Not a 5 star but your paying for the view. Excelllent service by staff and the meals were excellent Puertorican style.

The rooms are a bit old, but who goes to paradise to stay in a room? the beach is literally 50 ft from your hotel door or stair to you door. the staff clean the rooms daily, so i wouldn't leave anything of value around, not saying they steal, but why test it? its a beautiful spot located deep in the country around the mountains. heads up, its and hr+ ride from any airport there. the food is very good but super expensive. there are a few towns around, but the tourist attractions are 30+ min drive away. it was beautiful, they're coconuts in the palm trees! and very small 2 way street. not to mention, you can drive off a cliff side. beautiful place. would def go again, knowing the dangers and all!!!!! <3<3<3

For the price, it''s wonderful! Spectacular views, beautiful grounds. The food is very good. Our only complaint is that there is no WiFi anywhere except the lobby and restaurant area. I would definitely come back here again.

HOTEL HAD A GREAT AND ACCOMADATING STAFF. VERY INEXPENSIVE WITH POOL AND GREAT AMENITIES. RIGHT ON THE WATERS EDGE, IN FRONT OF YOUR DOOR. ALL ROOMS FACE THE BEACH. HAS ONLY 32 ROOMS SMALL IN SIZE BUT HUGE IN ACCOMADATIONS

We stayed here for one night and loved it! however would recommend to owners, replacement of shower curtains and curtains inside. doing some upgrades would mean raising prices which are ok right now. the food prices were also pricy for dinner but ok for breakfast.

I visit the island every year since I moved away. I tend to stay away from the metro area because its so hectic and busy and it defeats the purpose when all you want is to relax and rest. Caribe Playa fit all the criteria and it was nice, a little overpriced compared to what it offers but overall ok. The staff was great, kudos to the owner on that part.

The Hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating, No alcohol on site so if you want a glass of wine with dinner you need to bring it yourself. The hotel and surroundings are relaxing and serene. True Calmness. Kids had a blast. Food was good. would go back. although the beach is not really so swimmable. may need to find a diffrent swimming area. town is small and charming. not many tourists, which we enjoyed.

There aren't many options for lodging in this area, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But this place did not disappoint. Our room was literally 30 ft from the ocean, with lounge chairs on the beach, and concrete tables/chairs just outside our door. Although it appeared that they were pretty busy, especially on the weekend, it never seemed crowded or noisy. The staff is unbelievable- hardworking and multitaskers. The grounds are kept in great condition. If you are looking for a long sandy beach to walk and swim from, this is not the place. Swimming is a bit difficult, and the beach is very narrow and partly rocky. But that was fine with us-just wanted a relaxing place to lounge and enjoy the view. Very nice place.

Right on the beach, could not get any closer, super friendly staff, very helpful. Rooms were lovely clean comfy. Hotel had complimentary breakfast. We ate at the hotels restaurant, fresh seafood, and speciality dishes. Home made and local. Snorkelling right there, tropical fish and reef . Would stay again and highly recommend.

Hotel is soooo old the only good thing was beach and customer service. Beside the point that our room was pathetic, i was charged 50.00 for my 2 month old puppy. Seriously ridiculous. Dinner over priced. What is shown in the picture is not what is like.

The location of this hotel is very remote and even with a rental car, everything seemed far away. Those are the same reasons that made it unique! The hotel itself lacked some basic essentials like shampoo in the room and fitted bottom sheets on the bed! We thought we reserved a room that had a TV, AC, coffee maker and fridge. It had none of those. When we asked about it, we were told this is the room we reserved. These facts were not clear when making the reservation and made for a less-than-perfect experience. (Coffee was $1.50 per cup and the cups were very small). Although right on the Caribbean, the beach is very rocky making swimming with children very difficult. We found great beaches in Luquillo and Condado, though, but they were nearly 2 hours away. Staff is very friendly! If you want to be in an authentic part of the island, Patillas is the spot. I would have preferred some hotel amenities, though.

Very nice clean personnel great and accommendating However needs little updating and more parking need to purchase lot across the street as toward weekends no where to park Overall not bad Hotel staff accommendated us in parking;we wanted away from bustlling city as we reside in large metroplolitan city Would consider it again......Beautiful scenery with water palm trees and diniing room overlooking Caribbean Sea Great pool for our grandson who is 12 ..Eldest daughter and husband also had great time..

If you are looking for a quiet peaceful getaway then this is the spot! You are far away from any of the busy tourist areas. You are really only feet from the water right outside your door. It is set up nice with a lot of shaded areas or sun if you prefer. If you are one who wants to keep busy and do things or shop you would be out of luck. Pretty much next to nothing. I really enjoyed my stay. It is small so there are not a ton of people running around. We stayed a week and had the pool area to ourselves the whole time. No sandy beach, pretty rocky. The waves crashing at nite are very loud and took us a bit to get used to, almost sounded like a thunder storm. Food is ok. Not a huge selection and service is very very slow, so don't wait until you are starving to go sit down. Prices on the menu are average, range from 8.00-14.00 depending on what you want. There is a couple choices for a free breakfast, but pretty basic, just a bagel or toast or cold cereal. You can upgrade to a better breakfast for pretty cheap. Breakfast for 2 averaged about 7 bucks. We flew in from San Juan and its quite a drive to get there, through the mountains is an experience if you have never dont that before. Beautiful but very narrow roads. I would recommend this place highly if you are looking for quiet and not busy. I really did enjoy my stay!

Owner very friendly and spoke very good english. Very nice place to spend some get away from it time..............

Caribe Playa was in fact quite secluded, which is what I wanted for the honeymoon, however, it may have been too secluded. It took a long time to drive to arrive at the tourist attractions of Puerto Rico. The service was great from the staff, and the food at the hotel was prepared quite well. The beach was also difficult and inconvienient to swim in. There were lots of rocks in the water so you couldn't swim too well. I would suggest clearing out an area for guests to swim in.

If you are looking for oceanside, with limited dining options, and very basic room accomodations, consider this property. Finding the entrance is a challenge, busy 2-lane highway, and most guests need to exit and re-enter the main parking lot after check-in. Basically, an American motel set-up; several 2-story buildings facing the beach/shore. No bellmen or elevators if you want the 2nd floor. Concrete steps/railings in need of repair. Our room was very musty, but better after A/C. Shower head and faucets in the large, tiled stall, (no tub) leaked noisily and constantly. 2-DBL beds only, no Queens or Kings. The dining room is covered deck outdoors, very pleasant, ocanside. Our dinner was the biggest disappointment, however. You need to order 1-hr before you want to eat (so don't arrive hungry!). AFTER we were finally seated, we were told one of the entrees was not available, so it was quite some time later that we finally got to eat. There are no dining options close-by. The property is for sale, which explains some of the maintenance issues. It has potential, and was quiet, but is overpriced for current amenities. Swimming: there is strong undertow/riptides, but there is a pool available.
