The only bad experience was at the restaurant. The bartender seat us and we waited for over 20 minutes for service. The was a waiter serving other people but she never came to us. If you expecting a good breakfast from the hotel just go around the corner to a cafeteria.

Was disappointed the pictures on the site did not compare to the actual hotel we had a room with a view to really nothing stepped in gum when we first entered the room

People are nice enough and neighbor is okay. Hotel needs updating...floors, and paint mainly. I wouldn't stay here again until they update the place.

We had 2 roaches in our room. The cleaning staff left our door unlocked all day because she lost keys with NO apologies or discount offered from hotel staff once we notified them and the staff admitted to leaving our room unlocked. We prepaid our room otherwise we would have checked out. Hotel desk staff extremely odd and unfriendly and not helpful at all. Shower needs major work. Beds very squeaky so if you had two beds and one person moved, the other woe up. Hotel restaurant was very good but very slow service. Beautiful view off the patio as it was right on the water. With that said, there were bugs everywhere, and we had to move inside to avoid bugs crawling all over wooden tables. Steps away from the beach.....if they had pest control, that would solve several issues. Not a friendly environment, but a cute place to stay. Again, rooms need updating and bathrooms need major updating and fixing. Broken tiles in our shower, almost no water pressure, and painted blue window in shower area. Very noisy next door as well. we were woken up very early in the morning from people next door shouting. They wouldn't even give us the remote to the A/C unit. We had to go to the office numerous times to have our A/C adjusted. What a pain.

Noisey no pool and restaurant is closed on a Tuesday

The hotel is located on a dead end street with 5 actual parking spots for the property (other than that you have to look for street parking). It is located next to the beach and the restaurant is also part of the property. Check in was fine, the room was NOT that comfortable as the AC unit is located in the top center of the room with bright numbers that show the temp. that shine throughout the night and will not go away even if you turn off the AC unit. So that was very annoying, also they open the restaurant which is located on property and since the property is small, you will hear all the noise coming from it. The last night we decided to order food from their menu (which is super expensive) and after 45 minutes of us waiting in the room as they told us they would bring it up, no food came so I had to go down. I ask for tge manager and there was NO manager on site (Alberto) never had a chance to speak to anyone as they had no supervision at this hotel. Anyway, the food had been sitting in the kitchen for a while and as I asked what happend, the staff tells me they got busy with a big table -_-. Then they brought me into thr kitchen and the food was there, as I look at the cook he was sweatin all over and he was not wearing a hat which is required for this line of work. I will be reporting this incident to the department of health as I never had the chance to speak to "Alberto" or any other manager for that matter. Stay away from this place.

We have stayed in Carolina on the beach in the past, so had expected a quaint boutique-style hotel from reading reviews. Instead, this is an older hotel in back of high-rise apartments that really does not have rooms with a beach view even though it is nearest the beach. Our room was on the corner facing the beach, but below was a noisy parking lot with cars coming and going. You could see the beach only when standing close to the window. The website advertises room service, but there is no room service, nor is there even a coffee maker in the room (two amenities that we find highly desirable for a one night stay after long travel day). There is no phone in the room, so if you have questions, you have to go to the office to ask! Here's what you can expect from this hotel: rooms are dated, with tiny bathrooms and showers. You may find this charming or seedy, depending on your expectations and perspective. There is a restaurant onsite that sits right on the water. They have great local cuisine and friendly service. Some of their menu items were not available, but we found the food good and atmosphere fun. It's an open air restaurant with a beachy feel. they advertise continental breakfast, which consists of very bitter strong coffee, dry cereals, apples, oranges, and bagels. We decided this hotel was okay for a one night stay over, though next time we will spring for a more upscale "real" boutique hotel, like the San Juan Water Beach Hotel which you can see from La Playita!

Nothing fancy, but is simple and clean. It has charm. We The staff are very friendly and accommodating. It was pouring rain so we couldn't spend time on the beach so we sat in the bar looking out at the Rain, waves wind and ocean. Felt like one of those rain days at the beach when I was a kid. It felt like we became part of a family there at the hotel with the staff and other guests. A nice feeling. One you wouldn't get at a larger hotel or a chain. The facility is out of the early sixties but is clean and well kept.

We had one of the 2 rooms with ocean view ,very spacious , bed was king size and comfortable , housekeeping was on great detail about cleanliness , friendly staff , restaurant was nice , must have the coco loco drink !! The hotel location was walking distance to restaurants , stores, beach . Definitely would stay again

Very friendly staff room was nice and clean and the atmosphere was great. The price was even better

This was the perfect vacation! The location on the little peninsula was amazing! It is within a 5 minutes walk on each side to two separate beaches. There are shops and restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk. The staff was very friendly and assisted us any time we had questions or needed taxis or service. The food was very good as well. We liked the hotel that we extended our stay. This was my second stay at this hotel and I plan to come back again. For the price, it was a good value.

Amazing staff, Ultimate view, great food and service. Room was comfy and clean.

very nice place, very clean, the hotel staff very nice & beach is right across street, recomended

It's not a 5 star by any means, but it's clean, staff is great, and the food at the bar / restaurant is fantastic.

The reason of our trip was the loss of a dear family member. We could not have selected a better place to stay. We were blessed with the most outstanding staff They make you feel liike you were at home. The hotel has a great restaurant and everthing is located in a very beautiful spot on the beach. The place is very clean. This is the place we will like to be in our next visit to PR. Previously we have stayed at four and five star resorts but no more. We will go to La Playita!

I stayed at Hotel La Playa in March for 4 nights and it was fantastic. The owner and staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The attached restaurant was a huge plus- I definitely bummed out for hours with a rum coconut and some appetizers and never felt rushed to get the check. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. Room maintenance always did a great job. The beach is literally RIGHT there, and if you need supplies like sunscreen, gasolina, etc, the nearby walgreens has got you covered. I suppose the 'amenities' are not as extensive as some nearby luxury resorts, but unless you're the type that needs a bidet in every room, it's more than fine. Amazing value, location, food, and vibe. I took the trip alone, and as a gay, androgynous female, not even once did I feel judged or uncomfortable in my own skin. I would book again in an instant - I wish I was there right now!

Hotel La Playa was the perfect choice for my spring break! The staff was unbelievably friendly, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the restaurant was excellent. You can't get any closer to the beach, which was absolutely beautiful. I would definitely stay here again.

This is more a guesthouse, small hotel. Location between the two beaches is perfect. This is not a high end, but a nice hotel with a nice staff. They have a happy hour which some of the local condo owners frequent. They do not have a beach, but are on the water. I would go back here, I would take the high end rooms that face the water if they were available.

Location. Location. Location!!! La Playa Hotel was perfectly situated steps away from the beach and is everything you need for a PR getaway. It's a simple little hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Unlike the larger hotels, you will not find many amenities here, but the location and ocean views make up for it. Away from all the noise, but close to all the entertainment and good eats on Isla Verde. We had a great time!
