and good food nearby.

beds were fine, pull out couch very uncomfortable, quiet, good location to get to isla grande, would not recommend for more than 4 people

If you don't need all the frills this is a great little place to stay. Sheets are kind of thread bare and they are short on wash cloths But it is very clean, Great staff and the perfect location. I definatly will be returning!

friendly staff, great location. Small hotel ideal for short stays.

I would be very careful booking this room. The bathroom was very dirty and when I asked to be changed to another room they said they were booked. They didn't even offer to clean it. There was still hair and gum in the shower from a previous guest.

this budget hotel is centrally located with easy access to public transportation and to old san juan. Staff were great...especially Susie, Pablo and Tatianna. Had a patio which is a must and was wonderful. The room was basic the bed very comfortable. The bed skirt and one of the window drapes was dirty and I reported it and it was never fixed. Hotel located in great neighborhood.

THIS WAS A WONDERFUL HOMEY FEELING. THE AREA IS GREAT AND WALKING DISTANCE TO EVERYTHING WE WANTED AND NEEDED. WE (MY SON AND i) ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH.
